Quinn's POV

The mansion was huge and I would estimate its price range was in the millions. The outside was all on the more classy historical side with architecture from Europe. The outside had a perfectly trimmed landscape and a big fountain. Everything about this family screamed money which could either be good for us or bad but I'll leave that for Avery to decide. She was better at reading people.

Dante the douchebag parked the car outside the front door and we all got out. I shivered at the cold New York air that cut straight through my clothes. Dante opened the trunk and Sawyer grabbed our bags before he could and passed them to us. Dante rolled his eyes and then led us inside.

"I'll give you three a small tour of the house and then show you to your rooms." I hated everything about this guy. First, he insults Papi and now he is dictating us around like children but making it sound all nice. I exchanged a glance with my twins that told me they were pissed off as well though Avery seemed to be somewhat enthusiastic probably because she wanted to piss this guy off a bit.

We followed as he showed us the foyer and then one of the living rooms apparently they have multiple ones. This one had a very modern television and expensive-looking furniture that I knew I would avoid in fear of ruining it. Although I doubt they would let the three of us have free roam of the house. He then led us to the kitchen which had very modern appliances but fit with the classy older theme of the house well. There was a bar and barstools and then a kitchen table that had twelve seats. He led us into an opening and said that it was the family dining room where they ate dinner every night but they usually ate breakfast in the kitchen and everyone did their own thing for lunch. I wrinkled my nose at the thought of eating breakfast and knew that my twins and I would probably have to start cooking their dinners so I remembered that detail.

He continued to show us a bit more pointing out how to get to the backyard and the garage but didn't actually open the doors to show us around. He then led us to the room I knew the three of us would spend a lot of our time in if we were allowed. The library. It had two big grand doors and all around us were bookshelves and comfortable sitting areas and to the side, there seemed to be a grand piano and a fancy chess set.

"We can come here as much as we like?" I asked distractedly, mesmerized by all the books.

I wasn't watching his reaction but he sounded confused, "Sure, the walls are soundproof in here and you guys are expected to sleep at a good time though."

I knew their expectations bothered the three of us especially Avery, "You expect?" I glanced over to where she was challenging him but shrugged it off hoping she knew what she was doing.

"Yes Quinn, our expectations. You three are fifteen and need to sleep."

Avery rolled her eyes. It was common for people to confuse us though she loves to fight them about it, "I'm Avery, and we can take care of ourselves." Her tone was sharp and annoyed though I could tell it was a bit exaggerated to piss him off probably to see how long until he hurt her. I knew it was a necessary test but I hated the thought of her getting hurt by someone. Especially if the someone was a muscular six-foot-something man.

His eyes narrowed but didn't make any move towards her, "Watch your tone, Avery, and while I do not know about before you are in this house now and need to respect your father and brothers."

She laughed as if it was a joke and it kind of was. We haven't given anyone so-called respect since Papi died and our lives went to hell. "Yeah, hate to break it to you Mr. Abominable Yeti but my twins and I don't do the whole respect thing."

"Watch your tone, sorella, and you will learn."(sister) I rolled my eyes at that, hating the fact he was trying to claim my sister as him, he was no one to us.

"I highly doubt that," Avery scoffed and he sighed and told us he would show us upstairs obviously letting Avery win for whatever reason. Maybe he planned to punish us later. That thought sent shivers throughout my body but I followed Dante the douchebag and my twins out of the library and then up a flight of stairs. Dante was walking too fast and we lagged behind a bit trying not to irritate any of our injuries. My arm was still killing me though and I knew I was going to need painkillers later. He rolled his eyes when he realized that we were not close behind him. It's not our fault he had long legs and was in perfect health.

"Ok this hallway has all of our bedrooms except Dad's, it goes from youngest to oldest. So Leonardo's is this one," He pointed to the first door on the right then to the one on the left then continued walking down the long hall, "This one is Remo's, and the next two down are mine and Angelo's with mine on the right. The next two are Adriano's and Francesco's with Adriano's on the right." He then stopped walking in front of one of the last sets of doors. These two are yours Avery and Sawyer and Quinn yours is the next one down on the right. All of them used to be guest rooms so we can get you whatever you want to redecorate the rooms to how you like." He signaled to the doors respectfully.

Avery shook her head, "We only need one room thanks though." She opened the door on the right and walked in with me and Sawyer following her into the grey and black themed room that fit us well.

"All three of you? You and Quinn can share and Sawyer can keep his room across the hall if you want to stay closer to one another."

Avery rolled her eyes, "We have always shared a room. We know what we're doing." Sawyer and I nodded agreeing with her. No way in hell were we splitting up.

He sighed, "Fine but you can change your mind anytime."

Avery mumbled a whatever in Russian probably done pissing him off for now and was waiting for him to get out. I guess he noticed the shift in our attitude and told us he would leave and then come back to get us for dinner and headed out the door.

Avery waited until we couldn't hear his footsteps to collapse on the bed. "We should keep them believing we only know Russian for now. And speak it whenever we don't want them to know what we're saying as we usually do even if they aren't around" I nodded and Sawyer shrugged as he explored this so-called guest room that looked lavish enough for royalty.

I explored one of the two doors as Sawyer asked Avery what she thought about Dante. "Honestly I'm surprised he's handling his anger well. I pissed him off but he did not seem like he wanted to hurt me yet so this is probably their nice guy phase to try and get us to soften up to them before they start the torture." I nodded and found a huge closet when I opened the door although there were no clothes in it. I continued to the other door as Sawyer commented on the view out of the big windows. The second door revealed a huge bathroom with a big shower and bath, two sinks, and a fancy-looking toilet stocked with every bathroom-related product as well.

I called my twins over to look at it and then we all spread out on the large bed. We were tired but none of us wanted to risk sleeping in this house filled with strangers. Avery seemed to get an idea and grabbed one of our discarded backpacks and pulled out our worn deck of cards. I called over for some painkillers which earned me some concerned looks from my twins but Avery complied and I dry swallowed the two pills.

We played poker although we didn't bet anything physically I tracked bets in my head. All three of us were good at gambling games and have been playing since we were kids to make some extra money so we were all well matched though I got a few good hands that had me with the most metaphoric chips signalling me as the winner currently.

We played quietly talking in Russian until there was a knock at our door and Avery got up to open it revealing Dante the Douchebag. Who eyed us curiously as he noticed we were playing poker.
