In In the immediate aftermath of the Battle Of Jaku City, Hero Society has been dealt a critical blow. Many Pro Heroes were killed in the battle and disturbing revelations were uncovered on both the Villains and the Heroes. All of these factors led to the continued loss of faith in Pro Heroes. In the days that followed, Hunter visited Aizawa in the hospital with Present Mic. Aizawa had sustained serious injuries during the battle during the battle, including the loss of a leg.
Doctor: You can thank Rock Lock and the others for making your lives a top priority. It would've been much worse had you arrived any later.
There was a moment of silence as Present Mic looked upon Aizawa's injuries. He couldn't help but think of all the friends that were lost during the battle.
Present Mic: Why.....even Kayama....
Aizawa: Enough. Just want to know....how are the others?
Hunter: Tech and Wrecker will be fine. It's....it's Jiro I'm worried about. They saw Midnight. But that's not the worst part.
Aizawa: What happened?
Hunter: Crosshair....he.....broadcasted Midnight's death for the kids to hear.
Upon hearing this, Aizawa and Present Mic fell silent. Hunter could still hear Crosshair's voice as he taunted them before killing Midnight.
Hunter: Jiro's been through Hell, Shota. The only thing I'm worried about is her getting caught up with all the backlash. Things are only going to get worse for us.
Aizawa: I know. But you might be the only ones who can take it.
Hunter: I hope you're right, Shota.
With that, Hunter prepared for what would come next. He knew that Crosshair's killing of Midnight would only bring in more backlash on the Bad Batch. Regardless, Hunter would not let this deter him and his team from doing their jobs. Meanwhile in UA, Jiro was still reeling about what had happened. Crosshair's callous killing of Midnight weighed heavily on her mind. As she pondered that, Omega approached her.
Omega: Jiro? Are you....okay?
Jiro: I'm....I'm fine, Omega.
Omega: You seem....sad.
Jiro: Yeah. Miss Midnight was a good teacher. She....she didn't deserve to die like that.
Omega glanced down sadly. She didn't know Midnight for very long, but could tell that the Pro Hero's death had a profound effect on Jiro.
Omega: I.....I know you'll stop them. Bring them to justice.
Jiro: I....I hope you're right, Omega.
As Jiro said that, doubt began to creep into her mind. A part of her didn't know if she could stop Crosshair. He seemed one step ahead of the Bad Batch. Between Crosshair's betrayal and the pressure from the PHSC, Jiro knew that the Bad Batch were now vulnerable than ever. As Omega was about to leave Jiro, she noticed a note addressed to Jiro.
Omega: It looks like someone left you a letter.
Curious, Jiro opened the letter. It was a letter from Midoriya.
Midoriya(Letter): "Jiro, Thank you for all your support. I felt that I had to reveal my secret to everyone in our class, so I'm leaving these letters for you all. My Quirk was passed down to me from All Might which is why Shigaraki and All For One are after me. With All Might retired, the power of All For One rests within me. And that is why I have decided to leave UA. It pains me to do so, but it was the only way to ensure your safety. I won't ask you to put yourselves on the line for me. But just as you walk your path, I have to walk mine. And that means leaving UA. This is goodbye. Izuku Midoriya."
As Jiro finished reading the letter, she rushed outside her room to see her classmates reacting to the letters Midoriya left for them.
Mineta: Guys! Midoriya slipped a letter under my door!
Kaminari: You got one too?
Jiro turned to Ochaco who had tears swelling in her eyes. She knew that she was very close to Midoriya.
Ochaco: That dummy.....
Jiro looked around the room to see everyone in a state of shock over Midoriya's departure from UA to pursue Shigaraki. It was in that moment that Jiro realized that this conflict was only going to get worse and that Midoriya would charge head first into that fight alone no matter the cost to himself. With that knowledge, Jiro and Omega rushed to the Bad Batch headquarters. When they arrived, Hunter and the others turned to face Jiro.
Hunter: Jiro? What are you doing here?
Jiro: Midoriya.....he left UA!
Tech: He left UA? Why?
Jiro then hands Hunter the letter. Upon reading the letter, Hunter paused.
Hunter: Shit.....that kid's Quirk was passed down from All Might.
Wrecker: Since when did Quirks did that?!
Tech: This is a very interesting turn of events. If Midoriya is connected with All Might.....
Hunter: Then that means he'll be a prime target for Crosshair.
Upon hearing this, Jiro became horrified. The idea of Crosshair hunting down and killing Midoriya was a horrifying thought, especially with Midoriya out there.
Jiro: We....we have to do something about it! If Midoriya's out there, Crosshair's going to be looking for him!
Hunter: We won't let Crosshair find him. We'll hunt down Crosshair and bring him to justice.
With that, the Bad Batch made it their top priority to find Midoriya before Crosshair found him. But for now, Midoriya was walking down his path to combat the rise of Villainy on his own. Hero Society had been dealt a serious blow and Midoriya would walk his path alone. As for the Bad Batch, they would weather the coming storm of this uncertain future.
