"You two! Get the hell out of my house!" Mr Connolly shouts. Rose gets up first and faces them.

"I'm going. I'm done. Nice to meet you, Tommy, Mrs Connolly. And as for you, Mister Connolly, only an idiot hangs the Union Flag upside down. Shame on you!" The blonde says Thea runs off with a big smile on her face. She goes to wait by Ky's moped whilst the girls say her goodbyes.

Ky slowly gets up from her crouched position and turns. "Bye Tommy, bye Rita, it was lovely meeting you." She says smiling brightly at the pair. Turning to face the other person in the room. Her smile turns to a scowl and walks close to him. "Is it worth what you did Mr C, feel big, do you? Betraying the people who trusted you? Goodbye," She whispered in his ear, making the man stiffen as he realises she knew it was him. After turning back to the other two she smiles again and rushes out after her blonde friend.

"I guess you know where we're going, Rosie," Ky says after they both put their helmets on.

"Magpies electricals" Rose states. The redhead nods and they both get on and ride the short distance to the store.

Rose enters followed close behind Ky who walked in first.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Miss'. I'm afraid you're too late. I was just about to lock the door." Magpie said to them both.

"Yeah? Well, we want to buy a telly." Ky says staying in front of Rose in a protective stance.

"Come back tomorrow, please." He tells them.

"You'll be closed, won't you?" The blonde asks.

"What?"

"For the big day?" Ky says he looks blank still.

"The coronation." Rose clarifies.

"Yes, yes, of course. The big day. I'm sure you'll both find somewhere to watch it. Please go." He says in realisation.

"Seems to me half of London's got a television since you're practically giving them away," Rose says approaching him.

" I have my reasons." He says slightly skittish.

"And they are?" Ky asks him with her eyebrows raised.

A woman's face appears on just one screen, saying.

"Hungry! Hungry!"

"What's that?" Rose says slightly backing up to Ky.

"It's just a television. One of these modern programmes. Now, I really do think you should leave. Right now!" Magpie says, trying so hard to get rid of both girls.

"Not until you've answered our questions, Magpie. How come your televisions are so cheap? How can you afford to do that?" Ky says curiously yet forward.

"It's my patriotic duty. Seems only right that as many folk as possible get to watch the coronation. We may be losing the Empire but we can still be proud. Twenty million people they reckon'll be watching. Imagine that. And twenty million people can't be wrong, eh, so why don't you get yourself back home and get up, bright and early, for the big day." The man says trying to convince them, and himself, whilst edging towards the door.

"Nah, we're not leaving till we've seen everything." The blonde tells him.

"I need to close."

"Mister Magpie, something's happening out there. Ordinary people are being struck down and changed, and the only new thing in the house is a television. Your television. What's going on?" Rose asked.

"I knew this would happen. I knew I'd be found out." He says to the girls as he locks the shop door.

"All right, then, it's just you and us. You going to come clean, then? What's really in it for you?" Rose asks him, curious as to what any of this could do for him.
