Y/n's POV:
I spend the next two weeks working more on my web-shooting skills and school work. Working out is easy compared to the work Tony and Bruce give me. They try to make it harder and harder for me because "I need to challenge myself" but I think they're just being mean. I sometimes miss my old school. Not the boys, but the teachers and Rachel. Rachel has texted me a few times, but I won't tell her or my mom that I'm Spider Woman. I don't usually keep secrets from my friends and family, so it's hard for me not to tell them all that's going on. I'm glad I have Peter to talk to about everything. If I didn't have him, I would go insane from all the stuff I'm hiding from my mom.
Speaking of Peter, I want to say I'm trying to distance from him, but I'm not. He always checks in on me and if he's busy with school then he texts me all the time when he's with his aunt. He makes it way too damn hard to stay away from.
For example, a few days ago I was working out with him and practicing my aim with the web shooters. Tony has set up a target in the workout room so it's easier for me to practice. I was getting frustrated with the wrist strap and got a hand cramp.
"No you're doing it wrong." Peter says. He stands up and jogs over to me. He stops a few feet away. "May I?" He motions to helping me and I smile, remembering the first day we met in here. He comes closer and stands behind me. I feel his breath on the back of my neck and I get butterflies. Peter slides his hand from my elbow down my forearm. He softly rests his hand on my wrist and turns it upward more than I had before.
"You see, you gotta keep your wrist up or else your aim will be off." He says softly into my ear as if it's a secret. Jesus Christ.
He puts a hand hesitantly on my waist and my breath hitches. He moves my hip back a little, causing me to stumble. He grips my waist tighter.
"You okay?" I nod. God no.
"Move your foot back a little," he puts his foot in front of my ankle and pulls it back towards him. Our bodies are touching now, but I don't move. "Now just relax." He mutters and moves away from me. I almost move my body so he can come and readjust me again.
"Now shoot." I press on the button with my middle finger and it flings out right in the middle of the target. I laugh in relief and he applauds for me.
"See? Not so hard." I roll my eyes and he runs a hand through his hair.
"Thank you." I say and he smiles.
"Of course. Hey um," he starts and looks down at his hands.
"Yes?" I ask and squat down to tie my shoe. I look up at him and he swallows.
"Uh, I was wondering if you wanted to-" before he could finish, JARVIS voice tells Peter that Stark needs to see him. I stand up and Peter looks toward the door. He has a great jawline. Shut up Y/n.
"You should probably go." I say and he nods.
"Um yeah I guess I'll see you later." He seems disappointed.
"Hey were you gonna say something?" I ask before he leaves.
"What? No. No I wasn't." He goes on murmuring nervously and I laugh.
"Go insect. We can talk later." He smiles and leaves me alone.
Peters POV:
Stupid stupid stupid. The fact I was even going to ask her out in the first place was stupid. She doesn't like me like that.
But jeez the way she's leading me on.
She'll walk into a room when I'm having a conversation and put a hand on my back or squeeze my arm to tell me that's she's there. She knows when I'm having a bad day and makes me tell her about it. She'll tell me cheesy jokes to cheer me up and then we'll watch old 80s movies together. This one time, we were in the drug store getting candy and when we're checking out, she asked me what my favorite color is. I told her it's blue and she ran off for a second. When she came back, she's holding a light blue bottle of nail polish. The next day, she had painted her nails blue.
I mean, what friends do that? This girl is gonna be the death of me.
Y/n's POV:
It's been a few days since then and I'm finally feeling comfortable here with everyone. They're all still intimidating but they're a lot of fun. Sam, Bucky, and I pull pranks on Peter and Steve, which has started a prank war in the tower. Wanda and I like to cook together and I feel like I can confide in Nat more than anyone.
I'm watching a movie in my room when Peter comes in, looking distracted. I turn down the volume of "Irreplaceable You" and wipe away my tears. Peter has been strangely weird around me lately, but he seems to forget that and lays down close to me on my bed.
"You're crying."
"No shit this is one of the saddest movies of all time."
I sniff and grab my bag of chocolate chips. He holds out his hand and I pour a few chips into it. We sit in silence as I cry more over the movie. I put my head on his shoulder and he doesn't move away. He leans his head against mine and we stay like that for a while. Once the credits roll, I groan and hit my head on my headboard. He looks at me with a strange expression.
"I know I look insane but don't say anything." I shoo him away but he stays on my bed. I close my eyes for a minute and he taps on my forehead. I open my eyes and he hesitantly pushes a piece of hair behind my ear. I blush and wipe my tears away.
"I think you look really pretty when you cry." I smile and nudge him in the leg with my foot.
"You're too nice to me." He laughs softly and it's only then I realize how close we are. He looks at me but I pretend not to notice. He does this a lot; I'll catch him looking at me or I know he is I just don't care enough to say anything.
"Y/n?"
"Yes?" He seems nervous again and I turn to face him.
"Um, I talked to Tony a few days ago and asked if you could start coming to school with me. He said he would have to talk to your mom but he agreed that it would be good for you to get out more. To "test your capability" of yourself." He does air quotations to say Tony said that about me. He waits for me to answer but I have to let it settle in. I can finally go to school! It's already been almost two months without being in an actual school and I'm so sick of it. But what if there are boys there like Kail? If I have to control myself better, then does that mean I have to be with people like Kail at times?
"Y/n I know it could be scary for you and if you don't want to then-"
"Wait. You talked to him for me when I told you I was too scared to ask?" We had talked about me going to school with him before but I had told him I was too scared of what Tony would say. He rubs the back of his neck and in the light of my lamp I can tell he's blushing.
"Well y-yeah I like you a lot Y/n and it seems like a big deal to you so-"
And I don't know if it's the soft shirt he's wearing or the kind gesture, but I can't stop myself from kissing him.
It's a sweet, short kiss and I pull away quickly. His mouth is open and his eyes are wide and I realize what I've done.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry." Before I can say anything else, he has kissed me again. He holds my face with one of his hands and the other goes to my hair. His lips are soft but strong and he knows what he's doing. I can taste the chocolate in his mouth as he kisses me more. It drives me crazy. I pull at his shirt to bring him closer to me and he does. I put my hand through his amazing hair and all of my worries and pains disappear for a moment. He pulls away and rests his forehead against mine, his hands cradling my head. He has incredibly gentle hands.
"I've been wanting to do that for so long." He confesses and I grin. He kisses me softly again.
"I really like you too Peter. Thank you for asking Stark for me." He smiles at me and eyes the alarm clock on my night stand.
"Oh crap. It's already midnight I have school tomorrow." He stands up and then turns back around. I sit up on my knees and kiss him one more time. I can't get enough of him.
"Goodnight Y/n." I bite my lip and smile.
"Goodnight Parker." He walks out of my room and I scream into my pillow.
God this boy is gonna be the death of me.
