The girl in the fireplace part four

Ky was running to where they had left Arthur,
She knew he would freak so did this without him knowing. Once she found him she climbed onto his saddle and rode him towards the correct time window.
"Sorry dad" Kyraiah sent to her dad then shut down the communication channel.

In the ballroom, Reinette was confronting the androids. "Such a commotion. Such distressing noise. Kindly remember that this is Versailles. This is the Royal Court, and we are French. I have made a decision. And my decision is no, I shall not be going with you today. I have seen your world, and I have no desire to set foot there again." She told them.
"We do not require your feet." On said as two female dressed androids push Reinette to her knees.
"You think I fear you, but I do not fear you even now. You are merely the nightmare of my childhood. The monster from under my bed. And if my nightmare can return to plague me, then rest assured, so will yours." Reinette said, waiting for her redheaded angel to arrive.
Somewhere a horse neighs, then the sound of galloping hooves. The mirror over the mantlepiece is smashed as the Ky jumps the horse through it. She gracefully dismounts.
"Madame de Pompadour. You look younger every day." Ky said winking at her.
"What the hell is going on?" A man said. Both women look at the man then each other and the the blonde says. "Oh. This is my lover, the King of France."
"Yeah? Well, I'm the Lady of Time, and I'm here to fix the clock." Ky says as she takes the mask off the main android. It points its blade at her throat.
"Oh come off it. No really. Forget it. It's over. For you and for me. Talk about seven years bad luck. Try three thousand. My dad is going to be soo mad." Ky said pointing at where the portal once was. There is a brick wall where once there was a portal to the spaceship.

"The link with the ship is broken. No way back. You don't have the parts. How many ticks left in that clockwork heart, huh? A day? An hour? It's over. Accept that. I'm not winding you up." She says chuckling at her own joke.
The androids all wind down. One of them falls backwards and breaks apart. Ky goes over to the blonde woman and helps her up, the blonde hugs her.
"You all right?" Ky whispers in her ear.
"What's happened to them?" Reinette asks her whilst nodding.
"They've stopped. They have no purpose now." Ky says walking out of the ballroom.
Later, Kyraiah is looking up at the night sky.
"You know all their names, don't you? I saw that in your mind. The name of every star." Reinette asked the sad redhead.
"My dad knows them better. But what's in a name? Names are just titles. Titles don't tell you anything." Ky said to her.
"Like the two you have, depending on what side the people on. The Weapon or the Protector. I quite think they are one in the same." Reinserted said grabbing the redheads shaking hand.
"Or like Madame de Pompadour." Ky says quietly to her.
"I have often wished to see those stars a little closer. Just as you have, I think." The blonde said.
"From time to time."
"In saving me, you trapped yourself. Did you know that would happen? Did you know you would have to leave the man you call your father, and the girl you call your best friend?" Reinette asked the Timelady
"Mmm. Pretty much. My dad is going to be fuming or going completely frantic. Or both. He'll be fine though." Ky says looking back at the stars. At this very time the Doctor was doing the same, trying to think of a way to save Ky.
"Yet, still you came." The blonde said to her.
"Yeah, I did, didn't I? Well I'd do it again if I had too." Ky told her. Both girls softly smiled at each other, the blonde placed a soft peck on the redheads cheek as a thank you.
"There were many doors between my world and yours. Can you not use one of the others?" She asked.
"Nah all gone. When the mirror broke, the shock would have severed all the links with the ship. There'll be a few more broken mirrors and torn tapestries around here, I'm sorry, wherever there was a time window. I'll, I'll pay for any damage. Er, that's a thought, I'm going to need money. I was always a bit confused about money. Where do you get money?" Ky asked the blonde.
"So, here you are, my lonely angel, stuck on the slow path with me."
"Yep, the slow path. Here's to the slow path. Could be worse places to be stuck. I have been stuck worse places, in fact come to think of it." Ky said thinking back to the cell she was in back at Van Stattens museum. They drink a toast.
"It's a pity. I think I would've enjoyed the slow path." Reinette said.
"Well, I'm not going anywhere." Kyraiah told her.
"Oh, aren't you? Take my hand." She said grabbing the redheads hand and taking her to her bedroom. There was the fireplace. Reinette also has Kys old clothes, so she changed into them.
"It's not a copy, it's the original. I had it moved here and was exact in every detail." The blonde woman said.
"The fireplace. The fireplace from your bedroom. When did you do this?" Kyraiah asked her, amazed.
"Many years ago, in the hope that a door once opened, may someday open again. One never quite knows when one needs one's imaginary friend. It appears undamaged. Do you think it will still work?" Reinette said, smiling.
"Oh your brilliant. You broke the bond with the ship when you moved it, which means it was offline when the mirror broke. That's what saved it. But the link is basically physical, and it's still physically here. Which might just mean, if I'm lucky. If I'm very, very, very, very, very, very lucky..."
She taps the fireplace surface. "...Ah ha!" She said finding what she was looking for.
"What?"
"Loose connection." Ky says and uses her sonic on it.
"Need to get a man in. Or woman those work to." Ky said winking at Reinette as she gives it a thump and there is a clunk.
"Wish me luck!"
"No." Reinette says as the fireplace turns, taking Ky away.
Ky calls back through the fireplace.
"Madame de Pompadour! Still want to see those stars?"
"More than anything."
"Give me two minutes. Pack a bag."
"Am I going somewhere?" The blonde asked.
"Everywhere. But to start with go to the window. Pick a star, any star." Kyraiah said as she dashed off.
Ky comes up behind Rose and hugs her.
"Your still here.How long did you wait?" She asks.
"Five and a half hours. Your dad wouldn't go anywhere, and neither would me or Mickey."
"Great. Always wait five and a half hours." She says and goes to hug Mickey. Just then her father appears around the corner. He sees her and grins, she runs at him. He picked her up in a hug and swings her around.
"Where've you been?" Rose asks.
"Explain later. Into the Tardis. Be with you in a sec. I left something behind hang on."

