I have the blowtorch, who's bringing the pitch fork?
Just to be clear, that's for the mystery person, not Tom. Although he does make quite a few stupid ass decisions in this chapter.
"Daddy?" Lily asks and walks up to Tom.
Tom holds up his finger and quickly finishes his glass of whiskey. It was his third glass of Daddy's special drink this morning. "What do you need, my dear?"
"Where's Mummy?"
"She ran to do errands, she'll be back later this afternoon."
"Okay! Can we go to the park?"
"Um... not... not today, love."
Tom screws the cap back into the bottle and sets it in the cabinet.
"What were you drinking?"
"That's Daddy's drink, dear."
"I want some."
"It tastes icky. What if I make you a smoothie?"
"Okay!"
"Alright, kid. Do you want mango?
"Yeah."
Tom smiles and pulls out the blender. He starts to pour frozen fruit and almond milk into the cup. He goes to turn it on, but Lily stops him.
"You need the top to be on there, Daddy."
"Thank you," Tom chuckles. "You're right."
He turns on the blender and watches as the fruit blends into a smooth liquid and pours it into Lily's glass. "Breakfast is served."
"What's your breakfast?"
"I had some this morning, darling, don't worry about me. What do you want to do? We can watch a movie or something."
"I want to run around."
"I know but we can't go anywhere today."
Tom wanted to take Lily to the park but he knew that he couldn't, he was too buzzed to drive.
"Do you want some more?"
"N-no, I can't. M-Molly will... will be very upset with me."
"Molly's not here is she? Come on, we're having fun, let loose."
"I can't, M-"
"I know, I know, but you're a grown man who can make his own choices. You're having fun with someone who cares about you and would never let you hurt yourself by having too much. I had some."
"What about... what about what you gave me? I... I can't... we can't mix-"
"I'd never let anything bad happen to you," a hand caresses Tom's face. "I promise. The whiskey will make you feel good, you know that."
"But-"
"Tom, baby, you know that you want to have another glass. Let me help you."
With a shakey hand, Tom closes his eyes and brings the glass to his mouth. He wasn't exactly sure what he was doing, everything was a blur, it had been for the last hour or so.
A hand gently pushes it forward, helping to get the excess liquid out of the glass. "There you go. That's good, isn't it? I bought it specifically for you."
"I don't feel well." Tom whispers, placing the back of his hand to his mouth.
"It's okay. Why don't you go to sleep for now and then we can continue later? I don't want you getting sick."
