Kuroo Tetsurou had school. He loved it too. So why was he ditching just to drive his kouhai to Miyagi?

Honestly he didn't know either. But somewhere inside he knew that no matter the outcome, Y/N would end up happy in some way and sad in some way, so he had to be there for his long time friend.

They drove for a good hour (it was good they woke up a bit earlier), until they finally reached the gym where people were filing in already.

"Do you want to see Semi-san? Or anyone on Karasuno?" Tetsurou asked to break the silence that had been upon them since they left.

"Nah, I'll get emotional." She declined right away. "Better to see them in the game so there's something to distract me with."

They walked in and chose seats on the opposite side from the cheering sections which Y/N was shocked to see Karasuno had one as well, headed by the vice principal who once despised the volleyball club, now their biggest cheerleader.

Well not counting Saeko ne-san. She was right at the front as well with some of the alumni, ready to shout out a strong message any moment. It was glorious to see.

All at once, the teams filed in, starting with Karasuno. Y/N caught a glimpse of Chikara and out of the corner of his eye, he saw her too. Even from the distance it looked as if he was ready to cry, he'd missed his little cousin so much.

She waved to him and he smiled with a wave back. Tetsurou felt ignored, but seeing Y/N smile it was worth it.

Kinoshita and Narita picked up on it too and they bowed to her after she waved at them as well.

Shoyo was beaming as usual but in the direction of the larger crowds, so him and Tobio (by his side per usual) didn't see her just yet, but that was okay to her. It just would make her more emotional.

Then came Shiratorizawa and oh boy, the professionalism and confidence that these high school boys were able to radiate was immensely terrifying. Semi really did look good in purple, Y/N noticed.

He saw her from on the court and waved to her, which she happily returned. Unfortunately, Suga (who was staring at Semi probably because of the two's similarities) saw him wave and followed the line of vision to Y/N, and he gasped softly.

He nudged Daichi beside him and soon the captain was also looking, sure enough, at his former kouhai. "Suga what if Tsukishima gets distracted?"

"I don't know." The vice captain sighed. "It'll be a pain but what else can we do? She's not even here for us."

They looked back at Semi together. Then again at Y/N. Oh heck no.

"Suga!" Daichi exclaimed in an almost offended way. Whether it was intended to Sugawara himself or Y/N, he didn't know. "You think that she's just here for him?"

"Maybe for Ennoshita, but the rest of us I'm not sure. Point is, don't let Tsukishima notice. He'd cried for the past month hard enough every time either Yachi or Shimizu gave him his towel, reminded of Y/N. Remember?" Suga recalled with a shudder.

Daichi grimaced as well. "It seems hard to imagine that side of Tsukishima even though we saw it for a full month. I still can't get used to it."

Chikara had heard the conversation and chimed in. "But she said that it was her choice. She'd moved on from the stuff with her mom in the past so she went back where she had better opportunities."

The third year pair nodded in a polite agreement, but all three knew that something would happen if their tallest member saw her again. And none of them thought in a good way.

Back in the stands, Tetsurou got a call so he dismissed himself to pick up. "Moshi mo-"

"Kuroo-san you better not be bunking again."

"Yaku-san I can explain-"

"You better because if you aren't here in five minutes you'll be running suicides at practice."

"Okay first dude, I'm the captain so I don't have to do nothing. Second I'm in freaking Miyagi so I can't be there in five minutes it's against traffic laws."

"Are you showing me sass you emo overgrown rooster head? Get your ass back to Nekoma or I'm telling sensei exactly where you are."

"Morisukeeee let me stay I drove for an hour!"

"Kenma asked where you were."

"Heading out now."

He put his phone away and told Y/N quickly that he had to go, and she nodded.

"Let me walk you to the top at least if you're leaving."

They walked up the stairs and she spotted someone familiar at the highest of the bleachers on her side. "Oikawa-san! What're you doing here?"

"Oh hey Y/N-chan!" He waved to her. "Weren't you gone for a month? I didn't see you at the spring tournament."

"Yeah I actually transferred and they had an exchange student program of a month, so I was in the US."

"Well then," Tetsurou said between. "Stay with idol-senpai here Y/N and I'll go before Morisuke gets mad enough to beat me up at practice."

The pair sat down together to watch the teams warm up and then Y/N asked Oikawa, "Don't you hate both the teams?"

With a sigh, he replied, "Yeah, and I don't want either to win. But then I realized I can look at some techniques and stuff from both sides."

"As if that's true." A scoff from behind them came. "What's the real reason Trashykawa?"

"Iwa-chan!" The other male indignantly said. "How could you think such a thing!"

Iwaizumi rolled his eyes and sat down as well. "Y/N don't trust this boy he's probably thinking some mean girl reason for being here."

Y/N giggled and Oikawa was about to throw hands when a loud beep was heard.

The finals were to start.

A/N:

Also now you kinda see why it's Semi? Because karasuno vs shiratorizawa? No?

As usual imma be annoying and say the whole "vote and/or comment if you enjoyed!"

And also message me anytime on my insta saishimi_journals or sushimodel (my main) if you wanna talk!
