Teiji must have watched Nanaya closely. He had tried to flee the same evening of the attack to go look for Kōtarō and froze the three guard teachers in place, only to be narrowly caught by Sandman who, luckily, was returning to the school to look for an assignment that he had to correct. Given the situation, he had not been penalized, but the principals had requested an extra night shift teacher.

Tomeo for his part, had lightning-like scars running through his skin. They were painful and even Phen-X's healing didn't make them go away. Other than that, the young man was still in good shape. He took turns with the rest of their friends to calm down and try to distract Nanaya.

But their young comrade was convinced that he could find Kōtarō through his phone. He had pointed it out to the police and the heroes, showing them the location his software showed. Location were motionless in the open sea, from which law enforcement inferred that the two villains responsible for the kidnapping had thrown the phone away. Nanaya hadn't even been able to try to tell his father, the man had plunged into the darkweb for any sign of the kidnappers.

The young man kept his eyes on his phone almost all the time. If it was really his friend's cell phone that had been thrown away, the indication would have been moved on the map, with the device inevitably being carried away by the current or even by an animal. But he hadn't moved a millimeter.

"Hey babe," Tomeo called for the umpteenth time, "are you listening?"

Nanaya looked up vaguely at the young hero in whose arms he had cradled. Since they had spent some time together in the infirmary, it was he who had consoled and calmed him the most.

"Let go of your cell phone," Kenji muttered worriedly, "there's nothing we can do... we have to wait for the police to find him."

"And your father is also on his tracks," added Monaka, "trust them. Shime-kun will be back soon."

Their young comrade shook his head, tightening his hands slightly on his device.

"But I know where he is," Nanaya hissed in a broken voice, "they're not looking in the right place..."

"Maybe this is a false alarm," Haru tried, "your detector may not be updating ..."

"He is !! And if no one decides to go find Kot-chan for real, I will!"

On his words he stood up, obviously decided. Tomeo almost immediately grabbed him wrist. The look Nanaya gave him then made him shiver. The resemblance to his father had suddenly become more than obvious, in the most terrifying way. If Volcano or any villain attacked him at this precise moment, Tomeo would definitely bet on his friend's victory.

He swallowed and stood up slowly, hoping to calm him down with their size difference. But Nanaya was still glaring at him.

"Understood," Tomeo finally said after a few seconds of silence, "no one will be able to stop you ... but in this case I am coming with you."

"Don't encourage him !!" Monaka said indignantly.

"You're going to get killed!" Exclaimed the twins at heart.

"Do you have so little faith in us?" Joked Tomeo. "Or do you not care about our friend at all? He's an angry chihuahua. He's loud and vulgar, but I personally care about him, too. It's been a week already ... who knows what state it will be if we wait any longer? Since no adult wants to trust Babe, then I would."

Nanaya's expression instantly relaxed. He mechanically put his arms around Tomeo's waist to thank him with a hug.

"In this case I am coming too," Kenji decided, standing up, "I haven't officially got my license yet, but my classes are on track. So I would borrow a car from my mom and drive over there."
