"Tobio get over here for a sec!" Y/N called to the moping blueberry who was standing off to the side. He looked up and smiled at her, which she returned right back. Y/N looked to Kei who was caught mid-yawn and she tugged on his sleeve for attention.

Kei whispered to her with a laugh at seeing her desperate face, "I'll just be with Yamaguchi then." He then walked off to stand beside his friend who welcomed him despite the evident tiredness in the freckled boy's eyes.

Y/N saw how Kageyama had this almost sad look, and she glanced over to where he was staring. There was Shoyo and Yachi talking to each other rapid fire, and Y/N took a guess. "Tobio, are you jealous of Yachi-san?"

"Well yes, but actually no." He sighed.

"Hinata and I got in a fight, and while I'm here still thinking about how to perfect a new quick and finally win, he's still bright as ever. It's annoying, but I miss that presence." Y/N nodded in understanding, but then pushed him to the bus. "Oi! What are you-"

"KEI!" Y/N shouted to the blond and Takeda-sensei shushed her for the loud noise, since it was night after all. "Sit with Yams! I'm gonna stay with Tobio for the trip there." An embarrased okay sign was held up and the team also started filing into the bus.

The setter first-years selected a set of two seats and Y/N pushed Tobio into the window seat before sitting down herself. Hinata eventually sat in the seat across from Y/N, but Tobio was in a better mood now that he wasn't alone so he didn't pay the blocker much mind. Speaking of blockers, Yamaguchi was now nestled safely into his seat on the bus, but too many thoughts clouded his mind for the green-haired boy to even think about sleep.

Hours later, and I mean HOURS later, Karasuno's volleyball club arrived in front of Shinzen High School, where Nekoma had been waiting for them. Y/N shook Kageyama awake and before he could grumble about not getting enough sleep, she handed him a strawberry milk which he accepted graciously.

The managers exited the bus first and Y/N immediately ran over to Kenma who was pretending to be uninterested, though the pudding-headed setter was clearly looking for someone in particular coming from the large vehicle.

"Kenma!" Y/N waved and he smiled a little, with a nod in acknowledgement. The cheerful girl held out a small bag with colorful tissue paper peeking out from inside. "I brought you something, though I don't know if you already have this one..."

With that, Kenma opened the gift due to Y/N's eager eyes and his widened upon seeing the gift. It was the game card for Animal Crossing: New Horizons as well as a case for carrying his switch with a cartoon cat pattern decorating the outside. "Y/N- what- how- when-"

He hugged her at once and Y/N had shock written all over her face at his out-of-character touchiness, but she smiled and hugged him back. "I know you had your eyes on this, since last time you mentioned the release date would be soon. You like it?"

All Kenma could do was nod and though he didn't smile, his eyes perked up with excitement, wanting to play the game at once.

"Now go talk with Shoyo, this time he came on the bus with us." Y/N snickered and the old friends parted for the time being. But something felt off. The young manager felt a chill run through her spine and she pinpointed exactly what it was at once.

"Tetsu what are you doing?"

Kuroo Tetsurou walked over to her from where he was standing beside Daichi with a sheepish grin. "I missed you Y/N-ieeee!" With that he picked up Y/N piggy-back style and ran around with her screaming like crazy but all in good fun. Kei was looking on from beside Tadashi and both sighed in synch.

The teams arrived at the gym where they'd be practicing and the managers started putting the team's stuff in a corner of the gym that was unused. It was at the moment where Y/N had just taken Kei's water bottle and towel to set on a bench that she remembered something that she'd forgotten.

"Shimizu-san I think I left my phone in the main building, can Yachi-san help you out for a bit? Maybe start teaching her about the game more since we haven't got to that yet." Kiyoko smiled her heavenly smile and nodded in agreement. With that, Y/N explained what happened to Takeda-sensei and he agreed to let her go, so the young manager ran out the gym and back into the main building.

The run was too long for Y/N's liking and she heaved a large sigh as she caught her breath outside the main entrance. The sun was now relatively high in the sky and it shined it's summer glare with the burning intensity of, well, the sun.

Just then, as Y/N was fanning herself with her hands, she heard the bushes rustle. The noise was soft but not small enough of an area for Y/N not to rule out a person. "Who's there?" She called in the direction but was only met with stillness and the pulsing heat of the summer sun. Maybe I imagined it.

Y/N walked inside quicker than she was walking originally anyways. The second she walked through the doors the chill air washed over her and she sighed in content, lingering for just a moment before she started looking for her lost phone.

She started humming to herself to fill the suffocating silence and not long after she saw the familiar shape that was her phone in the corner of the room. Y/N smiled and picked her device up, inspecting the screen for any cracks that weren't there before. Seeing as it was clear, the manager walked outside once again and was about to turn the corner when she ran into someone and fell backwards. Her head was mere centimeters away from the pavement when she stopped falling at once.

"Hey, who the heck do you- Oh! Kenma!" The cat-like setter was holding her by the wrists with his eyes wide, and Y/N used what little core strength she had to pull herself upright again.

Kenma bowed in apology and Y/N waved it off at once. But then he spoke, his indifferent and quiet tone now harsh and urgent.

"We need to talk."
