sleep deprived (shane ☁️)

Its getting late but I still can't sleep. Its been 2 days since Shane left. I tried to let it go...to forget what happened. I went to marnies to ask Shane out but she said he left before the rain started. When I went out looking for him he was on a cliff...I helped him to the hospital but I ended up leaving the flowers at the cliff. Hes been going to therapy and I haven't been able to see him since he was also in rehab at zuzu.

I have bought a bunch of his blue chickens while he's been gone its nice to have something that reminds me of him. The problem is anytime i close my eyes I imagine how he looked on that bed...over the cliff....he said he loved me. I decided since it was pretty early id get some coffee and hang out on the farm for a while.

"Bug? Hey, are you ok?" Seb came down to check on me. "Huh? Y..ya im good just a little tired." I tried to keep my eyes open but I wasn't paying attention. "I have something if you're willing to take it" I looked at him too tired to say no at this point. He handed me some sleeping medication that he usually takes when he gets nightmares or panic attacks at night. I took 2 and he put me in bed where I was out. "Hey before you pass out, do you want me to stay or go?" I quietly said stay as the pillow sucked me into my dreams.

I'm coming back to stardew today. Harvey and I agreed it'd be best if I was hospitalized for a little. They are having me on therapy calls everyday at 3pm and If I miss any they'll call Harvey. I wanted to go see y/n before I went anywhere else though so as I got off the bus I headed over.

*knock* "anyone home?" I yelled and Sébastien answered the door angrily. "Shh! They haven't slept in a few days, hold on" seb cane out and shut the door. We walked to the end of the stairs and both sat down. "So how are you?" He asked, it didn't seem like he knew what happened. "Better now. What happened, why haven't they slept?" I turned to him and he had a furrowed brow. "I..don't know. They called me telling me how they finally got the courage to...do something and next I knew they just came back from Harvey's and they were crying. They haven't told anyone what happened but everytime I text them or have come by theyve been awake." He seemed more upset as he talked about it. I realized they were the one to take me to Harvey's.

They saved my life that night and It scared them. I probably said some fucked up stuff on top of it. Ugh I wish they were awake now. "Hey why don't you go home, I'd like to be here when they get up." He nodded and walked up the hill. I looked back in the house and made some pepper poppers and put on a movie. It was 4am, I was asleep on the couch when I heard them wake up. I got up and went to their room. "H...hey chicken." They looked up confused. "What time is it?" I sat with them on the bed, "4am. You've slept awhile." "This is a dream ya?" I didn't understand why they thought it was a dream and I really don't know why I said yes.

"Hmmm...I hope you're ok then. I really miss you." They rested their head on my shoulder, and my heart was beating too quickly. "I am...thanks to you. And I missed you too chicken." I kissed their head. "Shane....I wish I asked you out sooner. Hopefully when you're back ill get the courage again to do it." I could see their eyes drooping shut. Thats what seb was talking about, they came to see me...and I was about to end it. Oh yoba I feel like an ass.

I ended up passing back out in their bed with them.

*y/n pov*

I woke up to shane in my bed, he must've come back last night and came to check on me. My face was hot and I felt stupid, im not sure if any of my dreams were real or not now. I only saw him in every one and they were all so realistic I couldn't be sure, so I went to the bathroom to shower instead and hopefully cool down.

"M..morning chicken." His groggy sleepy voice reached the bathroom right before I shut the door. I felt my heart stop and that heat from my face get hotter and butterflies fill my stomach. He was the first thing I heard and it was the only thing I've been wanting to hear for a long time.

"Mm..morning" I mumbled and shut the door as I started my shower and started blushing my teeth waiting for the water to get hot. I jumped in and heard Shane open the door, "hey ill be back in a bit ok?" He sounded upset but I told him I'd see him later and he shut the door. When I got out my house was still messy from whatever him or seb or both of them did last night. I cleaned everything up and called seb to thank him.

"Im just glad you slept, bug. We were all worried. So what happened with shane?" I could hear the smile in his voice and I tried not to blush, "nothing happened. Not that I know of. He was in my bed but we just cuddled. He left maybe 20 minutes ago..." I looked out the window to see if he was coming back but it looked like no sign. I realized I should go to the chickens anyway. I hung up telling seb I'd see him after I get more rest and fed my animals. They all looked happier then normal as if they got extra pets and attention then normal.

I checked my phone but nothing, Shane was probably assuring Emily and marnie and jas he was ok. Itll be a while till he's back. I finished my chores and decided it was a good idea to nap. As I headed inside I swear I heard my name but no one was there, so I went and made some tea too. Shane had called me and I missed it so I called back to have no answer.

"Hey chicken? You home?" Shane stood at my porch. "Yeah I was gonna lay down. Wanna come inside?" He smiled and headed in. "Y/n before anything else...here." he handed me a bouquet. "I also took the one you left at the cliff...its in my room hanging on the wall since the flowers kinda died but they are still good...and there. And I love them." I smiled and took the flowers and hung them upside down on my wall as well.
