Tom and Molly had quite a few fights after she found out what he did. Molly made sure to watch her volume, but would lose control of it, causing Tom to quickly head upstairs and slam the door.
Molly felt like they were back where they were 5 years ago. Tom hid behind locked doors and Molly was always the bad guy, even though her intentions were always good.
This was, it was much different. When you're responsible for a life that can't do much for themselves, you have to let go of whatever you're feeling to care for them.
Lily noticed the tension between her parents. She would try and dance to make them forget why they were yelling, but as soon as she felt the room, it'd start again.
Lily felt responsible for Molly being angry at Tom. He told her not to tell and she did, she broke her promise. Now, her mother would flip out during family dinner while she had a conversation about Tom about how bad she felt. The anger was never directed at Lily, but she felt like she did something wrong.
"Thomas?" Molly asks. "When's Chris coming?"
"Less than an hour." Tom replies, rubbing his palms together for comfort.
"It's just him?"
"Yeah. Elsa and the kids are in Australia."
"Alright. Well... I'm going to take Lily out to give you some time to catch up."
"You don't have to take her, Chris will want to see her and so will she. She loves Chris."
"I know she does but I'll bring her home later."
"It doesn't sound like you want to be here. Why don't you go meet someone for lunch or something and I can watch her?"
"Watch her? You're not very good at paying attention to our child, Thomas, so I don't think that's a good idea."
"Molly-"
"I'm getting her ready. Let me know what time Chris is leaving so that I can make sure we're home in time to see him."
"I will, dear. Are you sure don't want to stay?"
"Lily will want to go to the park."
"She hasn't seen Chris in months."
"I understand that but we're going to go to the park. Tell Chris that we say hello and that we'll see him later tonight."
"Alright." Tom quietly sighs.
"Alright? Good."
Tom sits downstairs, waiting for Chris's arrival. All he can think about is how Molly doesn't trust him anymore. He made a mistake, that doesn't mean he's a bad father.
The doorbell rings and Tom quickly jumps up to open it. It was painful, but he was excited to see him."Christopher, hello."
Chris smiles and brings Tom in for a hug. "Hey, man. How are you doing?"
"I'm good, I'm good."
"Are you sure? You look really good. How's your... pelvis?"
"It's alright," Tom chuckles. "I'm good. Come sit down."
"Where's Molly and Lils?"
"Oh, they're at the park, they'll be here later this evening to see you."
