Evan's POV—

"Merry Christmas," Jaxon says as he pulls me in for a hug. I return the greeting before I yawn and hug him back. When I pull away, I give him and Nicole room to get their coats and boots off. They hand me a huge box with several gifts while they get situated.

While they're doing that, I take the box towards the huge Christmas tree where dad, Mathew, and Zachary are at. Bluetooth speakers that were set up in the room last night are playing Christmas themed songs—some with vocals and some without.

Wrapping paper of all sorts of different colors are scattered all over the floor. Mathew's gifts—mainly new toys—have all been taken out of their boxes. Most of Zachary's are all out of the box as well, mixing in with Mathew's toys.

"Damn, we missed gift opening?" Jax says as he finally makes it into the room with us.

"Yup. Since Mathew and Zachary decided to wake us all up at the crack of dawn," dad says as he puts his coffee cup down onto a table next to the couch on the side he's sitting on so he can get up to properly say 'Merry Christmas' to Jaxon.

"It wasn't that early...we waited until it was 7," Zachary pitches in as he shrugs his shoulders, working his way on opening up another toy.

A remote control helicopter.

"So I guess that explains why you're yawning your head off," Jaxon says to me, teasing me a bit with an amused expression on his face.

"Yeah because these two ran down the halls shouting 'It's Christmas you mother fudgers' at the top of their lungs," I mumble under my breath as I make my way through the gifts in the box.

There's one for everyone.

"Mother fudgers?" Nicole questions.

"Yup, that's what they shouted," dad confirms.

I go through the whole box, sorting out whose gift is whose. Once it's all sorted out, I give Jax and Nicole their gifts so they can open theirs. With them having their gifts, and everyone else's gifts being in their rightful piles, I start to head for the kitchen to make a fresh cup of coffee.

Since I was so rudely woken up this morning, I was a little bit less enthusiastic than Mathew and Zachary about it being Christmas, and even less about opening gifts. But the coffee is helping.

"Oh Evan, can you get the plates down from the cabinets while you're standing there?" Roxy asks me from across the kitchen. I do so while I wait for my coffee to finish brewing and take the plates to the dining room for breakfast.

Roxy, Rebecca, Ashley, and now Nicole, are making breakfast. In previous years, our Christmas breakfasts were made by our personal chefs. Since we no longer have said personal chefs, and because she was excited to do so, Rebecca is making breakfast with the help from Ashley, Roxy, and Nicole.

After we eat, Ashley, Zachary, and Rebecca are planning on heading to Ohio to spend the next few days with their family. My family and I will be heading to my grandparents for dinner tonight, where the majority of my aunts and uncles and cousins will be, as well.

My coffee's done brewing once I get back into the kitchen.

Rebecca and Nicole are working on getting pancakes and waffles made while Ashley is working on bacon and sausage. Roxy's getting eggs and everything else prepared. Like bagels, danishes, fruits, and drinks.

"Evan, I love you, I really do, but you're in the way. Get out," Roxy says to me as she nudges past me with a couple bowls of fruit. I almost spilled my coffee because of her pushing past me to get to the dining room.
