Y'all I promise it's going to get happier soon lol I think this is the last sad one be prepared tho idk how sad it's gonna be yet-

Y/n's POV:

I punch at the punching bag with all the force I can. Maybe if I punch hard enough, then it will send me into a whole other universe, where I didn't push Kail and I didn't have to leave home. Or even earlier, a universe where my dad didn't die. A universe where it would just be normal.

Maybe if I punch hard enough, then I won't have to go to that stupid dance with that stupid boy who isn't Peter.

As soon as I got home yesterday I changed and went to the workout room. I worked out until I was about to collapse and Steve had to come in and stop me. But Steve isn't at the tower, so I can workout all day if I want to.

I'm about to increase the incline on the treadmill when I hear JARVIS come over the intercom.
"Tony requires your presence. He's in the living quarters." I gulp down water and hop off the treadmill. I almost can't walk, so I stumble to the living room where Tony is at the bar.

"Already drinking at noon?" I ask. He points a finger at me and I put my hands up in defense.
"Your mom is coming. Apparently you haven't been answering your phone calls so I arranged it. I have to consume as much alcohol as I can before I have to have family bonding time."

I had thrown my phone somewhere in my massive pile of laundry and haven't found it yet. I hold in a groan. It's not like I don't want to see her, but I'm not in the best state right now. I'm not her strong daughter that she is used to.

"Ok. Is that all? Why did you make me walk all the way down here?" He sets down what I assume is whiskey and puts his hands on the counter.

"No. You know the mission we had with you and Peter?" I nod and sit down across from him. "Well, the man who was leading the group, we questioned him a few days ago, and," He makes a sound at the back of his throat and takes another drink.
"And what?" I press.

"He's somehow connected to your father. We think he worked for your dad and that man Austin that escaped the police station a few months ago. He helped Austin break out and set up an Avengers level threat. We think he wanted to take you." I sit up in my chair, a heavy feeling falling to my chest.

"They wanted to take the serum out of me. God can't they just quit already?" I groan and stand up, pacing the room.
"I think it's best if you stay here. We can talk to the school and get a week off for you. Say you're doing charity work or something and then you can spend time with your mom and not have to worry about-"

"Being watched." I remember the dreaded feeling of someone always there, watching my every move and just waiting for the right moment. This is good. I can avoid the trouble at school and hang out with Mom. Hell, I could probably skip the dance if I asked.

Tony and I talk for a little bit and then I go to my room. I take a shower and think about what he said. My mom is coming this afternoon and will stay nearby. I'll stay with her and check in at the tower everyday to make sure nothing has happened. Hopefully if I drop off the grid for a bit then they'll stop. Deep down I know it won't by how hard they're trying. They won't stop until they have the serum back. Until they have me.

I'm putting away my shirts when a box falls from the top shelf. Shit. I almost forgot about it. May had given it to me a while ago, the day after the party. I didn't want to open it. I had left it on the shelf, not having the strength to throw it away but also too nervous to see what's inside.

My initial reaction to this given to me is that it doesn't matter what's in it. What's past had passed, and it won't change anything. But, it's been in the back of my mind since I got it. A small part of my brain, granted, but it's still there. If we're going to finally move on, then I have to open it. Rip off the bandaid I've left for weeks.
