Nanaya was in the simulated combat area of the training complex for a team of six exercise. Three students from Saurity and three from Aitori. So he found himself fighting one of the robots specially created by his father alongside Yuto, Mineko, Kotaro, Tomeo and another boy from Saurity he did not know: Okune Monaka. The latter had force-field power, but he could only hold them for a limited time. Since the weather was nice, the directors saw fit to open the roofs of the area, so Yuto could use her power to summon animals. She wasn't sure that she was really useful to the group though.

Kotaro used his speed to try to find the weak point of the machine. Nanaya had suggested that Tomeo make the ground shake at his level, and thus possibly cause the robot to lose balance.

"The problem with my power." The young man muttered. "It's just that I don't control it at all. When I almost killed you, even if I hadn't wanted to it would have ended like this. I'm taking the whole area on board."

"The trainnings are precisely for that!" Nanaya growled. "If you don't try, you can never improve! Okune-san will protect us from the shakes. Hey! beware !"

Despite their hiding place, the robot had just found them. They weren't risking much. These were training machines. But for better efficiency, Nakamara had made them as realistic as possible. No weapons too dangerous and his size was limited to four meters, but he could easily break a few limbs.

Seeing the mechanical hand come crashing down on them, Nanaya created a wall of ice to block him. Their protection only withstood two blows, however, before breaking down completely, but they had had time to pull away from the threat.

In the observation room, Starlight shifted his gaze from the screens showing the room to Nakamara's, showing the robot's point of view.

The businessman had his creation attacked like it was a real fight, but kept a finger above his emergency stop in case it became dangerous for the students. The goal was not to hurt them.

From the screens, they were therefore able to observe the particularly intense combat. Mineko had attempted to surround the machine with flames. It wasn't a bad strategy if the enemy hadn't been immune to fire. Nakamara could no longer see very well on his screen, however, and had to glance at those in the room to get his robot out of there without hurting anyone he hadn't seen.

The birds Yuto had summoned at the start of the fight weren't much help against that. They had quickly fled at her request when things got too dangerous for such small creatures. She found herself unable to help and even had to be rescued. Nanaya quickly grabbed her before sliding several yards with her, down an icy trail of his creation.

"If you can't fight, take cover." Advised his comrade.

"S~ sorry... I... I'm u~ useless."

"Do not say that. Your power just isn't right for this situation, that's all. It's a good thing to do with that sort of thing that team training exists, right? Stay behind me."

She nodded shyly as they stood up. Nanaya made sure to get the robot's attention as Monaka, Kotaro and Mineko joined them. Since they were almost all in the same place, the robot moved towards them. Nakamara, at the helm, suspected they had a plan, since one was missing. But he was willing to send his creation straight into a trap to see their idea.

Nanaya gave a signal and Monaka created a bubble-shaped energy shield all around them. At that moment, the whole area began to shake. They had managed to lure him right next to a bogus construction site, and the fake building under construction was wobbly. Using his speed and at Nanaya's request, Kotaro had previously shaken off any supports that would have enabled it to resist. Tomeo did everything possible to control his earthquake. He wasn't sure how, but he managed to force the building to fall from the robot's side.
