A Broken Soul

Grace
I see so many things that leave a lasting impression on me. This one is the worst. Dr Roberts came to me about a patient of his. He was very clear that he was never in the position he is in now. An ambulance brought in a young child and he was called in and he was shocked to see the patient on the hospital bed. They had her in the children's section of the hospital. He had her moved to a private room in maternity.
Dr Roberts
I brought Grace to my patient. The young girl was just 13 it is Christmas Eve and just before midnight. They brought her in with her mother, the mother died of stab wounds before she arrived here. The father was shot by cops as he stabbed the pregnant child. Luckily she was so tiny she could hide and got lacerations that could be stitched up. But she is frightened of all men who come near her. Her name is Anastasia Rachael Gray it was like a sign, I know about what happened to her daughter in law and thought just maybe they might be willing to foster this girl and her baby until we can place them properly. I ask Grace to help me to perform the Caesarean section on the child. She is having twin boys and can't deliver them naturally.
Grace
I call Anastasia and explain the situation and she puts Christian on the speaker phone. I know these two very well they can't turn their backs on this child. They arrive to meet her, she was frightened at first until she sees what Anastasia has brought with her. Two blue teddy bears and one big pink one for her along with clothing for the young girl. I gave her the size to get, but she had Sophie pick out the outfits and things for the girl.
Anastasia
I go in and Christian holds my hand while we carry several bags. Sophie and Gail came as well. They were told what was going on and we put our heads together. We thought it would be good to have Sophie here with us. She would see we can be trusted. We only have an hour to give her the gifts and to get her to trust us. Grace says it won't be easy, but it will be worth it in the long run. Dr Roberts is performing the c section, he took over my care after what happened in dr Greene's care. Dr Greene lost a lot of patients after I left.
Anastasia Gray
I am in major pain and they take me to an operating room. I ask if dr Grace can be there in the operating room? Dr Roberts said it is what he had planned to make sure I feel safe. I am placed under a plastic mask and asked to breathe in as they place a needle in me and explain what they are doing in simple terms. I have been in and out of hospitals all my life, I am used to needles. Men however scare me.
Grace
I watch as this tiny girl is cut open and her twin sons are born on Christmas Day. A sad state of affairs. She has no idea which of her fathers so called great friends raped her. I looked at her medical charts and I am unsure why she was released back to her parents at all. The baby boys had to be worked on to get them breathing and crying. They are tiny as well. I weigh them clean them up and they both weight about 4 pounds and are 16 inches long. We place them in incubators and have them taken to the nursery. Guards are waiting to assure their safety. Young miss Gray will be here for a week along with her sons.
The next day
Miss Gray wakes in a scream and we find a man standing over her and he has handcuffs on and is being taken out of the room. He intended on killing the child.
Christian
We were able to get temporary custody of the young girl and her sons. Their names are Joseph Edward and James Colin Gray. No father listed, but we think her visitor was the father. Anastasia thinks she will thrive around the other children. I sure hope she does. We have custody of the boys as well.
Detective James
I walk in and inform the Grey's that we need to talk about Miss Gray. It turns out she was kidnapped when she was a baby. The people she was with were not the kidnappers, but the cousins of them. Apparently their cousins were arrested for the kidnapping, but they had no idea where she was being kept. They had trouble having children. Now the child has children by someone that was a friend of the guy posing as her father. The distraught parents were killed in a car wreck two years after their daughter was taken from the hospital. Now we have someone in custody.
Anastasia Gray
I am going to live with the Grey family and they will be calling me Ana to avoid confusion. It is strange that my name is so similar to Mrs Grey's. They have a room for me and the boys will be next door to mine. I will be going to school and the boys will be cared for by nannies or mannies. I will meet them and staff. I will meet their children as well as the rest of the children on the estate. I am the oldest of all of them. I feel trapped at this point. But at 13 I am limited in my choices. Grace has been going on and on about me liking it after I get used to living with her son and daughter in law. Her son seems like a hard ass until Anastasia is around and he is like totally under her spell. She really is kind and thinks of others all the time. She needs to think of herself as well.
Finally we arrive at a huge gated estate security is there to allow us inside. I am taken to my room and the boys are carried in by a multitude of staff. We have all kinds of things for them and me. I have to have smaller clothing and shoes. I find the rooms beautiful and amazing. Nurseries are on this floor and the rooms join so they are easily accessed. I see cameras and iPads showing each individual child's room. Anastasia
She looks nervous and I understand why. She is very protective of her boys. Christian agrees that she definitely wants to keep her boys. He says it didn't surprise him. We will have to reassure her that we will make sure that she can keep them if that is what she wants. She has already been traumatized and taking the boys would break her even more.
