Y/n's POV:
For the rest of the day we work on my skills, but I have this draw to Peter, which makes me distracted the whole time. Turns out he is incredibly strong and can stick to walls much easier than I can. I sit down and get a drink of water. Peter is on the other side of the room and Steve is talking to him.
"Queens, if you're trying to show off for Y/n, I don't think it's working." Oh Steve it's definitely working.
"What, I'm not trying to show off. I barely know her." Steve smiles and puts a hand on Peters shoulder. He whispers something to him and Peter looks back at me. He turns back and nods at Steve. Steve shrugs and starts to walk towards the door.
"Night Y/n. Good job today." I salute and he chuckles.
Peter walks over to me and does this closed lip smile that makes my heart skip. How is he doing this to me?
"So um where are you from?" He asks and sits down next to me.
"I'm from (your home town) but after that incident I'm here." He nods.
"So you killed the guy?"
"Yeah but it was for a good reason Kail was a prick." I tell him and his eyebrows raise at the word prick.
"You guys all have a problem with profanities. Every time I curse all of you look at me surprised. I mean you guys go battle with monsters and shit and you're telling me none of you curse?" I ask and he laughs.
"Well Steve keeps it pretty clean here so we aren't entirely used to it." I snort.
"Jeez what an old man." I murmur and stand up. He stands up too and grabs his bag. He smiles at me.
"I like you Peter. I'm glad I have a friend here that isn't a hundred years old." His face drops slightly but he covers it up quickly.
"Goodnight Y/n." I wave and walk out the door. Jesus Christ. I'm not in the right headspace for a relationship and besides, he's way out of my league. I've lost too many good people, and I don't want to get too close to him just to get hurt again.
Peters POV:
I walk back to my room and lay on my bed. I suddenly hear loud music coming from the walls and get up to see who is in the next room. The door has been painted to light green and has Y/n's name printed at eye level. My heart skips and I realize she is my next door neighbor. The music stops and I'm afraid she sensed I am there. I run back to my room and fall onto my bed. I sigh.
"We're just friends." I whisper to myself. She made it clear. Nothing more nothing less.
Besides, she's way out of my league.
Hey besties sorry for the short chapter I'm on a road trip so get ready for a bunch of chapters in the next few days. Xoxo
