Shiratorizawa was the loudest, most annoying ass cheering squad in what had to be the entire volleyball, no, sports history in Miyagi (at the very least). Yet the words Y/N had said to Iwaizumi, the truth behind the past few months, were the clearest he'd heard through the whole match.

Before he could even process and respond to her, a faint cracking noise from even where they had sat could be heard and both whipped their heads to the court. To everyone except maybe the Shiratorizawa cheerleaders and Ushijima who just always had a blank face, empty shock rippled throughout the arena at the sight of the middle blocker in the center of Karasuno's court, finger snapped and already starting to bruise.

There was an audible gasp among more people as the team called a time-out to quickly get the tall boy off the court at once. He was guided outside the gym and at once, something horribly wrong was afoot.

"I'm baaackkkkk! Damn who died over here it's so depressing." The sly, lilting voice that could only be associated with Oikawa Tooru himself came weaving in. He plopped back into his seat and stared at the court, squinting even through his glasses. "The blondie isn't anywhere is he? What just happ-"

Y/n sprang up and ran out of the stands, leaving Oikawa with two bottles of mint tea in his hands, as Iwaizumi had taken his coffee. "I'm gone for two minutes and there's already a soap opera going on, this sucks."

"Yeah..." Iwaizumi trailed off, Y/n's words had finally sunk in. "Oikawa... has Y/n ever flirted with other guys?"

"Well as a m a s t e r of flirting," Oikawa did a mock hair toss. "I think that Y/n was only nice to people that she wanted to get close to. If you count that as flirting then you're probably just possessive and kinda mean for not trying to see that."

Iwaizumi felt himself actually agree with what his friend had said, and he thought to himself how likely the chances of that happening with Tsukishima really was.

Meanwhile...

Y/n had tripped over herself for the third time as she scrambled her way to where the infirmary could be in this unnecessarily large school building. He'd cast her aside, played with her feelings, and was also a pretty bad person in general. Now she was prettier, rich, independent, and taken by her own idol as if out of a Wattpad story, and she was still clawing her way back to him?

It had to be around the 15th door she'd slammed open when she saw him, alone, clutching his now bandaged fingers.

"Kei!" The familiar but now more confident voice carried over to him.

"No... it's not you." He glared down while trying to somehow get the wetness in his eyes to go back. "It could have been anyone but you."

Y/n rushed over at once to where he sat and squatted into his vision. "Hey, is everything okay?"

He hated it. Her soft voice. Why was she so caring? Even after what he saw... Was she only even here to see him in pain?

"I said is everything okay? Didn't you learn it's rude to ignore someone, especially if they're trying to help you? The least you could do is say you don't want he—" Kei glared to her, about to speak. So she shut up at once.

"Why are you here. It's not for me unless you're still as stupid as you were months ago, so why did you come over here." He looked vulnerable, despite his forced harsh tones, there were semi-evident breaks in his voice.

"Well because someone I know just got seriously injured. It doesn't matter what happened before I just want to make sure you're okay." Y/n felt hesitant to talk about Semi, maybe because of what Iwaizumi had said previously.

"Didn't I hurt you? Is that not why you'd left yet again?" Tsukishima's words were intended with sting but only came out with a soft quiver. His voice had cracked for the first time in a while, sending a chill down Y/n's spine. "W-why?"

"Why'd I come back?" He looked unstable, so she stepped in to save him the trouble. "I... don't know."

She felt like she was going to cry too. "...If everything is okay I'll go. I came with Oikawa-san and Iwaizumi-san."

She left, though nowhere near how fast as she came. Her head ached at the thought of what had just happened. She could still picture his face and  hear his voice calling her. Wait? Calling her?

Her head whipped around and there he was, as if he'd just run as soon as she'd left. "Kei—"

"I'm sorry!" He cut her words. He was crying, a familiar journal more wrecked than she'd remembered.

"How'd you get that?"

"He—he promised this would happen. I'm so sorry Y/n I was scared to hurt you more..."

"Who's he?"

"What do you mean who's he?"

His pale skin drained of the color it had built up. "Well, your friend obviously... the one behind you ..."
