The man comes out to meet Queen Victoria. "Your Majesty." He greets her.
"Sir Robert. My apologies for the emergency. And how is Lady Isobel?"
"She's indisposed, I'm afraid. She's gone to Edinburgh for the season. And she's taken the cook with her. The kitchens are barely stocked. I wouldn't blame Your Majesty if you wanted to ride on."
"Oh, not at all. I've had quite enough carriage exercise. And this is charming, if rustic. It's my first visit to this house. My late husband spoke of it often. The Torchwood Estate. Now, shall we go inside? And please excuse the naked girls."
"Sorry." They both chorused.
"That ones a feral child." He said pointing at Rose. "I bought her for sixpence in old London Town. And this one is my daughter" He them pointed to Ky. "It's was the girl or the Elephant Man, and my daughter insisted, and now she's dressed like her, so..."
"Thinks he's funny but I'm so not amused. What do you think, Ma'am?" Rose said to Victoria.
"It hardly matters. Shall we proceed?"
"So close." Rose whispered.
"But yet so far." Kyraiah whispered back to her, making Rose lightly hit her arm. Who's side of the bet was she on.
Queen Victoria goes inside whilst the time travellers waited for them to be told they can follow.
"Makerson and Ramsey, you will escort the property. Hurry up." The man that was on the horse before said.
"Yes, sir." The replied.
They take a small locked box from the carriage and carry it into the house.
"So what's in there, then?" The Doctor said causing Ky to hiss at him. "Dad shhh..."
"Property of the Crown. You will dismiss any further thoughts, sir. The rest of you go to the rear of the house. Assume your designated positions."
"You heard the orders. Positions."
"Sir."
They go inside and are lead to what looks to be a observatory.
"This, I take it, is the famous Endeavour." The Queen said looking at a massive bronze telescope.
"All my father's work. Built by hand in his final years. Became something of an obsession. He spent his money on this rather than caring for the house or himself." Said Sir Robert.
"I wish I'd met him. I like him. That thing's beautiful. Can I?" The Doctor asked.
"Help yourself." He told him.
"What did he model it on?" Kyraiah asked him politely as the three walked towards it. The Doctor allowed Ky to look first, and when her brows furrowed he wondered why.
"I know nothing about it. To be honest, most of us thought him a little, shall we say, eccentric. I wish now I'd spent more time with him and listened to his stories." Robert told the polite redhead.
"It's a bit rubbish. How many prisms has it got? Way too many. The magnification's gone right over the top. That's stupid kind of..." the Doctor started, realising why his daughters eyebrows were furrowed when she looked in it. He turned to the girls then. "Am I being rude again?" He whispered.
"Yep." Rose said whilst Ky just nodded at him.
"But it's pretty. It's very pretty." He said turning back to Sir Robert.
"And the imagination of it should be applauded." The Queens said. The young redhead just smiled and nodded her head at her. She was thinking as too why telescope needed so many prisms. Unless, she thought, it's not a telescope but something else, but what could it be. She filed that thought away for later.
"Mmm. Thought you might disapprove, Your Majesty. Stargazing. Isn't that a bit fanciful? You could easily not be amused, or something? No?" Rose asks the Queen, determined to win the bet.
"This device surveys the infinite work of God. What could be finer? Sir Robert's father was an example to us all. A polymath, steeped in astronomy and sciences, yet equally well versed in folklore and fairytales." The Queen said back to her.
"Stars and magic. I like him more and more." The Doctor said. Ky just looked at her father and nodded agreeing with him.
"Oh, my late husband enjoyed his company. Prince Albert himself was acquainted with many rural superstitions, coming as he did from Saxe Coburg." The Queen told them.
"That's Bavaria." Ky whispered to Rose.
"When Albert was told about your local wolf, he was transported." Victoria continued.
"So, what's this wolf, then?" The Doctor asked, thinking the exact thing as Ky.
"It's just a story." Sir Robert told them.
"Then tell it." The Timelord said to him.
"It's said that..." he started only to be cut off by a bold servant. "Excuse me, sir. Perhaps her Majesty's party could repair to their rooms. It's almost dark."
"Of course. Yes, of course."
"And then supper. And could we find some clothes for Miss McCrimmon and Miss Tyler? I'm tired of nakedness." The Queen ordered.
"It's not amusing, is it?" Rose tried again.
"Sir Robert, your wife must have left some clothes. See to it. We shall dine at seven, and talk some more of this wolf. After all, there is a full moon tonight." The older lady told the man.
"So there is, Ma'am" Robert nervously said.

