By the time Kei had reached the classroom again, he saw Y/N's head back on her desk with Tadashi worriedly talking to her in a hushed tone. Unfortunately by the time he reached to them the bell signalling the break's end.
The lessons continued and Y/N, who's head was on her desk the whole time, had cried so hard she drifted into a deep sleep. The figures in her dream were blurred and the voices muffled. Everytime she called out to someone, her throat felt like it'd rip apart at once. Soon, she saw a tall boy with his glasses broken and blood on his face, crying and screaming to her as he ran to her. "Y/N! Oh my god... I did this? No... Don't leave me! Y/N WAKE UP!"
"Y/N-chan wake up! We have to go to club now, school ended." Y/N jolted awake and saw Yamaguchi leaning towards her with his bag slung over his shoulder. "Tsukki left already, so let's go."
"Ah! Hai, let's go." She got up abruptly and picked up her bag as she walked alongside her friend.
They talked about the upcoming training camp and what it would be like. When Y/N told Tadashi that all the schools there would be extremely top tier, he shivered. "And I'm bad enough as it is...."
Y/N punched him in the shoulder and the tall boy winced. "Tadashi, are you stupid or something?"
"Eh?!" He looked at her with wide eyes while clutching his arm where Y/N had hit it.
She only stared back. "You work so hard and your serves improve every time you hit one, so stop with the whole moody teenager who thinks they have no purpose or whatever vibe." She waited with a pointed look at her friend who laughed at her overwhelming seriousness.
"Yeah, okay. I believe you Enno-chan." Y/N perked up at the new nickname and Yamaguchi self-consciously hid his face in his hands while blushing profusely. "Ah, gomen gomen! Was that weird? I'm really-"
"No way!" Y/N beamed happily for the first time that day. "I thought it was cute! Then can I call you Yama-kun in return?!" She remembered the nickname she had thought of on her very first day at Karasuno.
They laughed together and he nodded, walking into the club room together. Facing opposite walls they changed quickly into the athletic attire suitable for the volleyball practice. Walking out they continued talking animatedly, so deep in their conversation they didn't even notice Hinata and Kageyama saw them leave the changing room together.
The tangerine-blueberry duo turned red at how close the two were to trust each other enough to change in the same room. Hinata was about to call out to Y/N but Kageyama hushed him at once. "Hinata boke let them talk."
With that, the tall setter dragged his teammate into the club room to get changed themselves.
Meanwhile, Y/N and Yamaguchi had entered the gym still laughing. The boy said he would go warm up, so Y/N took his towel and water bottle to where Kiyoko was waiting with a smile.
Soon the boys had all arrived and did their dynamic warmup together, leaving stretching last. Feeling in a mood to join them, Y/N speed walked over to them and sat down next to Sugawara who smiled at her. The next stretch required them to open their legs in a half straddle and reach down the middle, to which Y/N did with ease, even going as far as touching her forehead down to the floor with her arms.
Hinata saw her deep stretch and let out a breathy wow. "Y/N-san you're so flexibleeee! So cool!!"
The rest of the first years as well as Nishinoya and Tanaka turned to see, even though the second years and third years were used to it by now, it was really pretty to see her arcing form even doing basic stretches.
Tsukishima sighed ever so softly. How did I manage to screw up so badly this time? The boy turned away and his movement caught the eye of Yamaguchi who felt a troubled twist in his stomach. Both of his close friends were hot-headed and stubborn, so what ever they fought about was clearly not going to be resolved anytime soon.
They concluded stretches a couple of minutes later, and before they lined up to start drills, Y/N pulled on Daichi's arm a little. He saw and walked with her to the side where Suga joined them in curiosity. "Daichi-san, and Suga-san too, when are you guys going to...tell the team?" Her voice lowered a bit and they smiled back at her.
Suga simply ruffled her hair and said not to worry. "We won't wait much longer, it's okay Y/N-ie!"
With that practice began with the serving drills and Y/N walked over to Kiyoko once more. They noted each player's strengths while serving and what to look out for and fix in silence, the only noise coming from the players themselves.
The first year girl looked at Tadashi and he tossed the ball up to set up his jump-float serve, and with a controlled jump and steady swing, the ball stopped it's spin, allowing a shaky and unpredictable line of motion that got by even Nishinoya who was receiving on the other side of the net for practice.
She smiled and Tadashi blushed in a small self victory as Nishinoya called, "Nice serve!"
Then, unexpectedly, Shimizu turned to her kouhai. "Ennoshita-chan, I was thinking that I'd be leaving sooner than later and you'd be the only manager." Y/N slowly nodded, just now realizing the third years would all graduate soon.
"So what if we find another manager to help you out and give you some company?" Y/N beamed, proud that her senpai cared that much. She agreed at once and then the two made arrangements to start looking for a new manager.
Faster than Nishinoya could scream "ROLLING THUNDER!" practice seemed to end and the team took a final be water break while Daichi went over the whole deal with the training camp. Y/N had nothing to worry about grades-wise, but it seemed like the test scores would matter a lot to go to this trip.
But Daichi wasn't finished yet, no. With Suga by his side he said strongly, "And on a final, unrelated note, Suga and I are officially dating as of now."
A/N:
I hate this book. Legit. My writing is trash enough, and I've screwed up the plot so much that it's so weird and chunky and just.... no.
