Akiteru immediately allowed Y/N inside after hearing her state her name. He even went as far as to jump in calling her by her first name at once, no honorifics. "Y/N come in! Make yourself at home because one day it might be- OWWW KEI WHAT THE HE-"
Y/N kinda liked the attention though, so she nudged Kei in a Be nice to Aki Onii-chan because I said so, dumbass kinda way and he got the message as he rolled his eyes playfully back. The three sat down at the table and Y/N opened the bag. "I brought a cake for your family to enjoy, I hope the selection was no problem!"
Kei looked into her eyes and she smiled confidently back. Did she just use the innocent little sister-in-law card? Y/N nodded slightly as the realization dawned upon him. Akiteru noticed the unspoken battle between the couple and interpreted it as just a certain type of tension between them, so he broke it up by just talking with Y/N. "Y/N you're also in the college preparatory class with Kei, what do you plan to major in?"
Y/N thought for a second, then answered with no flaw, "I got into the college prep classes so I could learn better what I can do best, and during my high-school years I want to shift my focus on a major that maximizes my strengths as much as possible. I haven't really decided just yet, though." Remembering at once Akiteru was in a college age himself and knowing that he was hardly home, she asked him a question in return, like a swift set for him to verbally spike his wisdom. "What made you choose your major Onii-chan?"
Nice toss, Y/N. Kei nodded to himself. Aki responded with a laugh, "I chose my major because strengths or not, it was something that I knew I'd enjoy. I'm not as completely study oriented as Kei here but I do think they are important."
While the two were talking, Kei had already sliced the cake, surprisingly a strawberry shortcake (yes I will give you a basic tsuki-cliche ha) and placed three plates on the table, one in front of each person. So everyone ate, Y/N and Aki laughed over the stupidest things, turns out they had a common manga that they liked so they made TONS of references and gushed over all sorts of characters.
"Okay but Shiggy is babyyyyy I don't care if he has issues he deserves a nice redemption arc!" Y/N huffed in finality.
Aki nodded in agreement. "Tomura just seems to connect on a spiritual level, you know? Almost like we know each other but not really because fourth wall."
Kei was confused and terrified that his energetic girlfriend and even more energetic brother had bonded so fast already. "Uh... who the heck is Tomura? And what's a Shiggy?"
But before either of them could go full-blown attack mode, a woman's voice called from behind a walking mountain of groceries. "Akiteru, could you help me real quick?"
The older brother got up at once and started helping put the items away in their designated spots and Y/N saw a really pretty woman shorter than both Tsukishima Siblings but with a light brown hair that matched Akiteru's. Her eyes lit up the second she saw Y/N sitting at the table beside Kei and she rushed over at once.
"Hello sweetie," The woman cooed softly to her. "Are you Kei's friend?"
Y/N smiled brightly to her in return. "I'm his girlfriend, yes! Are you Kei's older sister?"
The woman pinched her cheek but in a gentle way that wouldn't hurt the innocent looking creature before her. "You're so adorable but I'm the mother of these little rats here." She gestured to an even more embarrased Kei and Akiteru who was happily chomping away at a banana. "And please, if this salty little one here calls such a gorgeous young woman his girlfriend please call me Okaa-san! (Meaning - Mom/Mother)"
Okaa-san, huh? Now Y/N didn't know why at that moment she remembered her own mother but it happened anyways. So of course she didn't expect the warm feeling in her heart, one that she'd missed for so long.
Y/N felt a soft squeeze on her hand under the table and realized Kei had noticed her lost in thought. She smiled inside herself and squeezed once back to show she was okay. The three Tsukishimas sat at the table and continued discussion, but Y/N said soon she had to go home.
"Awww I'll miss you Y/N-chan! Come again soon?" Mother Tsukishima said and Y/N nodded at once.
Akiteru gave her a hug as she got up and she hugged him back before Kei whisked her away. "I'll walk her home."
So before either could stop them, Kei and Y/N were outside in the crisp night air walking home.
"That reminds me." Kei spoke to break the silence. "What IS a 'Shiggy'? I bet he's not as cool as me." Y/N giggled at this.
"He's an amazing anime character who can disintegrate things just by touching them with all five fingers." Y/N explained, then pulled up a picture of the blue-haired villain on her phone.
Kei glared at the picture then pointed to the character. "He's so crusty, though. Not to mention all those hands, it's creepy."
Y/N rolled her eyes and sighed that sounded much like, normies. But she reached up and gave him a peck on the cheek with the soft words, "Yeah, you're even cooler." And on that note, she left him in front of her house as she darted inside without any further conversation.
No, I'm not.
