Avery's POVI knew he was wondering what game we were playing or he knew and was confused why three 15-year-olds were playing poker for a pass time. Either way, he didn't open his mouth to ask, and even if he did we were not going to be telling him anything.
"I came to get you, dinner is ready and our family is waiting to meet you." He sounded more excited and friendly than earlier. While I know and appreciate the saying of first impressions there was no way in hell I'm trusting this asshole with or without a bad attitude.
I rolled my eyes, "Cool," Quinn and Sawyer packed up the cards and Quinn gave a small smirk to us as we walked out the door letting us know she won. Dante didn't talk to us as we walked into the hallway and this pretty much confirmed that he was not much of a talker.
We walked back downstairs at a slow pace and while this Dante guy claimed he was getting us I was in the lead. I already memorized the basic layout of the house we've been shown so far. When we approached the dining room we were shown earlier and I could hear a variety of lower-pitched voices talking although I wasn't quite sure of the subject matter.
I slowed my steps wanting Dante to walk in first so I could be by my twins and no one would be behind us. When Dante walked into the room the conversation stopped and I led my twins into a room filled with men over six feet tall and all of them were sporting more muscles than Jacob. They all had different expressions though I guess we should've expected that.
I kept my face blank knowing that my twins were doing the same. One of the things we have learned is to never give anyone the advantage to know you care. I looked over all the faces, two seemed overjoyed for whatever reason, one seemed happy but less so than the others, the one next to the happy one seemed pissed off and seemed like the twin to the happy one. The oldest of the two tried holding blank faces but I could see the happiness in the younger ones and the older one most likely our biological father seemed to have some unknown emotion going on. And then there was Dante standing to our side looking at us expectantly. I wasn't going to be the one to talk first so I was waiting on them. One thing I could tell automatically watching their whole dynamic was that the older ones seemed to be in some type of business with their perfect name brand suits and I guess our biological father and oldest brother's blank faces obviously trained to hide information.
They seemed to realize we weren't going to talk first and glanced over to their father and what I assume to be their oldest brother telling me that they were loyal and all gave the older one's respect. It was going to be fun seeing their faces when we don't follow this whole respect thing though secretly I could tell that they could kill us easily and we needed to get out of here fast. I just hope that my theory about them being nice at first is correct buying us time.
When I realized they were waiting on us I raised an eyebrow at our father who seemed to gather we weren't going to talk then. "How about we all introduce ourselves hmm?"
It seemed to be a cue to his sons to start the introductions the oldest one went first, "Hello, piccolos, I'm Leonardo I'm 26 your oldest brother." It was a cold introduction that fit a young businessman.
One of the overjoyed ones went next, "Hi, I'm Remo I'm 24, and you're soon to be favorite brother." He seemed excited at the thought of being our favorite but for me and Quinn, our favorite brother will always be Sawyer.
"As you all know already, I'm Dante. I'm 22." His short introduction was neither friendly or hate-filled fitting his personality.
"I'm Angelo I'm 17," while the introduction was short it was friendly and weirdly kind.
