"I don't remember my mother or my father," a voice rings out as Sam and Marley move through the building. They go up a couple floors and watch from a window overlooking the memorial. "Same goes for siblings, grandparents, cousins. What I do remember is bein' alone. Worse than bein' hungry or cold or scared. I was alone," Marley and Sam look at each other. Both of them had been a lone at some point in time, they new how it felt. They knew that Karli has been through a lot more then the group thinks she has. "Until Mama Donya. Like a lot of you here, Mama Donya saved me. She clothed me, fed me, loved me," Karli gasps softly as she looks up to see Marley and Sam in the window. She quickly recovers though. "She taught me that we have to do for each other because they won't. And we know who they are. They imposed struggle and hardship on us, then labeled us as criminals for pushing back. But the struggle is what brings us all together. People who have nothin' in common. For we are, after all, simply one world and one people. So live accordingly,"

"I saw you back there," Karli says as Sam and marley walk through the exiting crowd towards Karli. Soon enough all the people were gone leaving the super soldier, witch, and bird alone.
"We came alone," Sam says stopping a few feet away from Karli. "We just wanna talk,"
"Bold of you," Karli says not moving an inch.
"I'm sorry for your loss," Marley speaks up, knowing how it feels to have lost a parental figure.
" One, don't condescend to me. I'm not a child. Two, who are you?" Maarley flips her hood up bringing back memories of the battle on the trucks.
"I'm not condescending. I know what it feels like to lose someone," Marley pauses bringing her hood back down. " I've lost a lost of people who were close to me over the years,"
"No, you don't. Not like this,"
"Believe me Karli, I do. I lost my father when I was eighteen. I've lost two of my closest friends, I know what it feels like. This doesn't have to be a war,"
"They started a war as soon as they kicked us out of our new homes and onto the street," Karli says stepping forward slightly. "People all around the world need me. Millions of them,"
"Right, I can't speak for millions, but we understand you," Sam says walking past Karli and towards a table sitting on it. "I understand your frustration. She understands your helplessness," Sam says nodding his head towards Marley.
"So, you want me to stop because people are gettin' hurt, right?" Karli questions looking at Sam but not completely turning around. "But, Sam, what if I'm making the world a better place?"
"No, it's not a better place if you're killin' people," Marley says making Karli's head snap towards her. "It's just different,"
"You're either brilliant or just hopelessly optimistic," Karli says looking at Marley with a slightly amused face. Sam chuckles softly.
"She's both," He says Karli looks back to him and Marley walks over standing next to him. " always has always will be. She's starting to make me like that," He says with a playfully disgusted face. Marley lightly smacks his shoulder. This earns a small smile from Karli.
"So are you two a thing?"
"A thing?" Sam asks looking from Karli to Marley.
"Oh my god you're turning into Steve," Marley mumbles before answering Karli's question."We're married, not even a year. But we've known each other since we were teenagers,"
"So then you've never truly been alone," Karli says looking away.
"This guy I know, who knows more about Super Soldiers than anyone else on the planet, he says... you're a supremacist," Sam says trying to break some tension.
"Me?" Karli asks looking back at Sam.
"Yeah, he's an ass," Marley replies causing Karli to chuckle.
"That's ridiculous. Everything I do is to end supremacy. These corporations and the beasts who run them, they're the supremacists,"
"So, let me ask you," Sam says. "You have more serum, right?"
"So?"
"Are you going to increase your army? You're killin' innocent people,"
"They're not innocent," Karli says with a slight bit of Venom. "They're roadblocks in my journey and I'd kill them again if I had to,"
"Wow," Marley says. "That was dark,"
"No, no. I didn't mean it like that. You tricked me into sounding like..." Karli trail soff trying to find the right word.
"Like what?" Sam says looking at the girl, who sighs.
"The people I'm fightin' are trying to take your home, Sam. "Why are you here instead of stopping them?"
"You know, my sister's waiting for that exact same answer," Sam chuckles looking at Karli. "I'm not your enemy. I agree with your fight,"
"Just not the way you're fighting it," Marley says finishing Sam's thought. "And I'm sure she wouldn't either," Marley says nodding her head in the direction of the memorial.
"Karli Morgenthau, you're under arrest," Walker says walking into the room.
"So, this is what that was?" Karli says looking at Marley and Sam frantically.
"No, Karli wait..." Sam tries but Karli cuts him off.
"Tricking me until your backup arrived?"
"No, we just wanted to talk honest," Marley says taking a couple steps towards Karli who had backed away from her and Sam.
"Nazi," Karli says starting to back away again. Marley reaches out to grab Karli's arm only to get a surprise kick to the stomach.
"Shit," Marley says doubled over in pain as Karli runs away. Sam comes up by Marley trying to ask if she was ok only for Marley to shoo him away. "Go," She says pushing him away slightly. "Go, before Walker get's to her, I'll be fine," Sam seems to understand running in the direction Karli went. Marley stands up straight after a minute or two, she walks out of the room attempting to find someone, anyone. Eventually she makes it out of the building and sees Zemo. "Come with me, we're finding the other two," she says grabbing Zemo's arm and dragging him along with her.
Eventually they find Sam and Bucky and the group makes their way back to Zemo's place. Just before they go in Sam stops Marley.
"Are you ok?"
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine," Marley says sliding a half fake smile on her face.
"Are you positive? You look like you were in a lot of pain from that kick,"
"I'm fine Sam I promise," she says again.
"Fine but no more fighting until we can get someone to check you out," Sam says sternly showing that this is one thing he won't budge on.
"Ok, ok that's fair, I'm exhausted anyway," she says with a nod.
"I bet," Sam says with a small smile. "I am too," Marley smiles back before Sam walks towards the door following Zemo and Bucky who were already inside the building. "You coming?" He asks turning back around.
"Yeah, yeah, right behind ya," Marley replies following Sam through the door, lost in her thoughts. Out of all the thoughts in her head one stood out though.
One kick to the stomach shouldn't have hurt that much.
A/N: fun story :) so my studio is in an old strip mall esq type building so during class tonight there was this big bang that sounded like thunder. We all assumed that's what it was so we just went on with class. Then the fire alarm went off, and we all went out side. Turns out, the store that was below where we were dancing, there ceiling caved in. And the dust set off the fire alarm, and it was probably a mix of us dancing and the building being old that did it :) no one was hurt thankfully, it was just an adventure. First time the fire alarm has went off in the 11 years I've danced at this studio tho...
Any way that was my night how about yours? Did y'all have a good day/night?
The next chapters in the works :) ~M
