(Midorima x OC)
| Midorima Shintaro |
"Kyaaa!" Hikari shrieked, never leaving her eyes from the large, emotionless ones that stared back at her. She scrambled desperately off the comfortable bed she was sleeping on just a minute ago, her heart beating violently.
Though Midorima was distressed with leaving his practice of shooting constant three-pointers, he wasn't one to ignore the frightened cry of his girlfriend. Racing through the back door and up the stairs, only taking four strides due to his long legs, he met the cowering figure of his pale-blue haired girlfriend.
"What's wrong?" Midorima was out of breath by now, the subsiding adrenaline had been replaced with exhaustion.
Hikari's index finger slowly lifted at she pointed shakily in the direction of their bed, causing Midorima's eyes to immediately follow her finger.
Catching sight of what had scared her, he let out an annoyed, yet relieved, sigh. Standing up from the door he was leaning on, he neared the creature, hands carefully and swiftly scooping up the idle amphibian.
"It's just a frog." He stared at his hunched girlfriend, eyebrows knotted in irritation. How could something so mere and stupid stop him from throwing his basketballs?
"Just a frog?!" Hikari yelled, arms outstretched as she stood from her crouched position, "Just a frog?! Are you joking?! It's disgusting and so fat!"
Midorima remained silent, the frog sitting in his hands, both of them were not disturbed at all from Hikari's outburst.
"Why are you so scared, it's not going to hurt you."
"Is it yours? Did you bring that filthy thing in?!" Hikari was the one out of breath now, all of that voice raising had shaken her small body.
"Of course, it's my lucky item." Midorima replied nonchalantly. He couldn't see the reason why she was so upset.
Hikari scoffed, "You know how much slimy things, especially ones that breathe, scare me!"
"I do, but it's my lucky item, I wouldn't be able to last a day without it." He glanced down at the animal in the palm of his hand, the wrapped bandages on his fingers were now damp.
"Get it out." Her eyes darkened in anger.
"I can't." Midorima had to win this one, he just had to.
"Get. It. Out!" Hikari grabbed a pillow that lay close by, throwing it harshly at his face. Luckily, Midorima caught it before it could hit him.
"It's my lucky item. It's just for a day, I'll return it to the pond tomorrow morning. Stop worrying."
"You got it from the pond?! You don't even know what disgusting things are in there! It could have a disease or something! This is so disgusting." Hikari grumbled while she glared at Midorima, then at the frog, then back to Midorima.
"Just for today, please." Midorima pleaded, and he hated that he had to beg to keep something as harmless as a frog for the rest of the day.
Hikari sighed, but her glare stayed on her face. She grabbed another pillow and a blanket from the closet and threw it at Midorima's shoe-clad feet.
"Fine." She turned away,"But you can sleep with your precious frog tonight."
「^^」
This was originally going to be a Kise one shot because I was going to make it like the frog was in danger, or something similar, so he brought it home to save it because he's kind and caring(≧∇≦)