In a bedroom Ky and Rose explore the contents of a wardrobe.
Rose finds a blue velvet dress that is to her liking whilst Ky finds a deep red one in the same style and material that she likes.
Rose opens another cupboard and discovers a young, brunette housemaid. Rose and the maid both let out a little squeal and Ky just chucked. They lead the girl to the bed to talk to her.
"They came through the house. In the excitement they took the Steward and the Master, and my Lady." She tells the girls.
"Listen. I've got a friend. He's called the Doctor. He'll know what to do. You've got to come with me." Rose says t the terrified maid.
"Oh, but I can't, Miss." She says looking at Rose.
"Hey look at me. I'm Kyraiah. And that's Rose. What's your name?" The redhead asks her softly as she gets in front of the terrified girl and kneels on the floor.
"Flora."
"Flora, we'll be safe. There's more people arrived downstairs, soldiers and everything, and they can help us. I promise. Come on. Okay? Come on." Rose tells her. The girl looks at her and then to the girl still knelt on the floor and nods.

Around the corner they find one of the soldiers lying on the floor.
"Oh, Miss. I did warn you."
"He's not dead. I don't think, he must be drugged or something."
The butler from before grabs Flora from behind and drags her away. Another two come, one takes Rose and the other wraps his arms around Kyraiah, tightening his hold when she fights back harder that the other girls and a fourth removes the soldier.

In the cellar, a young monk in the cage is sitting quietly.
"Don't make a sound. They said if we scream or shout, then he will slaughter us." A lady says, she looks better off meaning this was lady Isobel.
"But he's in a cage. He's a prisoner. He's the same as us." Rose says to her.
"He's nothing like us. That creature is not mortal." She says as the young man opens his eyes. They are completely black.

Ky and Rose get up and move towards the crate, as far as the chain will let them.
"Don't, children."
"Who are you?" Rose asks him.
"Don't enrage him." A man says to her.
"Where are you from? You're not from Earth. What planet are you from?" Rose asks him.
"Oh, intelligence." He says looking at both girls.
"Where were you born?" Ky asks him narrowing her eyes.
"This body? Ten miles away. A weakling, heartsick boy, stolen away at night by the brethren for my cultivation. I carved out his soul and sat in his heart." He says, a terribly dark look on his face that matches his eyes.
"All right, so the body's human. But what about you, the thing inside?" Ky asks him. She wants to, no needs to know what he is. Storing all the information she has been getting since they arrived slowly trying to put it together, but nothing fits as far. What doesn't it fit.
"So far from home." He tells them.
"If you want to get back home, we can help." Rose says to him.
"Why would I leave this place? A world of industry, of workforce and warfare. I could turn it to such purpose."
"How would you do that?"
"I would migrate to the Holy Monarch."
"You mean Queen Victoria?"
"With one bite, I would pass into her blood, and then it begins. The Empire of the Wolf. Many questions."
Ky watches the exchange Rose has the not-so-human man. Was he housing the wolf stories spoke of.
"Oh of course you do. You want the throne. It's always the throne." Ky finally chimes in at the wolf.
The young man lunges at the crate.

"Inside your eyes. You've seen it too." He says not looking away from Rose.
"Seen what?" She asks him scared.
"The Wolf. There is something of the Wolf about you." Crap, Ky thinks to herself. How can he see that.
"I don't know what you mean."
"You burnt like the sun," He says still looking at Rose, the turns to Kyraiah. "You, you shine like the moon. All I require is the moon." Double crap, does he mean he can use her somehow, Rose thinking a similar thing.
