The Woods....17

Proxima Midnight's sword grazes Marley's shoulder, the perfect distraction for the blue haired alien to kick her in the stomach knocking her onto the ground giving the alien the perfect opening to slam the hilt of her sword into Marley's head. Scarlett energy stops the sword from coming down though, Wanda wraps her powers around the sword throwing it away and out of reach. Nat and Okoye take over landing blow after blow it being easier now that Proxima Midnight no longer had a sword. Suddenly Blue magic enveloped Proxima Midnight and she went flying. Right into the path of a passing vessel. Blue blood from the alien rains fro the sky over the set of girls.

"That was kind of gross," Nat says wiping blood off her face. Marley just shrugs.

"She was being annoying," Wanda helps Marley to her feet and the girls work together to get out of the ditch. They pass through the field moving in the direction Bruce took off looking for Steve of T'challa, on the way they defeat more aliens the army on the field doing considerably better with the help of the god of Thunder. Once the girls were about to head into the woods Sam joins them, Marley immediately wraps her arms around Sam's neck not caring that there is a war going on.

"Hey, I'm ok every things ok," He says as he was caught slightly off guard.

"I know, I'm just glad you're safe." Marley says pulling away and lightly placing her lips on his. When she pulls away she furrows her brows at the look on Sam's face. "What is it?"

"Alien blood, not a good taste," He says causing Marley to laugh as she wipes remaining blood off her face.

"I hate to break this up," Nat says gesturing to the couple. "But we should really find Steve," The duo nods their heads and follows the rest of the group into the woods Marley tracking Steve by his thoughts.

"Somethings not right," Marley says as they enter the clearing seeing Steve, T'challa, Bruce and Vision.

"What do you mean?" Sam asks sliding his hand into Marley's. Wanda goes over to Vision.

" You don't feel it?" She asks and every one around her shakes their heads. "He's coming,"

"Everyone on my position, we have incoming," Steve says and the group falls in coming into formation.

"What the hell?" Nat questions as Blue and Black clouds appear out of thin air before Thanos steps out.

"Cap, that's him," Bruce says wearily looking at Thanos before his eyes shift back to Cap.

"Eyes up, Stay sharp." Steve says over the comms to anyone who was listening and the small group fell into battle again. Bruce reaches Thanos first lunging at him fist-first but Thanos uses the Space stone on him forcing him into the cliff side until his suit is half burried. Cap doesn't even get the chance to hit Thanos before the purple powers of the power stone throw him to the side. T'challa runs at the alien his suit fully charged Kinetically only to be grabbed by the throat and thrown on the ground his suit violently loosing all it's power. Sam swoops down attempting to shoot at the alien when suddenly his wings turn rubbery, unable to keep in the air Sam falls to the ground.

"Oh you messed with the wrong man," Marley growls walking forward towards Thanos despite Sam's words telling her to stay back.

"You should listen to him you know," Thanos says looking down at Marley.

"Really? and why should I do that?" She asks walking towards Thanos. "You hurt my man, my friends, my family, and I should just walk away?"

"That's the problem with you humans, you care to much, you won't so what needs to be done. You though, you're different, you don't actually believe anyone here cares for you do you?" Marley glances at Sam as one of her biggest insecurities was revealed like she was an open book. Slowly she looks back at Thanos.

"You got me, deep down  I think that everybody here hates me, You're the first one to finally see it," She says bringing down her walls enough to distract the purple Alien. She watches his face melt into an emotion she could only describe as pity, she uses this as a moment to attack. She slides her hand across his body knocking him to the ground, using her powers to keep him pinned. "Insecurities, that's a low blow, even for you nut-sack, too bad you won't be alive to see how it effects me," Thanos lets out a laugh as he looks up at the girl, quickly sending her away using the powers of the power stone. Marley goes flying just a little ways past Wanda and Vision who Thanos walks up to next. Marley had stalled enough time for Vision to get Wanda to start destroying the stone, but even she new it was too late as she saw Thanos approach.

As he arrived Wanda moves one of her hands focusing her powers on two spots instead of the one, tears stream down her face as she watches Vision slowly dies in front of her finally the stone shatters and everyone on the field lets out a breath thinking it's finally over. Thanos bends down and says something to Wanda almost like he's comforting her and before the team knows it time around them was going back. Thanos reaches for Vision once time has brought him back to life, he grabs him by the throat, plucking the stone right out of his head. Gently Thanos places the stone into the gauntlet on his hand and the Heroes try again to stop him, each coming to an end as a failed attempt.

Bucky tried, and failed.

Rhodey, failed.

Steve, failed.

Groot, failed.

Being to drained of energy Marley does all she can do, she watches. She watches as each hero fails knowing they were playing a loosing game. Suddenly a lightning bolt strikes Thanos shooting him into the ground and backwards. Thor appears in the sky eyes glowing blue a pure face of hatred. Thor chucks Storm-breaker at Thanos, his attempts to stop it failed as the ax lodged itself into Thanos's chest.

"I told you. You'd die for that." Thor spits hatefully landing in front of Thanos. He takes the back of Thanos's big neck and pulls it closer to him while pushing his axe deeper into his chest staring hatefully into his eyes as he cries out in pain.

"You should have... You..." Thanos stutters trying to get his sentence out. "You should have gone for the head."
