𝓦𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓼 ~ 𝚂𝚊𝚖 𝚆𝚒𝚕𝚜𝚘𝚗

Tunnels....... 24

They were cornered, and out numbered, three against however many were hiding in the shadows. The hostages were out of the second truck. The one walker and Marley both failed to lift back onto flat ground, and now here they were in the middle of some construction sight surrounded by Flagsmashers. Marley watches as the officials make it out of the truck. She didn't see Karli pick up the metal pipe, she didn't see Karli chuck it in the direction of the trio, wishing to hit who ever she could. But still Marley lifts her hand using her powers to stop the pipe mere inches away from her face. Suddenly the shield comes flying down ricocheting off of flagsmasher after flagsmasher. Sam lands on the ground catching the shield in one swift movement.

"You of all people bought into that bullshit," Karli says as she takes off her mask standing, once again, on her own two feet.

"I'm trying something different. Maybe you should do the same," Sam tells her. She shakes her head before an explosion sounds. Smoke bombs were shot into the area allowing the Flagsmashers to make their quick escape. Sam uses his tech to see through the smoke. "This way," He says once he spots his target. Bucky, Walker, and Marley all follow after him. They run through construction tunnels, Bucky quickly updates Sharon on their location. "Looks like they split up here," Sam says coming to a stop where the tunnel branches off. Walker goes down the branch without a moments hesitation Bucky following soon after.

"I got it," He says before making his way down the tunnel.

"Looks like it's you an me," Sam says looking at Marley.

"When isn't it?" She replies a smile on her face despite the situation.

"Forever?"

"And Always," Marley finishes before the couple takes off down the tunnel.

"Hey Sam," Marley says stopping as she hears a whistle. "do you hear that?" They stay in silence for a second until the whistle pattern sounds again. "It's coming from that direction," Marley says, pointing down a tunnel. "Split up and check it out?" She asks looking back at Sam.

"I'll continue on this way," Sam says pointing in the direction they were previously going.  " Take the long way around I should be where that comes out shortly after you,"

"Ok,"

"Be careful," Sam says before Marley can walk away.

"I'm always careful," She replies with a smirk.

"That's a big ass lie," Sam chuckles softly.

"I'll be fine Sammy," Marley says before cautiously walking down the tunnel. Marley walks down the tunnel gun pulled. As she reaches what she thinks is the end she hears voices. Two, Karli and... Sharon?

"You know when you came to Madripoor you reminded me of a young me," Sharon tells Karli, neither aware of Marley's presence. "I took you in, gave you an opportunity. And you betrayed me,"

"Because you wanted to control a world that hurt you," Karli said. "But I wanted to change it. I'm not interested in power or an empire, I have bigger dreams," Marley understood where Karli was coming from she really did, the young adult was just trying to achieve her goals in the wrong way. Still there was some part in Marley that still believed that she could talk sense into Karli.

"What like this?" Sharon asks gesturing with her arms to the situation they were in. "Come back and work for me again, all of you. We can make a difference together," Marley pauses at Sharon's words, work for her? What exactly was Sharon up to in Madripoor?

"You just want me because you need you're muscle back," Karli says. "With out super soldiers how much power dose the power broker really have?" Sharon makes a face at Karli's words like she is deciding on an answer.

"More then you," Suddenly Batroc came from around the corner and Marley got a bad feeling in her stomach.

"Hey I need backup over here real soon," Marley said quietly into the comms. "I haven't engaged yet but things are about to go down hill really fast," She says as she continues to watch the exchange.

"I'm almost there," Sam says through comms when suddenly two gunshots ring out. Marley watches at Batroc drops to the ground dead, and Sharon clutches her stomach. Knowing Sam was almost there Marley stepped out of the shadows. Gently placing her gun back in it's holster.

"Karli, put down the gun," She says walking over cautiously her hands out.

"Stay back," Karli says after noticing Sam approaching as well. Sam puts the shield across his back also showing his hands as Karli points her gun at Sharon.

"So what's next huh?" Sam says not staying back. " you kill ten this time then what? A hundred? Where does it end?" He asks finally stopping. Karli looks towards Sharon before looking back at Sam.

"Please," Marley says making Karli look at her. "Let us help you,"

"Don't try to manipulate me," Karli says refocusing the gun on Sharon's head.

"Karli don't!" Sharon shouts, Sam tackles the girl before she can shoot. As Sam occupies her Marley checks on Sharon. After a couple minutes Marley looks up, the yelling and the grunting and the fighting had stopped, there was only silence. What Marley saw scared her more than anything else in the world.

Karli facing Sam with a gun pointed straight at him, and Sam doing nothing to stop it.

A/N: I figured since I have more time to pre-write chapters for next week I can give you guys a second one for the day :) it'll help make up for my breif fall off the face of the earth :)
