For specialsuga because I just decided so

Soobin throws one last quick look into the small mirror inside of his car. His hair looks okay, his clothes look okay, everything looks okay. Not stunning, but Yeonjun will have to deal with 'okay' today.

It's a rather sunny day. Perfect for this occasion.

Yeonjun and Soobin have been texting for the last few weeks after Soobin's friend Taehyun somehow managed to convince Soobin to text his instagram crush, the professional dancer Yeonjun. And ... well ... Yeonjun texted back. Soobin thought at some point Yeonjun might get tired of him but nothing like that has happened - yet (legit me jdjdjkasjeukksmd i don't know how you keep up with my bullshit).

They facetimed yesterday for about an hour, talked about everything and nothing at the same time. And then they finally decided to meet up. Today.

Soobin is early. He knows that. The two of them decided to make it more of a casual date. Just going for a walk along the riverside. Enjoying the warm temperature, the last rays of sun. They set this date for 8 pm so they could watch the sunset together.

Soobin leaves his car. He's nervous. Very nervous. Maybe even scared. This isn't something new to him, but it's different every single time.

What if this ruins everything?

The hour they spent on facetime yesterday was already quite intimidating, they're actually making this a real thing. Or at least trying to make this a real thing.

Soobin sits down on the first bench in sight, just staring at the water. He still has to wait about twenty minutes until Yeonjun will show up. The reflections of the sun in the miniature waves burn in his eyes, it blinds him, but at least it distracts him from his rapidly beating heart.

Soobin waits twenty minutes. He checks his phone. 8 pm. Yeonjun should be here any minute.

Soobin feels like fainting on the spot.

But he's also happy. It's weird, like he's very happy but also not sure if this happiness will be ruined.

After another ten minutes, Soobin returns to his car to get his phone to see if Yeonjun texted him. He left it there on purpose, to not look at it during the date or disturb the atmosphere. He left it there to make Yeonjun feel more comfortable. But there's no message when he unlocks it.

It's just been ten minutes. He'll come.

Soobin decides to wait in his car. This way he'll see Yeonjun immediately when he arrives. If he arrives.

Don't think so negative.

Soobin's ringtone interrupts his thoughts. A new text message. Yeonjun. Soobin already knows what he's going to read. He knows it and he feared it and this is exactly the reason he hates online dating and generally opening up to people. It makes him vulnerable.

Soobin can't help but let his heart be broken once again when he reads the text message.

'I'm so sorry. I can't come. Let's meet up another time. I didn't mean for this to happen.'

Not even a reason. Yeonjun didn't even try to find an excuse. Soobin pulls his legs to his chest, trying not to completely fall apart.

It's not like he went out of his way to get here, it's just been a thirty minutes drive, but Soobin really did invest a lot in this relationship. And now Yeonjun didn't even show up.
