Ashley's POV—
"I'm sick of this..." Evan mumbles. I quickly glance behind me to see her flop back onto her bed, sprawling her arms and legs around her open textbooks and notebooks.
"Do you need help with something?" I ask her as I turn back around and look back at my laptop and resume typing up an assignment I have to finish by Monday for one of my electives.
We have finals coming up in the first week of March—next week. And even though the trimester is ending soon, our teachers aren't stopping the workload of homework.
"Yeah. I need more motivation—come here," she says.
Curious about what she wants, I stand up from my desk. With my laptop with me, I walk over to her and sit down next to her on her bed. "Alright, what's up?" I ask her. She grins.
"For every science question I get right on this review thing, I get a kiss," she says, the grin still present on her face. Heat rushes to my face a bit.
"No," I simply tell her, my face still a bit warm. She only pouts as she tilts her head, some of her shaggy hair falling in front of her eyes.
"Why not?" she asks me as she leans closer to me, still pouting.
"B-because..." I trail off, trying to find a reason. Even though there really isn't any harm in it. "Because that's not how you learn," I end up telling her, knowing that it's not even that good of a reason.
She stops frowning and just sits there, thinking about what I just said. "I guess...but it's motivation babe. I'll be rewarded every time I get something right and it'll motivate me to continue studying to try to get more answers right so that—"
"I can keep kissing you," I finish for her, interrupting her mid sentence. She immediately nods, a soft smile appearing on her face.
"Exactly," she says, the smile still present on her face.
I just look at her, trying to figure out what else to say to it.
There really isn't any harm in it.
And it would motivate her to continue working.
"Fine," I end up saying. Her green eyes lighten up a bit at it and she almost immediately sits up and continues to work. I can only shake my head at her, smiling at her before I return my attention to my assignment.
A minute later, she gently taps my knee to get my attention.
"Is this right?" she asks me as she hands me her notebook with a problem on it.
"Yeah," is all I tell her as I look over the problem, going over the problem in my head to make sure she did her math right.
She grins and leans closer to me and closes her eyes. "Well? I'm waiting," is all she says to me as she puckers her lips a bit. I can't help but playfully roll my eyes at my girlfriend and reach up to touch the side of her face.
I waste no time in turning her head a bit and place a kiss on her cheek. When I pull away, I find her frowning at me—clearly disappointed.
"What? I gave you a kiss, didn't I? You never said where you wanted it," I tell her, defending myself. She huffs.
"That's mean," she tells me, the expression still on her face. I shake my head again at her child-like—and a mixture of annoying and adorable—behavior before I lean towards her again and press my lips against hers.
"There, happy?" I asks her as I pull away from her.
"Yes." she says with a grin.
"Get back to work, you idiot," I tell her, a smile growing on my face now. She only nods before she does just that.