"Reinette? You there, Reinette?" Shouts through the fireplace. Not getting a reply she decides to go into the bedroom.
"Reinette? Oh, hello." Ky says when she sees the King.
"You just missed her. She'll be in Paris by six."
"Ah."
"Good Lord. She was right. She said you never looked a day older. So many years since I saw you last, but not a day of it on your face." He says looking at the woman he saw once six years prior. King Louis takes a sealed letter from a drawer.
"She spoke of you many times. Often wished you'd visit again. You know how you women are." He says as she gives him a look. He gives the letter to Kyraiah.
"There she goes." The King said as a hearse goes down the driveway in the pouring rain.
"Leaving Versailles for the last time. Only forty three when she died. Too young. Too young. Illness took her in the end. She always did work too hard. What does she say?" He says as Ky puts the unopened letter in her back pocket of her ripped jeans.
"Of course. Quite right." He says to her when she does so.

When she gets back to the Tardis, Rose asks her and her dad.
"Why her? Why did they think they could repair the ship with the head of Madame de Pompadour?"
"We'll probably never know. There was massive damage in the computer memory banks. It probably got confused. The Tardis can close down the time windows now the droids are gone. Should stop it causing any more trouble." The Doctor said, he saw his daughters face. He knew what she went to get, or more like who, but she was too late.
"Are you all right?" Rose asked he redhead who nodded and said. "Me? I'm always all right."
"Come on, Rose. It's time you showed me around the rest of this place." Mickey said dragging the blonde away. Mickey and Rose leave. Ky takes out the letter and unseals it. Her dad comes over to her and holds her hand for support.
"My dear Protector. The path has never seemed more slow, and yet I fear I am nearing its end. Reason tells me that you and I are unlikely to meet again, but I think I shall not listen to reason. I have seen the world inside your head, and know that all things are possible. Hurry though, my darling. My days grow shorter now, and I am so very weak. God speed, my lonely angel." Ky reads out loud to her father as the fireplace is on the scanner. The fire goes out. The Doctor sets the Tardis into motion before giving his daughter a big comforting hug.
