"Then... Do you want to walk together?"
It was a simple question, one that was ordinary for any group of friends. But were all of them friends? Yamaguchi didn't know about the awkward interaction before class, and Tsukishima was part of the awkward interaction before class. Maybe it was a bad ide-
"Of course! Let's go together if it's just the same destination anyways!" Y/N's head snapped up to see Yamaguchi-kun smiling brightly so that his soft eyes almost seemed to disappear.
Her heart clenched again, dang it.
Tsukishima POV:
Yamaguchi and I had finished our class and were on our way to the volleyball gym for the first practice.
We stepped out of the small classroom and started our walk through the hallway in silence. I had my headphones on but the music that played from them seemed like I was hearing it from far away rather than directly in my ears.
My thoughts still on the girl earlier. Why would she cry? Was it her family? No matter what it was her tears were certainly irritating.
Why should she cry so violently? It just didn't add up and the illogical way of it was annoying.
"Yamaguchi..." I began before my mind could stop my mouth.
"What's the deal with that girl in our class, Ennoshita?"
I saw Tadashi's dark olive eyes light up at the mention of the girl. She really does have an impression on people, huh?
"She's really nice! She helped with English a lot and Ennoshita-chan has a really smile when she's being genuine."
Yamaguchi smiled wider and the flush painting his round face heated in happy memory.
"So you like her?" I asked out of just a pure curiosity, though Yamaguchi still blushed a scarlet red and was about to reply but then he appeared to have noticed something.
"Oh, Ennoshita-chan?"
Fast forward, 3rd person:
The unlikely trio walked together towards the gym in silence, tension thick between each of them so that even Yamaguchi felt it.
Yet none of them were lost in thought, or busy doing something else, as Tsukishima had his headphones off. Nobody just had anything to say.
Arriving at the gym, Tsukishima and Yamaguchi both noticed how Y/N's face shone longingly looking inside at the gym and her pace quickened unconsciously. It was as if the place was like her...
Home.
Y/N walked inside to see her favorite boys hard at work and the all too familiar crack in her heart returned.
She flinched ever so slightly, but apparently not slightly enough, as Chikara noticed from the side of his peripheral vision.
He knew he had to fix her heart as fast as possible. Though the cracks surely hurt, the pain hiding her heart from the world must have been the root in the first place.
"Chikara!" Y/N smiled and jogged over to where her cousin was taking his short break.
"Y/N? You' re early today?" Chikara's surprise leaked into his voice. "I guess you haven't found a club then."
Y/N nodded and said in reply, "Nothing stood out particularly, and I thought Shimizu-senpai could use the extra help with wrangling you guys." A bright smile followed.
Chikara laughed and nodded as if to agree. As if on cue, the elegant girl walked in and waved in surprise at Y/N because she had left early yesterday so she hadn't seen Y/N before. Y/N strode over to help her carry in the equipment she had in her arms.
Yamaguchi stared in confusion at how the entire team seemed to know her on a first name basis and Tsukishima couldn't care less as usual. Then the team looked up and saw the two boys still waiting at the entrance unsure of what to do.
Daichi-san being the responsible and observing captain he is, he was the first to notice the two and called out, "Oh, you must be the other two first years!"
The team gathered around them to see their future teammates. Only one common thought crossed all of their minds, and that was They're huge!
Yamaguchi spoke up because Tsukishima seemed to be thinking about something else at the moment and was not going to speak instead. "Yes, I'm Yamaguchi Tadashi and this is my friend Tsukishima Kei. We look forward to working with all of you." The first years bowed in respect to their older teammates.
When the two rose again, Daichi-san introduced himself as the captain, Suga-san as the vice-captain, and the team all became familiar to their new teammates at once.
Tsukishima then remembered something the captain had said earlier.
"Excuse me, but where are the other first years you mentioned before?"
Y/N smirked in the corner she was in, knowing this was about to get interesting.
Tanaka-san mirrored her grin, which looked infinitely more terrifying with his punk style look that gave Yamaguchi a chill, and said,
"Well, it's an interesting story..."
A/N
Okay so the next episodes will give Tanaka a lot more mention than he's been getting before, which is practically nothing, but there will be some interesting parts to watch out for. Also now you know that Tsukishima is his regular emo self and doesn't actually care for your feelings, or does he?
I'm sorry if you hate it, I kinda do too, but I'm sticking with it so any loyal readers please stick with me too? I'm trying hard for you, if you vote it'll make me so happy!
I love you all so much!!!!!
