"Gentlemen, he woke up. »

The five young men and Nakamara stood up in unison. The nurse left the room and left the door open for them. She was holding a tub filled with bloody bandages and gauze. Two other nurses and a doctor also left the room as Nanaya's friends and father entered.

Nanaya was lying on a bed. A drip in his arm provided him with the amount of blood he had lost. An hour earlier, the nurse had warned that they didn't have much blood compatible with his type, but Nakamara had assured them that he would receive the necessary infusions when they returned. Thoki was type O positive.

The young man smiled weakly at them. Hyokko couldn't hold back and quickly flew up to him to snuggle into his arms while crying.

"How..." gasped the guardian, "how did you... you... your scepter..."

"Ah... don't worry," Nanaya breathed in a broken voice, stroking him, "it wasn't the real one."

He loosened his blanket a little and lifted his trouser leg. The real bracelet was there, on his ankle. Nanaya had considered the idea of a trap. Lord had escaped his father for many years, he was a smart man. He wouldn't have just forgotten to turn off Kōtarō's phone. Hyokko burst into tears.

"Don't ever do that again," he begged, "I thought you were going to die!"

"Okay, okay," the magical whispered, "I'll let you know next time."

"Next time," Nakamara repeated, "I sure hope you don't throw yourself into a senseless fight like that again!"

"Dad...wouldn't you have done the same if they had captured me?"

"..."

"I'm sure you would have taken even more risks..."

Nakamara was silent for a moment before sighing. Yes, it was a certainty. He stepped forward and gently pushed Hyokko so he could hug his son.

"We're going home," he whispered, "Thoki will give you the blood you need."

"And... Kot-chan?" Nanaya asked.

"Teiji took care of him. He may be awake when we arrive."

Nanaya sighed in relief. He relaxed in his father's arms. All the tension fell and despite the care provided by the blood of Phen-X, the pains were very present.

Nakamara arranged with the hospital to release his son. Knowing that the hero Phen-X would take care of him convinced them quite easily. However, he had to carry him. Nanaya felt weak and could barely stand. He carried him to his car, while Koharu took her own, not without scolding Kenji for taking it without permission.

Nanaya was so weak that he fell asleep almost as soon as the car started. His head fell limply against Jun's shoulder, who was careful not to hurt him. Haru, on the other side, was making sure that the movements of the car didn't shake him too much. Monaka, Tomeo and Kenji got into the minivan with Koharu.

Rather than go to school, Nakamara drove to the mansion and Koharu followed. They needed rest. He would call Starlight to let him know. He gladly hosted his son's friends for the day. It was Haru who offered to carry Nanaya this time. The magical was installed in the living room, where Teiji had already started drawing blood from Thoki.

"Kot-chan is alone in the infirmary?" Nanaya questioned as Haru put him down on the couch.

"No," assured Phen-X, "the teachers take turns between their class hours. It was an emergency, after all. I'm almost done."

"The boys should go and rest," Koharu suggested, "do you have any free rooms Naka-Darling?"

"Of course," said the ex-villain, "in the right wing of the second floor. Come, I'll take you there."

"We're fine..." Tomeo started, "thanks to the blood of Phen-X..."

"You spent the night out fighting. You are going to rest. I didn't ask your opinion!"

Tomeo was silenced. The five young men waved at Nanaya before following the householder upstairs.

Nanaya fell asleep during the transfusion and Thoki carried him to his room. His immortality allowed him to recover quickly even after a large blood sample. He had therefore carried his young master to his bed to let him rest there.

Nakamara let the youngsters sleep until noon. The principals of the three schools had been notified and Phen-X returned with Kōtarō and Rakko. Nanaya threw himself into the arms of him childhood friend.

"Idiot," Kōtarō muttered, "you could have been killed..."

He had followed everything. Lord had made a mistake in the composition of his drug. Kōtarō had not been thrown into a state of confusion. He had seen, heard and understood everything. He was just paralyzed.

They all sat down at the table as Kōtarō described Lord's power, showing the mark.

Nakamara winced in anger. If he had known what that meant, he would never have welcomed Meltdown into his home years ago. At least they now knew that anyone with that mark was or had been in a relationship with Lord. He had to report it to the police, remembering that he could put the mark by force.

"Your wrists..." Nanaya muttered, "Kot-chan how long..."

Kōtarō glanced down at his arms. Lord had taken off the sponge bracelets he used to soak in disinfectant and he hadn't put any more in their place since. The most recent scars had been erased by Phen-X's blood, but the older ones remained, barring his skin for the full distance usually covered by these bracelets.

"Too long," he breathed, "it's almost become a habit..."

"And the booze, how long has it been?" Accused Tomeo. »

Nakamara spat out the water he was drinking.

"I emptied my gourd," Kōtarō growled, "leave me alone!"

"I'm worried about you, Doggie," Tomeo said.

"It's not worth it !"

"Ah! I remind you that we share the same dormitory. Trust me I will check every one of your drinks and make sure there are no knives or razors in your bag!"

"I forbid you to rummage through my stuff, bulldozer!!"

"Watch me!"

"You really piss me off!"

"Oh ? After what I've done, don't you love me just a little more?"

Everyone else remained silent. Tomeo had clearly chosen his words. He wanted to divert Kōtarō's attention and make him forget recent events, while reminding him not to sink. Kenji thought for a moment that Kōtarō was going to hit his comrade, who was sitting right next to him, but he unclenched his fist.

"How to define..." he muttered, contemplating his plate.

Then he looked up at Tomeo again, snapping with an annoyed pout:

"I want to push you off a cliff..."

"Ah! Charming..." Tomeo scoffed with a hint of disappointment.

"...then rushing down to catch you."
