To this Rita meekly replied, "I'm sorry." It was clear to Ky that this poor woman was used to her husband's abhorrent behaviour, all she wanted to do was treat him the same but she knew her father knew this as he grabbed her hand as if he could feel her hatred for this man, which he probably could as at the moment they were very strong, stroked her knuckles to try to calm her. It worked slightly but not by much.

"Get it done. Do it now." The man barked at his wife, going to hand her the flags.

"Hold on a minute." Having felt the way his daughter was feeling right now, the Doctor intervened to try and stop the man's attitude and prevent his daughter from doing anything she could regret.

"Like the gentleman says."

"Hold on a minute. You've got hands, Mister Connolly. Two big hands. So why is that your wife's job?" The Doctor asked the repugnant man.

"Well, it's housework, innit?" Was his reply.

"And what? That's a woman's job is it?" Ky nearly spat out at the man.

"Of course it is." He said staring at the redhead, the glare she was giving him made a shiver go down his spine. The icy, cold look in her eyes made him want to cower in fear but he would not let her see the fear in him. He couldn't, for she was a woman and he was a man. In his eyes men were superior.

"Mister Connolly, what gender is the Queen?" The Doctor asked him, making Mr Connolly pull his eyes away from the scary girl.

"She's a female." He answered quite blasé.

"And are you suggesting the Queen does the housework?" The Doctor questioned him, making the man backtrack and think for seconds before answering. "No. Not at all."

"Then get busy." The Timelord said to him.

Mr Connolly turned and began to put flags up, then told the trio, "Right. Yes, sir. You'll be proud of us, sir. We'll have Union Jacks left, right and centre."

"Excuse me, Mister Connolly. Hang on a minute. Union Jacks?" Rose said, the man turned to her and asked her. "Yes, that's right, isn't it?"

"That's the Union Flag. It's the Union Jack only when it's flown at sea." She said correcting him. She turned to the other two after embarrassing the man, doing her classic tongue in teeth smile.

"Oh. Oh, I'm sorry, I do apologise." That was all he could say, he had been shown up twice now by two separate females and was feeling thoroughly embarrassed.

"Well, don't get it wrong again, there's a good man. Now get to it!" Rose said to the man before turning back to the Doctor as both of them moved over to the sofa. Ky moved too but not to the sofa, no she went and stood next to Tommy, who was standing on the other side of the room.

"Right then! Nice and comfy, at Her Majesty's leisure. Union Flag?" The Doctor said to them all but the last bit quietly questioned Rose as they finally sat down. He took one glance at his daughter who had turned to Tommy and was giving him a warm smile, in which he was giving one back. As much as the Doctor didn't like it, it was also nice for him to see her so relaxed and calm now that she wasn't looking or talking to Mr Connolly.

"Mum went out with a sailor," Rose said to the Doctor, whilst also quickly glancing at her friend. The way she was acting around the boy was quite sweet to be fair and Rose thought it adorable.

"Oh ho ho ho. I bet she did. Anyway, I'm the Doctor, this is Rose, and that's my daughter Kyraiah, and you are?" The Doctor said to be polite, despite knowing this already due to his daughter telling him.

"Tommy." The boy timidly said turning to the man. After finding out the pretty redheads name he thought it was beautiful but then hearing that that man, the only man to stand up to his father, was the girl's father he didn't know what to do.
