Avery's POV

"We were planning on running from all of this when it first began, you know." The three of us were sitting with our father in one of the sitting rooms. He seemingly sought us out and found us as Quinn messed with the broken TV they took out of the game room.

My statement didn't seem to surprise him as he shrugged, "I figured as much after getting to know you three and the things that have happened in the past." I raised my eyebrow knowing there was more, "You three also remind me of myself and I had a tendency to run when there were changes." He paused but I waited and my twins followed my lead. "Your mother, my wife leaving, made me run from my responsibilities for a while, our family were the ones to pick up the pieces and watch over the business and the boys until I got my head on straight."

"Why'd she leave?" It was a harsh question coming from Sawyer and while me and him didn't necessarily care about the woman Quinn did. Said twin paused in her tinkering to listen.

Our father sighed, "Being married to a mafia don must've been hard but in many ways, I think it might've been that she fell out of love with me. The last moments of us being together were not good for anyone and one day I left for work. The boys went to school or to their cousins and when we got back that night she was gone. She packed her things and left a note and we couldn't find any trace of her since. To be honest, though we didn't try all that hard- we figured she wanted to leave so we let her. If we had known about the three of you we would've done anything to find her and you three."

Call me a bitch but I had to hold back an eye-roll at the sappy shit.

Quinn, however, sat next to our father and after a second she hesitantly hugged him and he hugged her back instantly and she whispered something in his ear. I sighed and Sawyer snickered quietly at me.

After the two pulled apart our dad sighed, "I love all my kids, including the three of you, but I always wanted one of my kids to look just like me and now I have the three of you. "You don't know about how the family was before you three came but you guys are the ones who are truly piecing us all together after your mother left."

Quinn smiled softly and I shrugged, "Well this place is better than where we were before."

Sawyer rolled his eyes at my sarcasm, "We feel safe here is what she means," he paused and looked away, "We also feel loved not that Ve would admit it." I glared at him as Quinn nodded and Dad gave a bright smile.

I rolled my eyes, "Okay enough of this sappy shit what did you need us for?"
Dad chuckled, "Your party is in two days, and I am aware the three of you aren't super excited about it but do you have any requests?"

I shrugged, I was hoping we could make an appearance and sneak off giving Cesco all the attention, Sawyer however speaks up, "Um, actually can we invite our friends over for it?"

Even though we haven't done much with them outside of school the girls and us have gotten pretty close and Addison was convinced Quinn and Nikolai were together although she wouldn't say anything to their faces. Willow was clearly trying to hide how interested she was in Alfonso and the posse of girls that follow him and our other brothers around. Well, the twins and triplets most of the girls seem to look at Cesco and Samuele as if they were lost puppies instead of potential hookups as they did our brothers. Then there was the asshole, his twin, and Elliott. I didn't know Elliott too well as he is usually quietly writing during lunch or talking with Sawyer in study hall. The twins however I knew well whether I wanted to know Viktor or not. He basically shoved information about himself down my throat when my twins were focused on their own conversations during lunch and study hall. Nikolai was easy to get to know his personality was obvious from how he led the group and talked with Quinn.
