Another back story to Hanamiya's life! If you haven't read the last one, it's called His Story. Be sure to read that one if you haven't X3
| Hanamiya Makoto |
- Eight Years Ago -
"Look at that boy! Such amazing skills!"
"He scored another goal!"
"That team is nothing against him."
The words set into his skin, moulding into his bones and massaging his strained muscles. This was what he was made for, basketball was the only reason who could stand and look at others. Basketball was the only excuse he could use to gain his parents' attention, the only way for them to turn their heads and keep their eyes on him.
"That's my son."
Yes, that was their son. He was proud. He was proud to be able to be called their son. Stupid - he knew it was stupid that he was so desperate for their attention when they barely acknowledged him as their son. But all he wanted was a caring face. All he wanted was warm arms around him and smiling lips that spoke well done, Makoto. His parents were the closest to that.
-
He didn't know that this would happen. He had no idea when he woke up in the morning that he was going to lose. For the first time in years.
"Go Kiyoshi!"
"He's doing so well!!
"I never thought that Hanamiya was going to lose!"
The basketball, the very one that was in his hands just seconds ago, smacked the ground as the net swished, cheers erupting, calling out Kiyoshi Teppei's name.
"That's my son! Go Teppei!"
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw his parents' seat empty, the heels of his mother's shoes disappearing behind the closing door. They were gone. There was no longer a son to cheer for, no longer a child to be proud of. He lost the game, and he lost the most important people.
"That was a great game!" Panting but grinning, Kiyoshi Teppei stood in front of Hanamiya, a hand outstretched for him to shake. Hanamiya glanced down at Kiyoshi's palm, his brows furrowing and a tear fell from his chin.
"Hey, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, it's just sweat."
It was just sweat, Hanamiya wasn't crying.
-
"How could you lose, Makoto!?"
His cheek stung, a red imprint began to become visible.
"You didn't need to slap him. He is our son after all." His father said, although he was furious as well.
"He is not our son. A loser will never be my son."
His body shook as tears stained his skin.
Kiyoshi Teppei, I will get you back. I will never lose to you, or anyone, again - no matter what I have to do to win.
