1) Sad Chapter
2) Death at the End

Two Days Later

Molly paces around the house, a cigarette resting between her index and pointer finger.

"Mummy?" Lily asks.

"Hold on, baby," Molly says while exhaling. She sets the cigarette down on the ashtray in the holder and walks up the stairs. "What do you need?"

"I miss Daddy."

Molly tries to keep a smile in her face. "I do too, Lillian. What's Grandma doing?"

"She said that she brought something of Daddy's for me that will make me feel better."

"Okay, bug. Let me finish smoking and I'll come upstairs."

"I thought you only did that upside. Daddy doesn't like it inside."

"No, he doesn't." Molly sighs. "But Daddy's not here and Mummy's a little sad right now."

"I'm sad too."

Molly kisses Lily on the cheek and cups her face. "You know that Daddy would never leave you, right?"

"Mhm."

"Remember what we talked about?"

"Yeah." Lily nods.

"Even if Daddy isn't here, he loves you more than anything in this world, he always will."

"Even when he's in Heaven?"

Molly closes her eyes and swallows the lump in her throat. "Even when he's in Heaven. Go see Grandma Diana, I'll be there soon."

"Okay, Mummy."

Molly runs down the stairs and races to the bathroom, lifting the lid of the toilet seat and releasing her lunch. She coughs into her arm, wiping her face with her hand. This whole thing made her feel physically sick.

"Come sit, dear." Diana softly smiles, patting the bed. Lily walks through the bedroom and sits next to her grandma.

Diana pulls out a worn teddy bear with a blue bandana. It smelt like Tom as a child, the scent never went away.

"This is Teddy, I know, original. It was your Daddy's when he was a kid, just like you."

"I've heard about Teddy before." Lily smiles.

"I'm sure you have. Well..." Diana starts to well up. "I wanted you to have this, but you have to promise me that you'll be very, very careful with it. Your Daddy's old, isn't he?"

"Mhm."

"Well this bear is older than him so it can get hurt very easily."

"Grandma?"

"Yes, dear?"

"Daddy's old like the bear... can he get hurt easily too?" she asks.

"No," Diana sadly smiles. "Daddy's very strong. You don't know about this yet but a few years ago, he went through some very scary stuff and got very hurt. It took some fighting but believe me, your dad is the strongest person I know."
