Evan's POV—

"I now pronounce you wife and wife, Mrs. and Mrs. Carter-Daniels. Evan, you may kiss your bride," the officiant says. The second she says it, I immediately let go of Ashley's hands so that I can pull her closer to me by her waist. As I kiss her with so much love, all the love I have for her, she kisses me back with the same amount of emotions.

Everyone in the audience instantly cheers, clapping with joy for us.

"I love you," I whisper against her lips as I pull away from her soft lips.

"I love you, more," she returns as she looks deeply into my eyes.

The second we separate enough so that we can hold hands, a small body collides with us—running into us while beaming with their own happiness and excitement. And when Ashley and I both look down, we're immediately greeted by our toddler's smiling face.

Our son: Jaxon.

It was Ashley's idea to name him after my brother. And after giving it some thought, I thought, what better way to honor my brother than by naming my son after him.

He's two and a half now, and is filled with as much happiness as a toddler can have. Having a very active imagination. And being very energetic.

Similar to how I was at his age.

He also looks a lot like me. With his dark hair, bright green eyes, and skin that's a shade darker Ashley's.

But he's also not like me.

When he was born, we had some tests run—to see if he's intersex.

The tests showed that he's not.

He's simply just our healthy, cheerful little boy.

He was actually our ring bearer for our wedding ceremony.

Well, he acted as one.

Since he's only 2 and a half, we didn't actually have him carry our rings down the aisle. Ashley and I were afraid that he might lose them. Alex actually kept our rings—away and safe from Jaxon's endless amount of energy.

And seeing our son walk the aisle in his little suit that matched mine was definitely so fucking cute.

"Up," Ashley and my son says as he lifts his arms up, his fingers opening and closing to further indicate that he wants to be picked up. With a smile on my face as I look into our son's eyes, I temporarily let go of Ashley's hand to lift him up into my arms.

With him being very content with being held, I take Ashley's hand again with my free one and we make our way down the aisle.

As a family.

Passing by my dad, Rebecca, our siblings, friends who aren't in our parties, and other family members—all giving us their attention as they continue to cheer us on.

Clearly liking having everyone's attention on us, Jaxon smiles and waves to everyone as we walk by them. In return, the majority of our guests smile and wave back to him, further making him giggle and continue on.

"Your son is stealing the attention away from us," Ashley says as she gives my hand a squeeze, making me laugh a little.

"Well, considering he managed to sit somewhat still for the ceremony, I think we can let him have this one," I tell her.

Though it did probably help that he had his tablet and headphones to keep him occupied. Nothing grabs and keeps a kid's attention better than their favorite cartoon.
