Have you ever been stuck between your heart and your head? Both battling between logic and emotion on whether or not to act based off of just that.
Well Y/N sure as heck wasn't, at least not now. Yet if only she knew what she would be told in mere hours she wouldn't feel so carefree at the moment. Because you see, her and Kei's relationship was about to get an even bigger, more complicated whiplash of information worse than any they'd faced so far.
But I'm getting ahead of myself here. We last left Y/N at coming back from the camp with the rest of Karasuno. She had arrived home, and even though it was late, Chikara put on a movie, and they snuggled together under a soft blanket. And with that feeling of warmth wrapping around the two cousins, they fell asleep right there on the couch.
They didn't hear the shuffle of the window being opened in Y/N's room, they didn't hear the muffled footsteps as the intruder walked around the bedroom, they didn't hear her drawers opened, or some of her clothes being taken. And they hadn't known it had been going on for the past three weeks.
- Morning -
With a yawn and a stretch, Y/N stood from the couch and walked over to the kitchen to make some... well... she'd look it up. She typed the words "breakfast recipe" and colorful images of all sorts of foods from sweet to savory popped up all at once, making the girl more hungry than she already was. She heard a soft groan coming from the couch and remembered she still had to cook for Chikara.
She selected a random Western dish and pulled the ingredients from the pantry, mixing them together before pouring them in the pan on the stove.
She added small drops of various food coloring to make it seem almost tie-dyed and just as she placed the stack of warm pancakes drizzled with syrup on the table, Chikara got up and sat down at the table. They ate silently at first, then the elder stopped.
"So I overheard Kuroo-san and you talking on the second day Y/N-ie."
She choked on the mouthful of pancake she had stuffed in her mouth at once and turned a bright scarlet. "The one conversation about the-"
He sighed, and ran a hand through his straight, black hair. "Look, I understand you're at an age where these things may be interesting to you and hormones or whatever are a thing,"
Y/N turned even redder and tried to interrupt but Chikara wouldn't let her cut in. "So just stay protected at least, and don't do it until you're both really sure."
With that he handed her a stack of small, wrapped plastic packages which she immediately pushed back. "CHIKARA I'M STILL A GODDAMN VIRGIN AND I INTEND TO STAY THAT WAY FOR A WHILE!" She yelled, and now both felt even more embarrassed.
"Oh...." Chikara sighed again. "Well I have no use for these so keep them anyways." With that he left her and the plastic packages in the kitchen as he went to go shower. Y/N glared at them, then scooped them up and placed them into her drawer in her room. Placing a headband on as well as a T-shirt that was white with a black writing "Wings" in a neat yet simple cursive, she walked out feeling refreshed.
Then she heard a doorbell. Y/N of course called to Chikara that she'd get it, and she opened the door to see...
"Oh! Yama-kun!" Sure enough the freckled boy was on the doorstep, with a dark green shirt and light blue jeans that hit perfectly around his ankles. He was fidgeting a bit with the strap of a bag that hung across his body, and it made her suspicious. "What brings you here?"
He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "I wanted to ask if you wanted to do something today, just us. Are you busy at all?"
Y/N smiled back. "Not at all, let's go now." She yelled in direction of her bathroom that she'd be going, yes Chikara was still showering, and they headed out for a nice walk.
The pair chatted away about the longer training camp and now that they knew what would be going on, there was less to fear. They were in front of Sakanoshita Store where their Coach Ukai hummed some old song while sweeping around, and both Y/N and Yamaguchi headed inside to get a cold popsicle to eat.
They paid for the frozen treats, then walked outside into the sunshine again. Y/N sighed softly at the sun's warm touch, and it made Yamaguchi smile just a little.
"Ne... Tadashi." It was the first time he had heard his first name in a while and he stopped to face the girl who stood beside him. "As much as I love your company, what's the real reason for this visit?"
Tadashi flinched and Y/N picked it up at once, staring harder into his eyes. Oh, that all-too-familiar glare of hers. And of course he made the mistake of staring right into those shining eyes, sharp as razors.
He quivered slightly, then took a deep breath in. Looking around, he leaned in close beside her.
"I think you might have a stalker."
She laughed, then saw he was dead serious. "Oh, you really mean it."
Yamaguchi nodded firmly. "I saw this one guy in our class, Nakamura Kai-san." He waited for Y/N to show any sign of recognition, but she just shrugged. Obviously, she still wasn't convinced, especially since she didn't even know this dude.
Of course her friend continued anyways. "Well he sits right behind you so that makes sense. But back to my theory, I saw him writing in this leather-bound notebook during morning classes, and he left to sit with some of his friends for lunch. I saw he was looking at you a lot during the lecture, so I-"
"You stole the book didn't you Yama-kun." Y/N rolled her eyes but couldn't stifle the laugh when he blushed in embarrassment. His silence signified that her prediction was right and she gasped this time. "What the- Tadashi! Where'd you put it?"
He reached into the bag, and sure enough there was a quite pretty looking black notebook, the cover leather and wrapping around the spine. On it was etched only the words in English, "my love".
With a single motion she slid the book out of Yamaguchi's hands and opened the notebook to a random page and she couldn't help but let out a deep breath. Inside it was a sketch of Y/N that had covered perfectly the bored look she saved for lectures, in her exact posture, sitting at a desk with her school uniform on.
Each detail was perfect, from the curve of the tie she had loosened because it was suffocating, all the way to her socks' height.
"Uh... well. He could just like drawing?" Y/N questioned, still breathless at the extraordinary beauty of the picture.
Tadashi shook his head. "That's not all. If you go a few pages after, you'll see why."
So Y/N trusted him and flipped to the pages he asked her to. This time she almost screamed. Inside were notes, written furiously all over. Each was a different sentence, but those sharp lettering started looking more sinister when she read out loud a particular entry.
"My precious has been corrupted. The salty megane-kun can't last forever with her. I don't know what she sees in him at all. Like, seriously. Y/N-chan is so perfect, but I question her sense in men. Good thing I love her so much. Can't wait for that insolent fool to be gone forever. I'll be the only one she loves...?"
Y/N trailed off, then flipped to other pages, some were scribbled drawings of Tsukishima himself, with scratches and horrid words all over his image, and some of her other friends. Seeing even Yamaguchi's name, sweet Tadashi who helped her through thick and thin, she lost it. She turned around, threw up at once, then collapsed backwards into her panicked friend's arms.
Man, that stuffs messed up. Her final thoughts before she completely blacked out, for the second time.
