"Simplistic, but cute, imagine your OTP(+)'s first holiday season together."

I saw this picture and thought it would make a good prompt for Christmas! I hope you enjoy this, and happy holidays, no matter what you celebrate!

It was the first of December, and Christmas was coming soon. Setsuka was excited because of the celebrations involved, so snacks and eggnog were stocked up in her and her boyfriends' rental house. She was also nervous since it was her first Christmas away from home, but at least she wasn't alone.

Speaking of her boyfriends, she was helping them decorate the fake Christmas tree they had bought, since nobody wanted to drag a real tree to the living room and clean up all the pine needles. Nikei and Mikado were hanging up ornaments while Setsuka wrapped the lights around the plastic tree. She snickered to herself as they bickered over where the ornaments went.

Finally, the ornaments and lights were in place, and all that was left was the star. Mikado wrapped his arms around Nikei's waist and floated to the top of the tree, where the journalist put the star on. Mikado lowered them, and Setsuka went to hug her boyfriends.

"You guys, the tree looks amazing! Good job!" She praised, and Nikei's face was dusted with pink while Mikado's mask took on a happy expression. "I gotta say, that star looks really shiny up there, it completes the tree!" She added, watching the embarrassment grow on the smaller boy's face.

"You know, if the tree were bigger, we wouldn't need a star like that." Mikado began, and Nikei looked at him in a confused manner as Setsuka knew he was building up to something. "If I left our doll up there, we would've had an angel instead!"

"Oh, fuck you guys!" The journalist cried out, covering his fully-red face. Setsuka just laughed and hugged the flustered boy, pressing a kiss to the base of his neck. He wasn't wearing his orange scarf today, and the sensation made him whimper. He was a little ticklish there, and he shivered in her arms.

"So, you said that apparently we put presents under the tree on the 25th?" The wizard casually changed the subject as he walked over to the kitchen, took off his gloves, and began washing dishes from breakfast. Mikado hadn't celebrated Christmas before since he lived at an orphanage that only cared for the children's health, so Setsuka was doing her best to catch him up on things he had missed out on as a child.

"Yep, that's right! The Christmas season is a time of giving, after all! And also cookies and eggnog!" The billiards player cheered, getting a laugh out of Nikei.

"Well, you don't have to get me much, I'm content with just having people who care for me." Nikei's blush added to his smile from admitting his love, but his smile was also downcast. "I mean, my parents didn't celebrate Christmas because they didn't want to waste money, and..." He paused for a second. "N-Never mind, forget I said anything."

"Come on, don't start with that now." Setsuka suddenly turned serious. She rarely did that, and it startled the boys each time she did. "Why else didn't they?" She asked, knowing that she had to pry any information about Nikei's past out of him.

"...They said that I wasn't good enough for gifts if I couldn't bring in enough money." He admitted, his gaze down at the floor. "I mean, I know that they were pieces of human trash, but...if I did better, would they have loved me more? What did I do wrong?" He murmured. "I-I couldn't do something as simple as win their love, I don't deserve anything."
