I've been here for a few days. I didn't think I'd love farming this much but I do. I met willy a few days ago along with a very beautiful man named Elliot. They both talked to me about fishing, as I walked back to the mountain lake to catch some carp for dinner I met a guy named Shane. Hes a dick to say the least.

Today I decided to talk to my neighbors down south, I know they own the ranch and since I really want to get some eggs itd be smart to start being kind to them. Its weird, when I used to live in the city I don't think I've ever purposely ate an egg. I never cooked at home and ate out all the time but now that I think about it I really miss them. Especially a weird meal my sister used go make for me called "doggy breakfast". It was messy but it was eggs sunny side up with bread crumbled inside to soak up the yolk. It was so gross to look at and the idea is gross too but I loved it.

As I got closer a small child ran outside yelling playfully.

Jas: YOU HAVE TO COME FIND ME FIRST!

She looked so excited until she accidently hit me when she ran into my direction without looking up. She fell and apologized quickly.

Y/n:its fine, I saw you coming i should have moved.
Jas:oh....um...I have to hide now
Shane:3...2..1! You better have...oh.
Y/n:hello. Goodbye.

I didn't even want to talk to him. But I felt the need to be curtious. Marnie greeted me as I walked in and we ended up talking until Shane and the little girl named jas came back covered in mud and laughing. He looked....kinda adorable when he smiled. Still a huge asshole though.

Shane:I'll clean up the mess, sorry marnie! Haha
Jas:it was so much fun aunt marnie! Oh...hello again.
Y/n:hello. I should get going, but do you mind if I come by again, marnie?
Shane:ugh
Marnie:of course not! I love company!

I put my earbuds in and started walking back to the farm. I liked listening to an old playlist i made for myself for when i wanted to feel "in love". I haven't been with anyone since high school. It just got to hard to want to or even try after Joja took over my life. Once i got to my porch i took my ear bud out and heard my name being shouted.

Shane:FOR FUCKS SAKE Y/N!

Why? I just wanted him to leave. I didn't actually hate him, i mean I'm new and i dont know his backstory so it could just be a defense. But it made me so upset to see him running after me. Except when he got to my porch out of breathe he looked so funny. It made me giggle. He looked up at me trying to hide my laugh.

Shane:Dude. Seriously? Could you hear me back there at all?!
Y/N: no sorry, i had my earbuds in.
Shane:ugh ok let me catch my breathe.
Y/N:come in.

I motioned him through the door. I saw his smile in the corner of his face and he hopped up the stairs.

Y/N:what's up?
Shane:Marnie asked if you wanted to come for breakfast tomorrow morning. She has a business meeting with the mayor in the afternoon and they usually last until late so...
Y/N:i gave her my number why didn't she text me?
Shane:she doesn't know how to text, y/n.
Y/N: here

I wrote my number without thinking. He didn't seem as mean as earlier, maybe cause it was late..maybe because he was just getting used to the idea of me. Wait..why do i care if he gets used to me around?

Shane:You good?

And i was standing there with no paper in my hand after he took the number. I feel stupid. I started to blush from embarrassment.

Shane:Y/N?
Y/N: yeah! Yeah sorry I'm just lost in thought haha
Shane:thinking about texting me? Haha

He walked out the door as he laughed. My face was redder than a strawberry.
