The Doctor does his old trick of looping wires around his neck and shoulders as he tries to get inside the CPU, Ky is sat crossed legged next to him using her sonic on the computer next to him.
"I can't shift it." He says, he looks at Ky and she shakes her head she can't either.
"I thought the sonic screwdriver could open anything!" Sarah said to him.
"Anything except a deadlock seal..." he said and before he could say anything else Kyraiah chimes in quietly but everyone heard her and laughed when she said "and wood."
"...There's got to be something inside here. What're they teaching those kids?" He finished. He was happy to hear her voice even if it was to mock him. Suddenly symbols are on all these screens.
"You wanted the programme? There it is." Sarah said to him.
"Some sort of code." The Doctor said trying to figure it out.
It starts to resolve itself.
"No. No, that can't be." The Doctor said.
"That's the Skasis Paradigm. They're trying to crack the Skasis Paradigm." Ky says watching the screen flash with all the green symbols.
"The Skasis what?" Sarah asks confused.
"The God maker. The universal theory. Crack that equation and you've got control of the building blocks of the universe. Time and space and matter, yours to control." The Doctor told her, yet again looking for Kys hand.
"What, and the kids are like a giant computer?" Rose asked him.
"Yes. And their learning power is being accelerated by the oil. That oil from the kitchens, it works as a, as a conducting agent. Makes the kids cleverer." The Doctor said to her.
"But that oil's on the chips. I've been eating them." Rose said.
"What's fifty nine times thirty five?" Ky asked her.
"Two thousand and sixty five. Oh, my God." Rose gasped.
"But why use children? Can't they use adults?" Sarah asked them.
"No, it's got to be children. The God maker needs imagination to crack it. They're not just using the children's brains to break the code, they're using their souls." The Doctor said disgusted
The Headmaster enters the room. "Let the lesson begin. Think of it, Doctor. With the Paradigm solved, reality becomes clay in our hands. We can shape the universe and improve it." He says.
"Oh yeah? The whole of creation with the face of Mister Finch? Call me old fashioned, but I like things as they are." The Doctor spits back.
"You act like such a radical, and yet all you want to do is preserve the old order? Think of the changes that could be made if this power was used for good." Finch says.
"What, by someone like you?" Ky asks him.
"No, someone like either of you. The Paradigm gives us power, but you could give us wisdom. Become a Gods at my side. Imagine what you could do. Think of the civilisations you could save. Perganon, Assinta. Your own people, Doctor, standing tall. The Time Lords reborn." Finch says.
"No thank you, rather not." Ky says, the only Timelord to ever really care was here with her now
"Doctor, don't listen to him." Sarah says seeing that the Doctor seemed torn.
"And you could be with him throughout eternity. Young, fresh, never wither, never age, never die. Their lives are so fleeting. So many goodbyes. How lonely you must be, Doctor. Join us." Finch says to everyone in the room.
"I could save everyone." The Doctor says.
"Yes."
"I could stop the war." He says thinking, if he could do that he could stop what happened to Ky.
"No. The universe has to move forward. Pain and loss, they define us as much as happiness or love. Whether it's a world, or a relationship, everything has its time. And everything ends." Sarah says.
"Dad you stop all that and I wouldn't be your daughter. I'd be taken away. What happened to me brought me too you. I'd have nobody again and our bond would be erased." That's what really got him. She was right, if he was able to stop all that he would save his people but loose her. And it was not worth that.
The Doctor throws a chair at the big screen, smashing it.
"Out" he shouts and everyone runs out of the room.
Mickey and Kenny meet the Doctor, Sarah Jane, Rose and Ky at the bottom of the staircase.
"What is going on?" Mickey asks.
The Krillitanes are coming.

They all run to the canteen. Finch walks in followed by the bats.
"Are they my teachers?" Kenny asks.
"Yeah. Sorry."
"We need the Doctor and his daughter alive. As for the others? You can feast." Finch shouts to his brothers.
The Krillitanes swoop. They hide under the tables. Bats are flung away from them by unseen forces. Suddenly a laser beam fells one of the bats. Finch is furious.
"K9!" Sarah Jane shouts.
"Suggest you engage running mode, mistress."
"Come on!" The Doctor shouts and everyone runs.
"K9, hold them back!"
"Affirmative, master. Maximum defence mode."
The Doctor seals the doors behind the them and runs the the science lab. "It's the oil. Krillitane life forms can't handle the oil. That's it! They've changed their physiology so often, even their own oil is toxic to them. How much was there in the kitchens?" The Doctor says.
"Barrels of it." Rose announces.
The Krillitanes are battering at the door.
"Okay, we need to get to the kitchens. Mickey..." the Doctor starts. "What now, hold the coats?" Mickey says snidely.
"No Mick. Get all the children unplugged and out of the school." Kyraiah says to him and then turns to her dad, "Now then dad, bats, bats, bats. How do we fight bats?" But before he can say or do anything Kenny sets off the fire alarm. The noise hurts the Krillitane's ears. The humans and Timelords escape.

