"Okay, Lils, what are we having for dinner?" Tom asks. "We'll order whatever you want."
"I want that stuff with the chicken."
"The Greek salads?"
"That's it!" Lily exclaims.
"Alright, kid, we can do Greek salads. I'll order them for delivery."
"I want to go somewhere."
Tom looks down at the empty water bottle in his hand... that wasn't diluted very much. "We can eat on the back porch? How about that? I'll turn on the pretty lights."
"Okay, that's fine."
Tom smiles and ruffles her hair. Her arm had pretty much healed and she stopped taking her medication the day before. There were 6 left. He could take one or two before Molly knew that they were missing.
He snuck one from the cabinet, without Lillian noticing. He pours a glass of whiskey and takes the pain killer, closing his eyes as it slides down his throat.
Lily and Tom had nice salads out on the back porch. Then, he made her a sundae.
Tom started to feel self conscious again. Something about a disgusting human being complimenting your body made you feel disgusting too.
He lays on the couch, Lily in his arms. She was watching a nature documentary about squirrels.
"Lils?" Tom quietly says. "Hand Daddy his glass please."
Lily smiles and hands her father the glass of whiskey. She smells it, and her nose burns. "Yucky. What is this stuff?"
"What did Daddy say?"
"That I can't drink it because it's Daddy's drink."
"Exactly. It's okay though because you have Lily drinks."
"I do?"
"Of course. You have drinks made specially for you. This stuff is for Daddy. Speaking of," Tom finishes the remains of the glass. "Why don't you get Daddy some more? Don't drink it."
"I won't," Lily says. "It's smells bad."
"Thank you, love."
Lily walks over to the counter and sees the big bottle of whiskey. She pours Tom a full glass, almost to the brim. She was always upset that people would pour her half glasses of things because she was small, so she made her that her dad didn't run into the same issue. "Here Daddy."
"Oh, Heavens," Tom says and grabs the glass. "This is alot."
"Did I do it wrong?"
Tom carefully takes the glass and down about the first half of it, not stopping. It burned his throat but he didn't mind. He lets out a sigh and sets it down on the table. "Well, it's usually a lot less, but it's okay because I'll drink it."
"Okay good."
"Yeah. How's your documentary going?"
"Fine. They're really cute."
"The are, aren't they?"
"Yeah, I like them. Can we call Mummy to say goodbye?"
"Mummy is very busy right now, dear, she's at a shoot. You'll see her in the morning."
"What does that mean?"
"A shoot?"
"Mhm."
"Well Mummy is a model. You know how you see people on magazine covers?"
"Yeah."
"That's Mummy's job. She's a model and I'm an actor."
"I know that, you're Loki!"
"Well, yes," Tom chuckles. "I… I am."
Tom feels his vision start to blur and he holds onto the side of the couch.
"Are you okay?"
"I… yes."
Tom holds a hand to his mouth, feeling like he was about to throw up.
"How about we go upstairs for bed? Are you tired?"
"Yeah."
Tom turns off the TV and drinks the rest of his whiskeys. Carefully, he hides the bottle and washes the glass, them hiding the glass.
He grabs onto Lily for support you the stairs. "Okay, kid, I love you."
"I love you too, Daddy."
"Sleep well, my dear. Have all good dreams tonight."
"You too!" she smiles.
Tom slowly closes the door to her bedroom and stumbles to his. His long night of drinking had definitely caught up to him.
He reaches around for a water bottle, trying to drink as much water as possible. He lays down in the middle of the bed and tries to ease the horrible nausea rising in his throat.
The next morning, Tom wakes up. He looks around the room, vision tripled. "Oh," he groans into his hands.
Carefully, he stands up and makes his way to Lillian's room. It was 10 o'clock, he knew that she was awake.
"Lils?" Tom says and knocks on the door. "Lily, dear?" He opens the door to see Lily's bed empty.
"Lillian?"
Tom starts to panic. He opens every door upstairs, unable to find her. He runs downstairs, she's no where to be found. "Lily? Lillian?" Tom yells, voice breaking.
Then, the garage door opens and Molly walks inside, holding their daughter's hand.
"Good morning, Daddy." Lily smiles. "Mummy took me to the park."
"Go pack your stuff,"
"Why?"
"Because you and Mummy are going to take a trip for three days. I'll be there soon to help."
Molly waits until her daughter runs upstairs and clenches her teeth while looking at Tom.
"Molly-"
"No, don't you dare. I am so unbelievably mad at you right now. You don't get to say a fucking word. I came in and you were passed out drunk on our bed while your daughter was sleeping. What is wrong with you? I... mmm... Thomas, we're leaving for three days. If you are not out in three days when we come home, I will physically throw you out of this house. If you tell me what's going on, I'll consider forgiving you."
"I can't, Mols."
"Then don't fucking expect someone to be in your bed because I'm disgusted with you right now."
"Molly-"
