The match began at last.

Kageyama's amazing tosses that always seemed to fit right into Tanaka's hand which in turn smashed the ball towards the ground at high speeds. Hinata received fairly well as well, and Kageyama thought so as well. The toss arched beautifully in the air and Hinata gathered himself, flew into the air for his spike...

And was blocked by a certain blond beanpole all of a sudden.

Y/N groaned in disappointment and shouted to Kageyama extremely loud so that everyone in the gym turned to stare.

"DON'T GIVE UP ON HINATA-KUN! STAY WITH HIM UNTIL HE CAN LAND A SPIKE! HE WILL DO IT SO PROVIDE THE BEST TOSS!"

Hinata's eyes burned with passion for the game and gratitude for the comment while Kageyama looked to Y/N with not surprise but an affirmative nod and Suga-san said to them, "Try to use Hinata's characteristics better!"

This sparked something inside the setter and he whispered something to the smaller boy intensely. Tanaka who heard, laughed and said something as well, lip reading Tanaka, Y/N thought it was something like, That's how you explain a quick?

Of course! Y/N thought. A quick just might work!

The six total began the start of the next point, and the ball was received cleanly from Tanaka, allowing a beautiful opportunity.

Like a gorgeous orange flame, Hinata blazed across the court and flew even higher, even faster than before. All of a sudden, as if cued, an extremely fast and pinpoint accurate toss was launched right to Hinata and he swung with all his might, the ball shooting with a wicked speed into the other side of the court.

Silence. Then screaming of joy from Hinata and Tanaka as they danced around at the victory.

Tsukishima looked confused. "I don't see how that was any different from a magical Osama's quick?" To which Daichi replied absolutely shook...

"Dude, Hinata's eyes were closed the whole time...."

Kageyama joined Tsukishima's loud HUH?! and Daichi explained how from the moment Hinata had left the ground through the spike, he had kept his eyes shut tight.

Y/N almost cried in joy and it took all her willpower not to fling herself on to the court and smoosh the blueberry setter and grinning spiker in a huge hug.

What was wrong with her? Physical contact? On PURPOSE?!

So instead, she screamed, "NICE KILLLLLL HINATA AND KAGEYAMA!!!" on the top of her lungs while Sugawara joined in on your dance around the confused score-keeping Narita-san and Kinoshita-san.

She stopped and turned to the smiling boys with a final nod of satisfaction and the game progressed.

The fast attack wasn't working well much after that, so the rest of the team started wondering if it was all a fluke the whole time.

Though in the end, Tsukishima's high blocks were defeated by Hinata's spikes, and Tanaka helped break through Daichi's steady receives as well. Kageyama's strong jump serves also caused lots of points to be gained.

Yamaguchi-kun played well and after Hinata somehow managed to shake Tsukishima's hand at the end, with the taller of the two staring horrified at his hand with Yamaguchi worriedly asking if he was alright, Y/N intensely congratulated Tanaka-san and even though in a -senpai to make it better.

She did give both Hinata and Kageyama a huge hug each, with Hinata she complimented his spikes and receives thoroughly and for Kageyama she begged him to teach her some of his tosses because she also used to play setter.

"Oh? You played setter?" The tall raven haired male questioned.

Hinata, bouncing in the conversation, said, "You played volleyball?!"

Y/N laughed as some of the team gathered to hear her story.

"Yes! In middle school, I made friends with a couple of my senpai. One of them was a middle blocker but would ask the other to set for him. Because sometimes the boy who used to set was gone or he just didn't want to practice," Y/N chuckled at the memory.

"They taught me how to set, and I fell in love with the game. When I visited Chikara, I would love to set for his practice spiking, eventually leading to him being wing spiker."

The deviant duo nodded in understanding and a last group hug was exchanged before Y/N realized she had to talk to Yamaguchi-kun about the match.

Waving and flashing a small peace sign, Y/N walked over to the other first years and the clump that had gathered was sifting out to help clean up.

"Ano, Yamaguchi-kun?" Y/N said with her usual cool as ice voice, but she allowed a victorious grin to spread across her whole face. "Nice job. You played well. Would you like me to toss for you sometime to help you with your spikes?"

Yamaguchi flushed red and smiled nervously. "That would be amazing! When would you like to meet?" Y/N pondered this, then an idea struck.

"On the weekend we could have small practice with the other first years as well! Since here will be locked up, we can meet in the field in the morning instead."

Yamaguchi agreed and elbowed Tsukishima hard in the ribs for his response.

"Ow- Yeah, okay. That sounds interesting. Is it fine if I join?" Tsukishima could read Yamaguchi's pleading eyes like a children's picture book.

Y/N turned to him, confused at first that he wanted to join, but eventually, she regained her composure.

And with it, another layer of ice over her heart at this blond tsundere mess of a high school boy.

With a smile that shone just like Hinata's sunny grin, she let her lips part to form the words,

"Of course."
