"Oh, he hasn't changed that much, has he?" Jackie asks. The Doctor goes to get up, panting as he does so. He doesn't stand for long before he falls back against the wall again.
"We haven't got much time. If there's pilot fish, then. Why's there an apple in my dressing gown?" He asks Jackie.
"Oh, that's Howard. Sorry." Jackie tells him.
"He keeps apples in his dressing gown?"
"He gets hungry."
"What, he gets hungry in his sleep?"
"Sometimes."
"Argh!.." the Doctor says as he falls to the floor. "...Brain collapsing. The pilot fish. The pilot fish mean that something, something, something is coming." He says before passes out.

Rose puts the suffering Doctor back to bed, this time his daughter laid next to him still unconscious, and mops his brow. Mickey has fetched his laptop. Rose moves on to her best friend cleaning up the blood on her head. It's hard to see how much is in her hair, seen as that's red too.
"Jackie, I'm using the phone line. Is that all right?" Mickey shouts.
"Yeah. Keep a count of it. It's midnight. Christmas day. Any change?" She says as Rose come into the front room.
"He's worse. Just one heart beating. And Raiah's breathing keeps going funny."

Awhile later Kyraiah comes to, as she hears Jackie say "Funny sort of rocks."
"The first photographs..." the man on the news says.
"That's not rocks" Rose tells her mum. She rushes into the bedroom to see her best friend getting up and helps her into the front room.
"This image is being transmitted via mission control, coming live from the depths of space on Christmas morning."  A newsreader says.
It's an red-eyed ugly alien with a head like a goat's skull. It growls and gurgles at the screen.
"The face of an alien life form was transmitted live tonight on BBC1."
"On the 25th of December, the human race has been shown absolute proof that alien life exists."
"These remarkable images have been relayed right across the world."

"Rose, Kyrai. Take a look. I've got access to the military. They're tracking a spaceship. It's big, it's fast, and it's coming this way."
"Coming for what, though? The Doctor?" Rose asks.
"I don't know. Maybe it's coming for all of us." Mickey says as he gets a clear image of four of the aliens.
"Have you seen them before?" Mickey ask the pair
"No." Rose tells him.
"No but that's a Sycorax. Their called Sycorax. Nasty things them." Ky tells them both.

"I don't understand what they're saying. The Tardis translates alien languages inside my head, all the time, wherever I am." Rose tells Mickey as the Sycorax speak.
"So, why isn't it doing it now?"
"I don't know. Must be the Doctor. Like he's part of the circuit, and he's, he's broken." Rose tells him.
"I can roughly translate it. Um, people you belong to the Sycorax. We own you. We now possess your land, your minerals and your, er, your precious stones. You will surrender or they will die. Then they said, bare with me, Sycorax strong. Sycorax mighty. Sycorax rock. I guess they mean in like the pop culture way."

Back in the bedroom sometime later, Ky curled up by doctors side and fell asleep.
Jackie has fallen asleep by the Doctor's bedside.
"The Doctor wouldn't do this. The old Doctor, the proper Doctor, he'd wake up. He'd save us." Rose says looking into the bedroom.
"You really love him, don't you?"
Rose just leans her head on his shoulder then turns to face Mickey and they hug.

Rose and Mickey are on a flat roof with all the zombified people.
"What do we do?" Mickey asks her.
"Nothing. There's no one to save us. Not anymore." Mickey looks at Rose and wonders about Kyraiah, she's like the Doctor. She protects people, surely she can help them.

The three humans sit in the front room watching a lady on the tv, when Ky wakes up. She looks at her father and says "What do I do dad, I'm not you. I'll never be like you. Even Rose can see it, she keeps saying there's no one left to save them because your like this. What do I do." Ky says starting to sob.
Ky walks in the front room, wiping away her tears, and she hears Harriet Jones calling out for her dad. "Help us. Please, Doctor. Help us. God help us."
Rose bursts into tears.
"He's gone. The Doctor's gone. He's left me, mum. He's left me, mum."
"It's all right. I'm sorry."
Suddenly, all the glass in the block of flats shatters.
"Right you lot, I'm done sitting around. I'm gonna sort this out." Ky says to them. They all just a look at her confused as too where this attitude came from. "I'm taking charge now. Rose, you said earlier on, several times actually, theres nobody here to help. But here I am. I'm 153, wait no that's wrong, I'm 154 years old and was made to be a weapon but that's not me. I'm a protector. So Rose, Mickey get whatever you need and go to the Tardis. Jackie can you get some food please. Just a bit will do. I'm gonna get my dad and we're gonna stop this. It ends here. And it ends now." All three just nod, Rose begins to feel guilty for forgetting that this girl is just like her dad. She had been so sure that there was no one left, but all she had to do was look towards her best friend and know that there was always someone on earths side.
"The Tardis. It's the only safe place on Earth." Rose tells her mum and Mickey when there on the way to the time machine.
"What're we going to do in there?" Jackie asks her.
"Hide. For now." Kyraiah says coming up behind her. This time she's not levitating her father. No this time she's got him over her shoulders in a fireman's lift, and she doesn't seem to be struggling. It's like he weighs nothing to her. Then again she did mention to Rose that Timelords are stronger than average humans.
"Is that it?" Jackie asks the girl.
"For now I said Jackie. I just need to sort a couple things then we can end this." The redhead replies.

Outside the Tardis Rose and Mickey carry the Doctors stuff and theirs while Jackie struggles with half a dozen carrier bags.
"Mum, will you just leave that stuff and give us a hand?" Rose says.
"It's food! Raiah said we need food."
"Just leave it!"
Kyraiah walks up to them, still carrying the Doctor without struggling, and tells them to get in the Tardis.

"No chance you could fly this thing?" Mickey asks Rose and Ky.
"Not anymore, no." Rose tells him as Ky puts the Doctor down gently.
"Well, you did it before."
"I know, but it's sort of been wiped out of my head, like it's forbidden. Try that again and I think the Universe rips in half."
"Ah, better not, then."
"Maybe not."
"So, what do we do? Just sit here?"
"That's as good as it gets."
"You lot sit. I've got too do a little work to do under here." Ky tells them. She has to some how figure how to jump start the Tardis, after what the Doctor did to her earlier.
"Right, here we go. Nice cup of tea." Jackie tells them as she brings out a mug.
"Mmm, the solution to everything." Rose sarcastically says.
"Now, stop your moaning. I'll get the rest of the food." Jackie says as she leaves.
"Tea. Like we're having a picnic while the world comes to an end. Very British. How does this thing work? If it picks up TV, maybe we could see what's going on out there. Maybe we've surrendered. What do you do to it?" Mickey says to Rose.
"I don't know. It sort of tunes itself" Rose tells
