"Relaxing at night on the grass, gazing up at the sky and marveling at, not the stars, but a summer lightning storm"

Guys, there's no need to argue whether to ship Setsukei or Sanniuri. Nikei can have both, as a treat.

"Remind me why you guys are taking me outside late at night?" Nikei questioned. "The stars aren't even out, and there's clouds literally everywhere."

"You'll see." Setsuka replied before turning to Mikado. "Hey, have you found the spot yet?"

"Yes, it's beneath the tree over there!" The wizard exclaimed, pointing to a clear, sloping area in the grass right beneath a large tree.

Nikei raised an eyebrow but didn't protest further as the trio walked to the spot Mikado had picked out. The three of them settled down with Nikei placed in the middle, confused and slightly annoyed. It was silent for a few minutes, even as the sky began to grow darker.

"So..." Nikei finally spoke. "What's suppose to happen here-"

Suddenly, a flash of light lit up the night sky, and a bolt of lightning could be seen outlined through the clouds.

"Aaah!" The journalist screamed, instinctively launching himself onto Mikado and worming his way into the other's cape. "What the hell was that?! You crazy bastards are trying to kill me!"

"Pfft, we aren't! Come on out, Nik, it won't hurt you!" The billiards player coerced, pulling back the wizard's cape to reveal the trembling journalist. "It's just a lightning storm, see? Nothing to be afraid of."

Nikei paused and assessed the situation before quickly removing himself from Mikado's cape. "Yeah! I, uh, totally knew that!"

"Right, you did." Mikado chuckled. "You're more than welcome back in my cape at any time."

"Shut the fuck-" Nikei was cut off again as another flash of lightning illuminated the sky, and he flinched at the sudden light.

Setsuka put her hand on his shoulder and drew him back between herself and Mikado. "Like I said, it can't hurt you. The chances of getting hit by it are extremely rare, and I'm pretty sure Kado would protect you if it tried anything." She assured.

After a few deep breaths, Nikei settled back between his two partners, though they both decided to sit close enough to Nikei that they were both touching him. Everytime a lightning bolt jumped from cloud to cloud, Nikei jumped too, but he was always comforted by his boyfriend and girlfriend.
