As he was actually starting to drown, Nanaya suddenly felt two arms grab hold of him and in a second he fell with his rescuer into the storage shelves. Rakko had teleported into the water to catch him, before teleporting again but missed his landing. Balls, buoys and other exercise accessories for the pool were scattered about.

While Nanaya spat out the swallowed water, coughed and tried to catch his breath, Kotaro grabbed Ita by the throat and slammed her against a wall.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM BREADBOARD?!?!?!" He yelled.

"Argh... K... Kota-kun... you're hurting me..."

"Shime-san, Monaka called, Nana-chan is fine, look! "

He immediately let go of the girl to approach. Rakko still held their mate close to him, patting his back gently to help him recover. Monaka, Kenji, Kotaro and he had come running when Hyokko had gone to find them, worried. And the Guardian had done well not to trust Ita.

It wasn't long before Phen-X and the three guard teachers arrived, attracted by the noise caused. There was Lady Obscura, Aitori's cooking teacher who had been given a shadow power similar to Shadow's. Oktopus, Darkeas' Japanese teacher and Glint, Saurity's science teacher who could teleport through mirrors or any other reflective surface.

Monaka straightened up to explain to them what had happened. Worried about knowing Nanaya alone with Ita, Hyokko had preferred to go down to the first floor to warn their friends from Saurity. Strangely, Rakko had been the first to worry, claiming to have noticed the hatred in the girl's eyes when she looked at Nanaya. He had left first and the others had quickly followed.

They didn't find them in the hall, so they really started to imagine the worst. As they tried to find out where Ita and Nanaya had gone, Kenji looked towards the yard and saw the gymnasium lights on through the windows. Rakko immediately teleported, and although he hadn't planned to land directly in the water, this was the first time he was glad he wasn't in control of his destination, since he was able to catch Nanaya in this way and take him out of the pool.

"There is no proof that I pushed him," Ita laughed without any remorse, "he just wants to be noticed again!"

Teiji clenched his fist so hard that he dug his fingernails into his palms. He used all of his self-control not to hit Ita. Tomeo had tried to hurt Nanaya, but he recognized his wrongs, apologized and even seemed to have become a very good friend of the young man. This time it was clearly an attempted murder.

"We'll see that with the headmaster," Oktopus growled calmly, "in the meantime, you'll be spending the night in the detention room, Kashiwa."

"Tch! It's your fault again! "

Ita took advantage of Nanaya getting up to rush towards him, taking a knife out of her pocket. Tomeo and Kotaro jumped forward in the same gesture and Tomeo received the blade in the shoulder. Ita was immediately grabbed by Oktopus' tentacles to immobilize her, but the professor had forgotten a detail.

The young girl bit deeply into one of the slimy limbs to access the adult's blood. As long as she held her breath she was now able to use the same ability and used it to escape the grip and retrieve her weapon, she sliced several of the professor's tentacles but knew they were pushing back. Quickly, she therefore contented herself with making her way to plant the blade dangerously close to his throat.

She didn't bother to attack any longer and quickly walked through the door, smashing it with the appendages of the copied power, running towards the hall.

Glint had jumped into the water to use his power, emerging through the reflection of one of the glass doors, he took out a dagger that he stored in the pocket mirror on his belt to quickly parry the blow the student had taken. He hoped for a moment to force her to catch her breath, but she was faster, wrapping him in the tentacles and squeezing him so hard that she broke some of his ribs. She then casually threw it against the glass doors that led to the courtyard, smashing them in the process, and smashed the doors in the hall to run out of the school.

She caught her breath as soon as she reached the forest and immediately found herself unable to use Oktopus' power any longer. Hiding behind a tree, she quickly checked out what they were doing. They didn't seem determined to follow her, probably because they needed to take care of healing Oktopus, Tomeo, and Glint first. They would probably call the other teachers and the principals. It was unthinkable that she would go back to this school. She brooded in anger, putting all the blame on Nanaya. If he had never been there, if he hadn't existed, she could have had whatever she wanted.

The young girl plunged into the woods, crossing thickets and brambles, her clothes in a poor state of repair.

Her knife was still in her hand, gripping it firmly. She had no idea which direction she was taking and yet she was smiling. She didn't have to pretend to be friends with anyone anymore. She didn't have to go back to that stupid orphanage anymore. She just had to take what she wanted, how she wanted it.

The fighting lessons with Amaretto were going to prove particularly useful. They had just proven themselves. So was the usefulness of her power that had so often been mocked. Yes, she was using the power of others. But wasn't that the best of all? Her only regret was that she had to leave so hastily, leaving her reserve of blood in the dorms. A small vial for each student she had managed to collect, more often Darkeas students since they were closest to her.

With the help of a few sleeping pills and numbing gases, she had been able to discreetly take blood samples from her classmates. It had allowed her to go through walls, run as fast as Kotaro, or smash a window to get in during the weekend. But now her stock was lost.

Running through the forest and lost in thought, she barely noticed that the rain had started to fall. She scratched her knee completely on a particularly thick bramble and collapsed in a puddle of mud. The dirt, however, was not enough to cover up the blood at the corner of her mouth, on her blade and on her clothes.

Ita wiped her face and spat out the mud that had entered her mouth when she heard something stir a few feet away.

"Heeeeh!" A happy voice exclaimed. "Some blood ! It's yours ? Are you hurt? Can I see ?"

Ita looked up to see the pale teenager with the crazy smile who had just spoken to her. He was sheltering from the rain by using the long coat of the  two-meter man with the sewn-on mouth next to him.