Outside the canteen they run into K9. "Master." The metal dog says. "Come on, boy. Good boy." The Doctor says as they run into the kitchen. The Doctor and Kyraiah try their sonic screwdrivers on the barrels of oil.
"They've been deadlock sealed. Finch must've done that. I can't open them." The Doctor says.
"Me neither." Kyraiah says to her dad. She was thinking she could do it another way but there would be no way her dad would even consider it so she doesn't say anything.
"The vats would not withstand a direct hit from my laser, but my batteries are failing." K9 said.
"Right. Everyone out the back door. K9, stay with me." The Doctor says, everyone but Ky leaves. The Doctor looks at her and understands, so he doesn't say anything he just grabs her hand and rubs her knuckles.
The two Timelords line up the oil barrels for K9 to shoot at.
"Capacity for only one shot, Master. For maximum impact, I must be stationed directly beside the vat." K9 says and Kyraiah gasps. "But you'll be trapped inside." She says.
"That is correct." He tells her.
"I can't let you do that." The Doctor says and tightens his grip on her hand.
"No alternative possible, Master. Misstress." The dog says.
"Goodbye, old friend." The Doctor says to the loyal dog.
"Goodbye, Master."
"You good dog." Both Timelords say patting his head.
"Affirmative." He says his ear dishes moving slightly.

When outside the kitchen The Doctor seals the door and Kyraiah runs into Roses arms. The blonde wastes no time in hugging her best friend back both burrowing their faces in each other's necks. Kyrai blocks out the heartbreaking conversations the Doctors about to have with Sarah Jane.
The school goes KaBOOM! The children rejoice as paper rains down on them. The kids find out Kenny had something to do with it and start cheering his name.
"I'm sorry." The Doctor says to Sarah.
"It's all right. He was just a daft metal dog. It's fine, really." Sarah says as she bursts into tears. The Doctor tries to comfort her. In the end the redhead walks over to her, leaving rose for a moment, and pulls the sobbing woman into her arms, tears falling down her own face.

Outside the Tardis, which has relocated itself from the destroyed school to Belle Vue Park. Sarah Jane walks up and the Doctor steps out.
"Cup of tea?" He asks as they walk in.
"You've redecorated."
"Do you like it?"
"Oh, I, I do. Yeah. I preferred it as it was, but er, yeah. It'll do."
"I love it." Rose says.
"Hey, you what's forty seven times three hundred and sixty nine?" Sarah asks her.
"No idea. It's gone now. The oil's faded." She replies.
"But you're still clever. More than a match for him. For both of them." Sarah tells her.
"You and me both. Doctor?"
"Er, we're about to head off, but you could come with us." He tells his old companion.
"No. I can't do this anymore. Besides, I've got a much bigger adventure ahead. Time I stopped waiting for you and found a life of my own." Sarah said to him.
"Can I come? No, not with you, I mean with you. Because I'm not the tin dog, and I want to see what's out there." Mickey ask the trio.
"Oh, go on, Doctor. Sarah Jane Smith, a Mickey Smith. You need a Smith on board." Sarah says to him.
"Okay then, I could do with a laugh." The Doctor says but he'd have agreed anyway, the way he was there for Ky when she didn't want to go to her dad was enough to let him with out question.
"Rose, is that okay? What about you Kyrai."
"No, great. Why not?" Rose says lying but she can't say no for the same reason as the Doctor.
"Of course Mickey, sounds great but if you guys I think I'm going to go to my room. Bye Sarah Jane it was lovely meeting you." She said as she went over and hugged the woman.
"Well, I'd better go. Bye Ky it was nice to meet you too." She said as the girl left. She was too tired and emotionally drained to stay up any longer and when she got to her room she shut the door, got changed and curled up in bed.
