This was an art trade with sugarhuneysweet on twitter, and we agreed to write/draw our fankids with each other! Kazue Sannoji's reference sheet, my fankid, and can found here (pictured above!), and Ichigo Kinjo's reference sheet, Mika's fankid, can be found here (https://twitter.com/sugarhuneysweet/status/1462203039142629383)! For the cameo fankids, Osami Maeda belongs to me, and Mai Mekaru belongs to Mika. To Mikado, I apologize in advance if I ended up writing his personality wrong!
Warning: mentioned arson/murder/kidnapping/trafficking!

Hope's Peak Academy was indeed a weird place to be. So many Ultimates came from all over the place, and it only got weirder when some alumni of the academy made a virtual world to help the classes strengthen their bonds with one another. The classes went inside this 'Neo World Program' to a place called 'Jabberwock Island,' which they were skeptical of at first.
Not to mention that there were a bunch of NPC students to make it feel like a real tropical resort. Only people who knew everyone from the classes could tell which were real and which were fake, but the personalities were indistinguishable from a real human's. With all of these personalities mingled together, everyone was certain that this would be an interesting 'field trip.'
One of these people was Kazue Sannoji, the Ultimate TV Reporter, who was on her way to Chandler Beach on the second island. She thought that her swimsuit was a little bit too exposing for her, but because she had a preference for softer swimsuit materials to rougher ones, this blue bikini was the only one that suited her tastes.
As she strolled along her way, hoping to get there before anyone else could, she didn't noticed that the road of the second island was uneven. Therefore, it came as a surprise to her as she tripped and fell onto the road. Kazue picked herself up quickly, looking around to make sure that nobody saw that. That would be embarrassing for her.
With a sigh of frustration, she spotted a nearby bench and walked towards it, hoping to sit down and check her knee. When she did sit down and take a good look at it, she sighed as she realized that her knee was scraped and bleeding a little. She would have to put a bandage on it later.
As she grumbled to herself on the bench, she didn't notice that someone was approaching her. "Excuse me, you seem to be bleeding." A voice suddenly spoke, and she looked up from her self-pity to see an unknown boy getting out a first aid kit. He didn't seem to be heading to the beach. "Here, let me fix it for you."
Kazue didn't even get a chance to get a word in before he opened his kit and first took out a clean cotton ball and peroxide to clean and disinfect the wound, which made Kazue's knee sting a little. A few seconds later, a bandage was being securely attached to her knee. "You have quick hands." She noticed as he finished up his job.
"I'd highly recommend that you don't go play in the water right now. This is not a secure enough bandage for vigorous movement, and we wouldn't want it to come off where it might get infected. We don't know what's in these tropical waters." The boy suggested.
"Thank you, I'll keep that in mind." The reporter smiled. "Hm, I don't think have had the pleasure of meeting before. You must be from the other class."
"Indeed I am. My name is Ichigo Kinjo, the Ultimate EMT." He returned her smile with a respectful nod. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Hm, you're politer than many I've met, Mister Ichigo." The girl remarked. "Ultimate TV Reporter, Kazue Sannoji."
"It's nice to meet you, Miss Sannoji." Ichigo paused as he seemed to recall something. "It's odd, I think I've heard of your last name before. I don't think it was on news broadcasts though..." He wondered. "Your hairpin looks familiar too."
Kazue's smile disappeared as she reached up to her sun emblem hairpin and gently touched it. "This pin was a gift from my father, it was his symbol he used to wear on his clothing." She reminisced. "Do you know about the Yomiuri Murder Trial?"
"Of course, my dad is still frustrated over that day. He was a first responder when he discovered that couple dead in their prison cell, and he had to arrest Mister Sannoji and bring him to court." Ichigo strained to remember.
"Well, a long time ago, he was in a murder trial and was sentenced to a lot of years in jail. He left when I was just a little girl, but he applies for parole a lot to come and see us, and we visit him in prison." The reporter sighed.
The white-haired boy comfortingly patted her shoulder. "I was young too, but I remember that my dad was angry that Mister Sannoji committed mass murder and even arson, when the former could have been solved by reporting them to the police."
"Oh, he was there? I didn't know that." Kazue hummed. "I don't know much about the arson charge, but he killed people to saved the life of my other dad, so I've been told. The first was a trafficker, the second was his parents that sold him to the former. I think they even hired kidnappers to go after dad while they were in jail, but he was rescued by mom and the kidnappers were arrested. Father went after those bastards in their cell, they got what they deserved."
"I'd say that his arson was not justified, especially to...I think it was an orphanage? I'm not sure." The EMT tilted his head in confusion, but got back on topic. "Dad was mad at the time that Mister Sannoji got rid of criminals by becoming a criminal. He holds powerful grudges against people with big court charges, and he's still mad that he couldn't arrest Mister Sannoji earlier and let a filthy murderer wander free."
"'Filthy murderer'?!" Kazue's calm demeanour broke. "Mister Ichigo, I know my father has done immoral things, but that does not give you the bloody right to-"
"Miss Sannoji, please calm down. I do not agree with my father on this point either." Ichigo quickly interrupted. "I believe that even though the murders were not justified, they were indeed fair in my eyes. He killed a man to save the life of a trafficked person, and then saved that same boy in his adult years by killing his parents. If someone were in such danger, I would do the same thing."
"I-I don't condone murder or arson, but what do you mean by you doing the same thing?" The reporter questioned.
"Well, I see no problem with bad people being hurt if it means helping good people in the end. I think your father did the right thing." Ichigo began to explain. "But sometimes, people must be hurt in order to get them the help they need, like your father's sentence in order to rehabilitate him and atone for getting blood on his hands."
"What the-?! How the hell are you even an EMT with a thinking like that?!" Kazue fumed, standing up from the bench. "And that dig at my father, are you trying to pick a fight?!"
Ichigo sighed, knowing that she would never have understood his way of thinking. "Now, listen-"
"I heard shouting. What's going on here?"
Both Kazue and Ichigo turned to the new voice, which belonged to a light-haired brunette girl with amber eyes. Behind her was a darker-haired brunette girl with shorter hair.
"Oh, Miss Mai and Miss Osami! Hello, I was just talking to this absolute-" Kazue was cut off before she could finish her sentence by the darker-haired girl walking up to her and latching onto her arm, preventing her from getting close to Ichiro. "H-Hey, Miss Osami, let go..."
"Both of you, hold your horses. I don't know how this argument started, but there's no need for fighting on our school trip." Mai sternly lectured. "Both of you need to separate and cool your heads, understood?"
"...Yes, Miss Mekaru." Ichiro grumbled, backing off.
"Kazue, let's go to the hot springs." Osami gently tugged Kazue's arm in that direction, and she led the reporter away from the EMT.
"Ichigo, what was that all about? I thought you knew better than to pick fights with people." Mai sighed, returning to a sweet disposition and giving the boy a disappointed glance.
"I recognized her surname, her father was sent to prison for murder and arson while my father was present. The conversation escalated from there." Ichigo then remembered something important and then called to the leaving girls, "Miss Sannoji, don't forget what I said about the bandage!"
He only received Kazue flipping him the bird in reply.
