As the Bad Batch and Class 1-A set out on their plan to find Midoriya, Midoriya had been searching for days without success for any clue as to the whereabouts of Tomura Shigaraki or All For One, and during the search he has been protecting civilians, taking on villains, and solving whatever problems he encountered, with hardly any sleep or rest. Eventually, he is cornered by the Villain Dictator in the memorial plaza where the confrontation between All Might and All For One took place. Dictator has multiple civilians under his control. Before Dictator and the mind control civilians could swarm him, Bakugo arrives and promptly dispatches Dictator with the Bad Batch. It wasn't long before the rest of Class 1-A arrives.
Yaoyorozu: The villain is secured! We're in the clear, Bakugo!
Bakugo: That's Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight to you, damn it!
Yaoyorozu: Oh, right! I forgot! Sorry!
Wrecker: I like this kid! He's just like me!
Tech: Somehow I'm not surprised.
At this point, the civilians were freed from Dictator's control and promptly run away. Class 1-A soon turn to a visible exhausted Midoriya.
Midoriya: I don't understand. Why're you here?
Ochaco: Because we're worried about you.
Midoriya: That's nice, but I promise I'm fine. Really. No need for concern. So leave.
Bakugo: Oh, yeah, great speech! Just what we wanted from the famous One For All successor! Real talk. Are you able to smile right now? C'mon, go ahead and show us.
There was a moment of silence as Midoriya struggles even to stand up.
Midoriya: In order to smile...for everyone to live in peace...I have to go. I'm sorry.
As Midoriya moves to leave, Jiro steps up.
Jiro: You know we can't do that. Look at you. You're barely holding it together!
Midoriya: Jiro.....
Jiro: I know how it feels to shoulder a burden like this. But you're not alone! Let us help you!
Midoriya: You....you don't understand, Jiro. I have to do this. It falls on me to stop them. Shigaraki....All For One....I have to stop them.
Yaoyorozu: But you don't have to fight them alone! We're your friends, Midoriya! We can fight them together!
Midoriya: N....no. I won't allow you to put yourselves in harms way. None of you ever asked for this.....
Jiro: We knew the risk the moment we decided that we wished to become Pro Heroes. We put ourselves on the line so we can help people.
As Jiro said that, she could see just how battered Midoriya was. Soon enough, Hunter spoke up.
Hunter: You fell like you have to go through this mission alone, feeling it's best to protect the ones you care about. Believe me I know the feeling. If I were carrying the burden you carry now, perhaps I would've done the same thing.
Midoriya: Then why stop me? Why try and stop me when you know what I'm going up against?
Jiro: Because you are my friend, Midoriya. We are all your friends. We are all willing to stand beside you and face whatever danger heads our way.
There was a long pause as Jiro locked eyes with Midoriya. The rest of Class 1-A wondered if what Jiro was saying was getting through to Midoriya. As for the Bad Batch, they surveying the surrounding area for signs of Crosshair. Soon enough, Hunter once more speaks up.
Hunter: Listen, kid. Your running yourself ragged trying to stop All For One. At this rate, you'll end up killing yourself and what good will that do? I don't know about the nature of One For All, but I know this. In this fight, we'll need all the Heroes we can get. And you might be one of our heaviest hitters and the center at all of this. We can't lose you.
Jiro: Listen to Hunter, Midoriya! You don't have to do this alone! We're in this together! We're friends in every sense of the word! Just.....just let us help. Please.
Jiro then extends her hand to Midoriya in a final attempt to reach out to Midoriya. Everyone held their breath as Midoriya remained silent. Jiro hoped that what she was saying was enough to get Midoriya to come with them. After a moment of silence, Midoriya spoke.
Midoriya: Jiro.....thank you. But I can't let you all take this risk. This is my burden to bear. I have no right to ask any of you to help me shoulder this burden. It's fallen on me to finish this fight and I will finish this fight no matter the costs....
As Midoriya said that, Jiro said nothing as she took a step back.
Jiro: You are asking me.....no....all of us to step aside and allow a friend to just....keep going with disregard of their own well being? If I did that, then I have no right in calling myself a Hero or a friend.
Midoriya: Everyone get out of my way.
Bakugo: You're gonna have to make us, you busted ass All Might wannabe!
Iida: Midoriya. We had a feeling that's what you were going to say. Let's do this, class!
Ochaco: Right!
With that, Class 1-A prepared to fight Midoriya in an attempt to bring Midoriya to his senses. As for Jiro, she regrouped with the rest of the Bad Batch.
Jiro: Hunter.....
Hunter: Yeah, Echo. I know. Don't worry. We're not about to let him off that easily. 99! Form up! We're bring this kid home.
With that, the Bad Batch prepared to join Class 1-A in trying to bring Midoriya to his senses. In that moment, Class 1-A would have to fight their friend.
