records // ponyboy Imagine

I burst through the door and run up the stairs. I walk into my room and drop my backpack to the floor. I grab my "Blue Hawaii" record by Elvis Presley and put it on. I turn the volume up, just a little bit louder than usual. I smile and walk over to my backpack that I threw on the ground.

I decide to start working on some math homework, I usually get my stuff done quickly when I'm listening to music. "take my hand" I start quietly singing the words. "take my whole life too" I had the whole song memorized, given I've heard it about a thousand times.

"Y/N!!" I hear Pony yell. "can you turn it up just a bit??" I laugh. "why don't you just come up here?" I hear him stop what he's doing and come up the stairs. "better?" I ask. "yeah" We sit eagerly on the floor by the record player. Me and Pony both loved Elvis Presley, so listening to his music together was something we tried to do often. "for I can't help, falling in love with you" Me and Ponyboy sing the chorus together. "hm, Pony, didn't know you were such a singer.." I joke. He playfully hits my arm and I get up. "what're you doin?" He asked. "I have a date" I say.

He shoots up and off the ground. "with who??" I put my hand on his shoulder, "a date with me, you, some chocolate cake, and Elvis Presley" His face lights up. "I'll get the cake!!" I laugh as he runs out the door and down the stairs. I grab my "Jailhouse Rock" album and put it on. "cmon, Pony!" I wasn't too worried about any of the gang coming over, school just got out and they wouldn't be here for at least another half hour. "got it!" Pony was standing in the doorway holding a big plate of cake along with two forks. I smile and motion for him to sit down next to me.

We were the happiest we've been in a long time.
