Evan's POV—
"Pizza's here!" Mathew shouts from the bottom of the stairs. I immediately sit up and throw my airpods aside, leaving them on my bed, cruelly interrupting Bad Idea, one of Girl in Red's songs. I literally jump out of bed and quickly head out of the room.
Ashley, Mathew, and Zack are already downstairs, I'm almost sure of it. Zack is for sure down there because his friends arrived roughly an hour ago and they've been doing lord knows what in the den. Probably watching dumb cartoons.
Mathew just announced that the pizza's here so he's for sure downstairs. As for Ashley? She wasn't upstairs in our room so either she's somewhere down stairs or somewhere else entirely.
Not that I really care what she does.
The thing that happened yesterday between us was just stupid. It was mainly my fault too. Actually, it was entirely my fault and I don't even know why I let it get to me as much as it did in the first place. She didn't really react to it at all and she's just going along, acting like she always does around me.
I think I've been overthinking it too much. I should just do what she's been doing and going along like nothing happened.
Besides.
The farther I put it away from me and out of my head, the better. I don't need dumb old feelings coming back to me. Feelings that I hate and don't trust at all. Especially since it involves Ashley.
I almost trip over my foot once I reach the bottom of the stairs. I do lose my balance for a quick second though. Once I regain it, I continue to make my way to the kitchen where the smell of pizza is coming from.
Zack has three friends over. That makes four people already. Then adding on Bec, dad, and Mathew, that's 7. Ashley and Roxy are still here and I'm sure Charles will be coming in for a slice as well. Then adding me, that's a total of 11 people.
11 people and I'm sure we're all going to be fighting over each slice.
Even if there's enough for everyone.
"Alright. Cheese...where is the cheese pizza," I mumble to myself as I walk into the kitchen and find a few boxes of pizza sprawled out across the huge kitchen island.
The first box I flip open is pineapple and ham. Which I never really liked because personally, I never really thought pineapple should belong on pizza. And it just tastes weird to me.
The second box is pepperoni. A classic, but not the plain pizza I'm looking for. Don't really have anything against pepperoni pizza, I just like plain cheese better.
"If you're looking for the cheese pizza, we're all out," someone says from behind me. I look over my shoulder and see Jax leaning against the fridge with a slice in his hand, already half eaten.
"What? For real? It took me literally less than a minute to get down here and it's already gone? How does something like that just happen?" I groan as I continue to check the boxes.
"Calm your tits. Dad got two boxes of each kind of pizza we got. I think the second box of cheese pizza is underneath that one," he tells me as he points his pinky to the box he's referring to.
Without wasting any more time, I move the pizza box that's on top over to the side and flip the other box's lid. Smiling in victory, I quickly grab a paper plate and take two slices of cheese pizza. So far, this box has been untouched.
Hopefully there'll still be some when I come back to restock.
"So. Not like I don't like you being here or anything, but why are you here?" I ask Jax as I turn around to face him, taking a bite of pizza in the process. He licks his fingers from holding his now gone pizza before he answers me.
