I LOVE YOU, PLEASE ENJOY THIS

| Kagami Taiga |

You never questioned all of those minor details. It wasn't really something that you thought about a lot, you guessed. You didn't realise what was behind the awkward laughs and the small shrugs. They were small things that you forgot the second after they happened.

Until now.

Taiga shows up with a forced smile and he slides into the seat in front of you. It looks like he dressed up a little more than he usually did when the two of you decided to eat out, and you think you see a hint of hair gel in his hair. He's got his face covered with the menu and you're trying your best not to comment on his appearance.

"So, what do you want to eat?" You pull down Taiga's menu with your index finger and you smile warmly at him. There's a laugh tugging at the back of your throat as you eye his red hair but Taiga swiftly covers himself with the menu again. You scoff and glare at the list of udon that he's hiding behind.

"I'm still looking." His words are a little stretched out, as if he's being cautious about what he's saying. You're wondering why he's doing that before your thoughts suddenly avert to something else.

How did I notice that his words are stretched out?

You linger on the thought a little more before you hear Taiga's menu slam onto the wooden table. You peek over your menu and raise an eyebrow.

"What's up? Mad at something?"

"No, I'm fine." Taiga grabs the bottle of water that the waiter gave you earlier and pours himself a cup before chugging it down.

"Okay then.." You wave the waiter over. You look back at the menu to check the name of the dish you'd like and you look up before your eyes widen. The waiter's insanely good looking with beautiful violet hair and you almost forget what you want to order before Taiga snaps you out of your daze.

"Oi, (your name)." Taiga glares at you and then at the waiter, who's chuckling by your seat.

"Oh right, s-sorry." The waiter leans down so he can hear your better and your cheeks turn red. He feels too close but you awkwardly clear your throat.

"I'd like the (choice of food)," You look up at Taiga, "and he would like.."

"Three of the beef burger with (a bunch of sides)." Taiga closes the menu at hands it to the waiter.

"Wow."

"Don't worry, he'll eat it all." You smile at the waiter and hand him your menu.

Once the waiter leaves, Taiga scoffs and crosses his arms.

"Is something wrong?"

"It's just that that waiter was flirting with my girlfriend and he looks so stupid with his purple hair and his fancy tux vest, and he looks, like, thirty. He probably does that with every other girl that has set foot in this restaurant" His rant catches you off guard but you roll your eyes. You start to get your phone out of your bag before you freeze.

GIRLFRIEND?!

You face Taiga with wide eyes.

"What?" He looks at you as if you're some weird specimen.

"You just called me your girlfriend."

"No I didn't."

"Yes you did."

"No I -." He pauses and his eyes become so large you're afraid that his eyeballs will pop out any second.

"I did." His voice becomes a whisper and you'd probably laugh at this situation if it wasn't you in it.

"You did."

He makes eye contact with you and Taiga opens his mouth to say something before the food arrives. The waiter sends you a more-than-friendly smile but you ignore him, all your thoughts solely on Taiga.

-

The two of you walk out the doors and the cold wind hits you immediately. Your hand grabs Taiga's on instinct and he looks down at you.

The rest of the night home is filled with embarrassing sing-a-longs to your ultimate playlist of all time, uncontrollable fits of laughter that sends you in a state of panic after because Taiga is, in fact, in charge of the steering wheel, and periods of shy conversations that causes stuttered words.

[Insert sappy line from a love song that is put in italics to make end this nicely]
