Messy. Complicated. Simply stupid.
Those are the words that Y/n would describe any relationship she's ever been in. In fact, after her fathers passing in a car wreck, that's how she would describe her life as a whole. It gets even more complicated w...
I wake up the next morning confused about last night. I can't think of Peter for too long because JARVIS tells me over the intercom that Tony wants to see me. I groan and roll out of bed, wishing I could stay in the warmth of my covers and ignore my life's problems.
I walk into the laundry room and grab a bra and a shirt from my laundry basket. Because there is so many people in the tower, clothes can get mixed up a lot. The shirt i grab doesn't look like mine but I'm too tired to care. I change quickly and brush through my hair before going to the workshop.
The workshop is a complete mess and is littered with spare parts. I kick a wrapper from a cheeseburger away and sit down in a desk chair. Tony is banging a piece of steel with a hammer and AC/DC is on full blast. "Hey Uncle Stark." He doesn't even realize I'm here. I take a balled up napkin and throw it at his head. He turns and nods at me. "Hey Frizzle." He turns down the music and sits on his desk. He looks down and breathes, and I begin to feel nervous.
"Y/n, when you look at all the Avengers, what do you see? Excluding Wanda and Vision." I yawn and rub my eyes. "I don't know like a bunch of mentally ill people?" He smiles and shakes his head. "No well yeah but no. The answer I was looking for is none of them are dating one another. See we kind of have this unspoken rule here that we don't like things getting messy relationship wise." I furrow my brows.
"Ok fine by me but why are you telling me this?" He narrows his eyes at me and grabs a remote from his desk. He flips on a screen that shows my door and Peters door. I watch as Peter carries me bridal style into my room and then come back out with a smile on his face. I check the date of the recording. "Ok. I can see why that looks suspicious." I say and he looks at me, waiting for an explanation.
"That was the day we were all watching Titanic. Peter and I don't like the movie so we went to his room and watched Star Wars. I fell asleep and he brought me to my room." He raises his eyebrows. "That's it?" "Yes." He nods and I pinch my palm, a nervous grin forming on my face.
"Well, what about this one?" He flips to another one. It shows Peter pulling on his shirt before walking into my room. He walks out with a pep in his step. Shit that looks bad. "I had a nightmare and he somehow knew that. He came in and comforted me." "Oh really? How did he comfort you?" My jaw drops and I almost laugh. "Jesus Uncle Stank. You think Parker and I are..." I stick my finger into a hole I made with my hand. He shrugs.
"You two sure have been spending a lot of time together. Who knows what you guys are up to." I roll my eyes and scoff. "I promise you Tony that Peter and I are just friends." "You sure act like more." He murmurs. I spin around in the chair but he stops me with his foot.
"Besides if it was more why would you care?" "I'm your parental guardian and I have to take care of you and the team. I don't want you getting hurt and I can't have you distracting Peter." I don't answer because a part of me knows he's right.
"Now that's settled. That isn't the only reason I called you in here." He stands and presses a few buttons on his keyboard. A cylindrical case rises from the floor and he slides it open. Inside is a dark purple and black bodysuit with a spiderweb design lacing the torso. A spider is set on the chest. "I hate to break it to you but I don't think purple is Peters color." I say and come closer to it. It really is a beautiful suit. "No nitwit it isn't for Peter. It's for you." I look at him and back at the suit. "Only if you agree to become an Avenger and stop killing people." My breath hitches as I think. "Can I try it on?" He nods and I grab the suit. He pushes some more buttons and I'm suddenly surrounded by curtains.

So it would look something like that but with out the cape for obvious reasons.
I walk out of the curtains and do a spin for Stark. "Good it fits. How does it feel?" He asks, adjusting my headpiece. "It feels good I don't know what it looks like." He walks over and taps on one of his walls. It turns into a mirror so I can see myself. The suit really does look amazing. It fits every curve but it is flexible. There's a pad on the palm of my hand. I press it and a long web shoots out, covering the wall. "Oops." Tony shakes his head. "Y/n. We could really use you on the team. You have the smarts and the strength to be with us, but you have to decide what is the most important to you. Will you step up and help us or go back to living your life how it was?" I look at the freeze frame of Peter walking back to his room with a smile on his face. I look back at the mirror and the reflection before me, and I barely recognize myself. Where did Y/n go? She has been replaced with this person before her, who looks strong and smart. Too confident. Stoic. An Avenger.
It terrifies me.
"Can I eat on it?" "I'm sorry eat on it?" "I mean can I eat and think about this and then get back with you about it later today?" He sighs and rubs his forehead. "Yeah just change out of the suit before you go." I thank him and go back under the curtain.
As soon as I'm changed I get out of earshot of Stark. I open my phone and dial in a number. "Hey L/n." "Hi." Just hearing his voice relaxes me. It pisses me off even more. "Are you okay?" How can he hear that just from a simple greeting? "No. Do you wanna have lunch with me? I need to talk to someone." "Of course Y/n."
I walk to a cafeteria type room located in the tower and see that Peter is the only one there. He has two large textbooks opened in front of him and is wearing thick black glasses. My heart skips and I want to kick myself. "Hey." I say and sit down across from him. He murmurs a hello but does a double take of my outfit. His face turns red. "What?" "N-nothing." He looks back down at his book and continues to read. He bites his lip. "Peter I've had a lot happen today and it's only noon. Just tell me. Do I look bad or something?" I look down at my outfit of sweatpants and the shirt that isn't mine. "No no you look good I mean not in a weird way just...um. Th-that's my shirt." Of course it is.
