Chapter 58

There was only a weekend and a week left until summer camp and the students were relieved to have passed the exams. This Friday, Nanaya's class was just finishing their end-of-day cleaning. As the boy finished cleaning the board, several girls approached.

"Nana-chan." One called. "Tomorrow, we intend to apply for a shopping permit. We would like to take everyone."

"Would you like to come with us?" Added a second. 

Nanaya hesitated. He didn't really have to chat with them as much as he did with his friends, he didn't really know if he would feel comfortable. Mineko approached in turn.

"Soma-chan, Rena and I are going too." She added, smiling. "But if you don't want to, nobody forces you."

She glanced at her comrades to make them understand not to insist if he refused and they all confirmed.

"It will be fine." Nanaya hissed. "I think that's not a bad idea ... I have to buy a hairclip."

"A hairclip?" Zakara Emiri wondered.

"The one I use to hold my hair when I clean my prosthesis broke this morning."

"You should have told me !" Mineko exclaimed. "I could lend you one! "

Nanaya smirked. He hadn't wanted to disturb her for so little. The class representative, Inoue, assured that she would take care of collecting their exit permits for the whole class the next morning. They had planned to eat at a pancake stand right next to the mall.

Mineko and Nanaya greeted the other girls and left the class with Rena and Yuto, to join their friends. They had all finished their housework as well and were hanging out on the roof waiting for dinner time.

Kotaro, Tomeo, Monaka and Kenji were giggling.

" What is happening ?" Mineko asked.

"Nothing !" Jun cut off, giving Enko pleading eyes. "Nothing happens. Please Morihama-chan ..."

"His upper body got stuck in one of the washing machines." Haru cut.

"But how ?" Mineko exclaimed.

"Jun, are you okay?" Nanaya asked.

"Bumblebee is the only one worried." Moaned Jun. "You are all mean."

"Because you're dumb!" Kotaro mocked. "Why did you try to get in there ?!"

"It looked big enough, I wanted to see if I could fit into it..."

"The result," Enko explained. "We had to call one of our metal-controlling teachers. He used his power to dismantle the machine and free Jun."

Mineko and Yuto accompanied the others in their laughter. Nanaya took it upon himself to explain to Rena, who soon did the same.

"But, didn't you hurt yourself?" The Aitori boy asked again.

"No." The twin replied, smiling. "You are adorable. You are the only one who asked me."

"If you didn't go to the infirmary, you're fine." Kotaro launched after stopped laughing. 

Jun stuck his tongue out at him.

Discussions quietly resumed, until it came to what they were going to do this weekend. Nanaya stopped them when they all began to suggest a date for him, explaining to them what was already planned. He didn't notice that Mineko was sticking her tongue out at the boys.

When the hour struck, they walked quietly to the dining hall, discussing the upcoming camp. On their way, as since his fight, several students whispered among themselves while looking at Nanaya. Some would approach and try to mingle with the group, without much success. His friends would stop them, more or less nicely depending on who was doing it, to keep him from being in too big a crowd.
